If you're playing for the first time, play through with no mods at all.

Otherwise get OL/LURK. They're the most popular mods anyway.

Play it with either Complete 2009 or LURK. Complete 2009 upgrades the graphics and lurk adds gameplay changes. Use only one, not both.

I must be playing this game wrong because i think it's awful. Don't get me wrong i play any game for a lengthened period of time before judging it, but i can't play this for more then 10 - 20 minutes. I constantly die on the first mission ...

I bought it from steam for around 1 pound or so, i thought "hey, for the price of a chocolate bar, why not?" but honestly, i want my chocolate bar now...

Perhaps you keep rushing ? Just hang back and take them off one by one, mainly because this game is quite hard.

I just got SoC on STEAM too and no matter what settings I have it on, it won't run more than 15FPS.

Static Lighting, All sliders down, VSync off - 15FPS
Full Dynamic Lighting, All sliders up, VSync on - 15FPS
