[img]http://planetside-stats.com/images/logo_planetside.png[/img] [B] ------------------------------ The short and sweet: ------------------------------ [/B] Planetside 2 is the sequel to the infamous FPSMMO, Planetside. It's an FPS, mixed with MMO-influenced features, most because it is notiably the worlds only first person shooter that can reasonably support up to 2000 players on a single map. It is also an MMO in the sense that you align yourself with one of three empires.. the Terran Republic, the New Conglomerate, or the Vanu Soverignty. Maps are large, confirmed to be up to 64 square kilometers in size. Each map is split up by hexes which your faction attempts to control by seizing outposts, facilities, towers, etc spread across the map. Hexes grant your faction a certain resource when held, which generates every 5 minutes - resource are used to buy tanks, support vehicles, aircraft, explosives, and weapon upgrades. The game is class based similar to BF3, except character progression is done via Certifications (or Certs) and purchases with Auraxium - the main resource of the game that lets you get weapons, implants, etc. It is totally free to play and currently in closed beta. The game will offer players the chance to purchase items in the store with real money or Auraxium, and cosmetic items are avalable too (only for those who pay with real money though). Many weapons and upgrades in the store work more like "side-grades" instead of straight upgrades - such as the Magrider cannon that does massive damage to tanks but has bad AoE damage and is bad against infantry. This is intended to keep the balance and make it so the game doesn't become "Pay to Win". Additionally, the primary form of character progression - Certs - can never be purchased. Max population everywhere :(.

Max population is going to be a major issue I can see in the future unless they disassocate player accounts to servers. Because right now if you have a profile on a server that is full, you simply cannot play - the only way to play is to basically "start over" with a new character/account on a new server.

For me this appears to be the most stable build. No issues yet. All the newbies is great, I just got a 21 kill streak playing as a vanu HA.

I think they should just do account per region instead of server. It's a hassle to rebind stuff for new profile everytime.

Really bad FPS although I seem to get a better FPS on high settings.

That's gay, thought is was special too. Now I cant even play :'(

Even worse FPS than before, 8-10 fps using an HD 6970, Phenom II X4 965 at 3.4 GHz, and 6 gigs of ram. At least in the last build I was hovering around 15, and the one before that I was at 30!

I've been disconnected twice so far but otherwise best build since opening.

My friend is unable to play due to no one moving on his side. He can still shoot everyone and kill them, but can't see them moving . I just had the same thing as him, but he has it constantly

I crashed twice and now I get "server error" every time I try to click on my character.

I can't play since the server boots me every five minutes or so.

Yeah I'm disconnecting on EU1 often. Oh well it's about time they properly stress tested the servers.

Just remember these times when this game is officially launched and has most of the bugs ironed out and is stable to play.

Anyone else think they should allow you to use same name across the servers?

Getting booted every 2 mins from EU 1, guess the servers can't handle it. Oh well I have no idea what I'm doing when I play the game anyway ha
