Objects are getting thrown at you by the poltergeists. They're those floating electricity ball things.
And I wasn't aware LURK had helicopters in the last mission. That does sound like a dick move. I understand in real life your chances of living in that situation are close to nil, but seriously now...
And I enjoy the no ammo in the labs thing. Because seriously, why would there be ammo down there? It makes it harder. I like hard things.

Difficult is fun but I don't want it to be so hard I ragequit.
You have the wrong patch. You need 1.0004 for AMK.
I can't downgrade, I have the steam version.
My point is that OL offers little that other mods don't, and often the OL "version" is worse that the original (80kg weight limit? ugh)
So you can change it. The point is OL puts all the great features of other mods into one little package. If one tiny thing is irritating you then change it, it's not hard.

And why spend hours tweaking everything I'd need to in order to fix that when I could just play AMK, OL's big, cool, brother?

Because even AMK has it's quirks. I have modified OL's outfits and artifacts to yield much lower stats, you are no longer immune to bullets etc... The beginning of the game is much harder. And OL is not as easy as everyone thinks, play on Master difficulty, the beginning of the game is hard, but of course once you progress and attain more artifacts and better gear then you become Godlike.
Wow, what a dick.

AMK crashes my computer when I accept a mission and I can't fix it. Without missions STALKER's not that great.
Either use 1.0004 or get the 1.0005 fix (can't find it, was a long way to do it for the first time)
Or use OL

That was my reasoning for playing OL.

Pretty much every gun is a rail driver. LURK takes it too far in the other direction (hopefully 1.1 is fixing this), but it's better than using an AK-74 as a sniper rifle.

That's just nit picking, I think they're just fine. Too many people complained that Clear Sky guns were way too inaccurate, so it's really person preference.

And when did I say this was more than my preference? Or did you not see the part when I said I prefer AMK?
[editline]10:09PM[/editline]
Hell, I'm gonna install AMK Arsenal right now while I wait for LURK 1.1
[editline]10:10PM[/editline]
Oh wait I'd have to reinstall and patch to 1.004
[editline]10:10PM[/editline]
nevermind

I see nothing wrong with ballistics, the guns are accurate as they need to be. I expect my gun to hit what I am aiming on when looking down the iron sights.
Lurk=more realistic
No, not really.
Seriously. Play AMK. OL just rips off its best features.
More like every mod ever.

Or you could make your own mod compilation suited to your personal tastes instead of using the shitty "brand name" ones
Or you could play L.U.R.K.

As we say in Russkie, shut the fuck upovich
LURK isn't that amazing

Lets see, blacked out tabs, downloads in progress/finished, windows media player.
Boy you watchin porn again?
CoP is the best game in the series yet, at first I was a bit skeptical. once I got to know it better it got just so awesome.
And the fact that you can play even after you finish the game to finish side quests is even more awesome.
Graphics are amazing, yet not laggy. Pripyat is pretty small really, and after you finish all the side quests and have a shitload of Rubles you'll get bored fast, can't wait for this game to come out in other countries too, I want more mods :saddowns:
I now know why I love OL.
I have an artifact setup where I have an extra 30 bullet protection, god knows how much radiation regeneration, 150% health regeneration, bleeding goes away in an instant, and so much extra endurance, I can run forever when my weight is in the red! All of this at only the cost of burn protection.
yay me :hfive:
I'm going to see if I can up one of my resistances to above 100% protection and just cause damage to myself to heal and repair my armor.

Sounds balanced
There are no good artifacts in LURK though, which means they are pretty much worthless.
I wish artifacts were more rare, gave shitloads of radiation (the radiation system would have to be changed, though), and were much more effective.

I think that you should be able to toss artifacts into their anomalies of origin to temporarily disable them at the cost of the artifact. The more valuable the artifact, the longer the anomaly is suppressed. This would go great with a random anomaly system.

For my mod I've made all the artifacts use the Survival Guide properties. Which basicly means that pros can't outdo cons

That is a great idea. I'd love to be able to get through some areas without having to time my runs just right.

and if you call now, we'll throw in another endurance boost, ABSOLUTELY FREE! ok, this is a impact, rupture, and bulletproofing value, all for the low price of BURN PROTECTION! and if you call in the next 5 minutes, we'll send you a complimentary PDA. the number is 1-800-STALKER. again, the number is one eight hundred ess tee aye el kay eee arr. we can't keep the lines open all day, so call now!
The STALKER book series is amazing, I managed to get one that's based around Clear Sky, so far so good.
I could translate them if I wasn't such a lazy fuck.
I wish I knew Russian ;__;
Gonna learn it in the military, though.
I just finished going through the underground of the institute, that controller wasn't as bad as I thought he'd be, though his primary attack is damn annoying. I had more trouble with the Bloodfuckers, one of them cloaked and ran off, then jumped me just as I was about to leave.
Also a Bandit was expecting me...

What program do you use to show your GPU temp?
