This game refuses to launch. What do.
It's avast getting a false positive, just like it did with steam at one point. You can manually add an exception so you don;t have to do this every time.
Which "shield" do I need to add the exception to?
Yeah, that's what I did! I turned 360º and continued driving.

Oh come the fuck on.
Trying to remove an INSERT binding since that's what I use for screenshots but apparently you can have the whole keyboard bound to one function.

Guess I'll have to do it manually.

You should be able to bind whole numpad for tank/galaxy eject, that way you can roleplay.
I'm psychic, you're using avast anti virus. Before you play disable the shields for 10 min, then boot up launcher and play game.

Yeah, that worked. Thanks!
Incidentally, they've really buggered the shooting in this. It felt so much better before the patch, not sure what they did.
But I have the same problem, and I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials. Any ideas?

We had a lot more, but the numbers started to dwindle for the group photo. We had warpgate locked the NC for about thirty minutes, until they finally broke through. If anyone's interested in joining, here's our website: 92nd.ucoz.com
I probably would've joined as what I mostly do is Mosquito runs and air support, but I've put so much time into my character on EU1 (According to the stats if I remember correctly, quite a few days in hours) that it'd get quite troublesome to get all that back.
Maybe after a wipe or something.

Hm, odd.
You can rule out MSE at least.
I use that and it works fine for me.
Hm, the game crashed on launch until I tried launching without steam.
If the people having the problem also does this, perhaps its the Steam integration crashing?
Or maybe it was completely by chance.

Yes, that can happen.
Had it happen in other games and such.
Always disable things like that when troubleshooting crash issues.

That worked, Thanks!
Anyone been over to the official PS2 forums today? Everyone is complaining about weapons being OP with an incredible amount of bias in favor of the Faction they play. It looks like SPUF.
Isn't Vanu OP tho? I heard the bullets don't travel at all.
They have insane velocity, and no bullet drop.
They also do the least damage.
And they also have harsh damage drop at a distance.

At a long distance you still have to lead your target so they definitely travel
There's a guy over at the PS2 forums who said his TR Outfit tested the damage rates of the three standard weapons of each faction at very close distances. His main point was that because NC pretty much always beat TR at close distances when both players are standing completely still while shooting, that NC must be OP. They also tested TR versus VS, and even though TR destroyed VS, he said it was fair because VS is supposed to use "Utility". (I've got no idea what the hell he means by that)

Just sounds like TR Biased posting. NC beat us. Must be OP. We raped Vanu, but it's totally fair, no need for nerf here.
My Planetside 2 crashed because the mumble ingame overlay thingy was running, maybe that helps too.

That's exactly what he's doing, and he's trying to hide the fact by saying the Vanu need to use their weapons they way they were designed to be used to be effective.
Well no shit. The same goes for the TR. Standing still 10 feet apart and shooting the other guy in the face is NC's strongpoint. If both players were moving in circles during the tests, the NC guy would start missing shots, while the TR guy would have more bullets to play around with so missing wouldn't matter all that much to him.
Vanu is best for unloading your entire magazine in your opponents face due to the higher firerate it has.
I feel really annoying doing this but I'm having no luck on twitter, does anyone happen to have a spare key they wouldn't mind giving me?

I'm fine with waiting for another wave of keys to go out, but I wouldn't mind getting one if someone has one. :x
Vanu is best for unloading your entire magazine in your opponents face due to the higher firerate it has.
isnt tr supposed to have the highest fire rate
I'm pretty sure TR is in the middle with moderate damage and firerate.
Hm, I thought Vanu was range, no "bullet" drop and special weapons
Does the damage drop affect the sniper rifles for Vanu?
it'll be silly for a sniper rifle to do less damage from a far distance.
Well Vanu sniper rifles are pretty bad to begin with.

That's one of the main reasons i want an automatic weapon for infiltrator.
we've decided to keep passive cert point gain in for everyone and just make it 50% higher for members (although you can also buy separate)
