Clear Sky has almost as much charm as Morrowind had for me. And that is a fuckton. I sat and watched the sun set. It was cool. Also... if I don't want to go out in the night, is there a way to sleep or something?

Most mods add a sleeping bag.
I was kinda trying to play through vanilla CS without mods.

Try this:

Should work with nearly all small mods you install for CS, but most of the larger mods just add their own sleeping bag.
Thanks man. I'll try it out!
So I got STALKER on the holiday sale and started playing it, everything worked fine till I crashed and I was thrown "Display driver has stopped responding" to me. I tried again, setting the resolution and graphics lower, after about 15 min of playing I crash again with the same error.
Help please ?
It is not my computer because I can run it fine even when its everything on high. Specs.
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT
2048GB ram
intel dual core E8200 2.66GHz 2.66Ghz
Windows 7 beta build 7100
Just got STALKER SoC running again after some technical difficulties. X16 fire spirit thing was a bitch for me.

I think we should go with something that fits the holiday spirit a bit more.
Merry STALKER Christmas.
God damn....
I'm never gonna travel in this game at night again.
NEVER!
I was looking a shelter and it was damn dark, I happen to run into 3 bloodsuckers with their invisibility stuff. Also my first time seeing bloodsuckers so I didn't know their warcry. I walk into the house with my flashlight and suddenly I hear "GWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHG" All over the place.
I started to look around with my flashlight and all I could see was a blue ish glimpse every now and then of those half cloaked things :ohdear:
I fired a few shots and realized the off hip aim was horrible.
I ran.
Those things kept stalking me until I ran past a farm with loners in it and the bloodsuckers killed all the loners.
It might be even scarier then that controller.
(Jeez I can't wait for x16/x18 :ohdear:)
God fucking dammit
That controller in the end of [sp] Strenlok's group stash [/sp] scared the fucking shit out of me.
This is seriously the fucking only game that scared me. I tried fighting the controller then died.
Second time I ran like a fucking pussy. Saved outside and quit the game for tonight.
[sp] That war-cry thing combined with the darkness and the beeping will give me nightmares for sure [/sp]
I hate that controller.
Whatever other the monster be, I man up and take out my shotgun. But that controller...
:ohdear:
Just Hide in that one corner, keep doing lean shots. What's there to hate?
a better way:
just run up to him and blast him with your shotgun
he doesn't even try to attack you with his melee moves
An even better way:
Throw grenades at him.
OR run.
Like I did.
Stil don't know if he followed me outside though :ohdear:
I just hate the general effect a controller has on the area around it. Those men singing horribly and the screen bobbing, making it impossible tosnipe.
I wonder if crisis'd allow me to draw myself for the stalker picture?
SoC is getting way boring. It sucks knowing where to go all the time, what to expect, and the best way to do things. I need a change, and a drastic one. I think I'll play that Priboi story mod I've heard about. Does it have new maps?
I heard it does.
OR run.
Like I did.

Mutant's can't climb.
The only fact that made me survive my LURK sneak into X18.
Jumped over the gate, snuck through the backyard and heard a rat. I was like 'BULLSHIT!' cause I had no silenced weapons.
Managed to knife it.
Then came another.
Another
and the whole family.
Plus 4 bloodsuckers.
*shudder*

The high pitched noise.
God that almost made me turn off the sound. But then I thought I wouldn't know if there were any other threats without sound.
And bloodsuckers....
My eery experience about them is the last post of previous page O.o

I can't count how many times I've been walking around somewhere and heard that growing "eeeeeeeeeeeeee" and spent the next five minutes looking for the damn mutant, ducking behind cover every time it saw me and I started hearing that sound again.

Its still my very first walktrough of the game so for me this was like hell.
I'm pretty sure it will only get worse further in the game :ohdear:
ok wtf...yeseterday stalker was working fine and now it takes like 5 mins to load everytime there is an area change OR loading a save game :l..
Oh I was coming back through the red forest again after shutting down the scorcher.
I turned the nightvision off, since it generated more noise than usefulness, and proceeded to slowly stroll through the forest, I now tought of being a safe one. But not safe enough for flashlights, mind you.
I continued walking towards where first monolith sniper was, navigating my way through colossal rocks smugly sitting in their place, aiming to keep me busy with navigating, which I was.
After I walked about few hundred meters and scouted out a path that should take me where I wanted to go I saw two bright lights slowly floating around 150m from me behind some rocks and bushes.
I pulled out my knife with a 'chatshing!' that just screamed 'ZOOOMBIEEEE HUNTEEER EXTREEEEMEEE 20000 X!" Rapidly and accurately I began to freerun towards the lights left to the heads of a zombie by the soul that once was in them.
I jumped over some obstacles, landed ontop of others and pushed myself foward and so on until I reached the estimated area of zombie goastss.
As I landed my final leap and took a few steps to get to better ground just in case I'd needed to form a stance against the much-more-horrific-other-horrors-of-the-horrilbe-zone I started sencing that there's something not right here, namely the zombies. or lack thereof.
Yep. I did a 150m long freerun just to find nothing.
I stood there, listening to the sounds of the forest and trying to find what were those lights and did I overshoot them by accident.
After a few moments, finding none of the lights and even less zombies I seathed my knife and started moving back to my starting point. When I suddenly see those lights again, but now there were 3 lights and those 3 lights were doubled again to form 6 lights rapidly closing in on my face.
I turned around and started running within a split second.
Within another second I hit a wall.
Within 3 other seconds filled with confusion, the first bloodsucker reaches me.
But I managed to do some jumps, leap over bloodsuckers head and escape to tell the tale!
Well, kind of, since I ran into a monolith encampment, right as they were cooking marshmellows.
*sigh*

Oh lords, aint that a WOT or what?
ok wtf...yeseterday stalker was working fine and now it takes like 5 mins to load everytime there is an area change OR loading a save game :l..
Do a restart.

I don't know what they were thinking when they designed the controller sounds.
"HEY WHY DON'T WE MAKE THIS MONSTER MAKE A HIGH PITCHED FUCKING SCREECHING NOISE WHENEVER IT SEES YOU?"
"GREAT IDEA!"
Merry christmas everyone!
It's not Christmas. :colbert:
Oh god, just had my first encounter with blood sucker, was just walkin around shitting my pants and then out of nowhere the fucker came, it was hard to kill the fucker because my hand was shaking so much so my aim was shitty.
I found 23 rounds of 9x39mm ammo on a dead soldier, an LR300 on a Loner, and a scope for an AK47.
it's a christmas miracle

Maybe that's why it wasn't included in the final game? They didn't get the kinks worked out yet. It behaves much better in Clear Sky.
