Oh praise be to the lord. My dinosaur computer might finally be able to run this. I'd give my left nut to get even 20 fps during a battle
I really hope it's this patch.
Still waitin' on that Wipe so that I can finally play without knowing my progress will be wiped clean in the coming days.
Credit goes to Echrome of reddit for extracting these from the design meeting: Highlights from the first half: Vehicles (Kevin Moyer, Lead Vehicles Designer) Vehicles are too weak right now Adding ~1 more HA rocket hit per side Sunderer as a respawn point is coming Resupply/healing other vehicles requires certs (mutually exclusive) Sunderer resource cost increased Mortar speed (range) increased More weapons buffs coming (on the underpowered ones), but not the next patch Post videos of you using vehicle weapons, post on forums or send to @Kevmo0 More certs coming (vehicle preformance not yet though) Some weapon fixes are done, but not live Bases (Corey Navage, Facilities Designer) AMP station changes are sticking around Warpgate changes: should be much less grieving New staging area in the warpgate Infiltrators can hack emplaced turrets and consoles (eg. vehicle spawn terminals) Esamir launches next week (some servers will have only Esamir or only Indar) Lenny Gullo, Environments Designer) Significant preformance increases coming for low-end machines (notably dual core CPUs), Tech plant changes: similar to AMP stations, though not quite as linear More turrets and a better interior layout for tech plants New facility capture animations are coming More walls coming to certian facilities Josh Sanchez, Lead Combat Designer MAX suits are now on a cooldown (CD reduction certs are coming, but not in game yet) AV weapon buffs for TR and NC MAX suits Scatter cannon gets more pellets per shot Dual cyclers may get a spin up time, still in the works though Addition: IFF gun to tag enemies wiht a motion tracking dart More tool and class cert lines added next week Additional infiltrator cloak coming next week
YES Esamir next week! and performance patch for dual cores!
Awesome. They're removing idling in the next patch. And voice macros will be in again.
I hope they plan on adjusting Auraxium gain and/or pricing then, because if your faction holds +30 Aur all day, it would take almost 7 hours of in-game time to get a 2500 Aur item, and 35 hours of in-game time to get a 12500 Aur item. At 3 hours a day, that's a bit over 11 days. Even fighting at an Aur base is likely to cut only a few hours off.
How to liberate the shit out of the enemy. 1. spawn liberator 2. get 2 other friends in the turrets on teamspeak 3. shoot everything 4. ??? 5. get auraxium I hope they dont nerf this rape machine.
The Liberator's paper thin armor is probably the only thing keeping it balanced
With a semi-decent tail gunner you can survive quite some time though. It can take down chasing fighters quite quickly
Esamir launches next week (some servers will have only Esamir or only Indar)
This is great! I wonder how much different Easmir is gameplay-wise than Indar. (really hope they added some nice Ice/Snow areas)
I hope it snows.
"Infiltrators can hack emplaced turrets and consoles" Had a fun bug once. I was an engineer and I hacked a spawn tube. Converted it from TR spawn tube to Vanu spawn tube, while we still didn't own the facility.
i don't know maybe it's the nostalgia glasses from when i played PS1 (simpler times) but it seems PS2 is still missing something that made PS1 special maybe it's BTR's......

The hotspots are servers, the warpgate is the main menu/lobby and actually getting to the hotspot is loading. And also probably the fact that it just feels like a bigger BF3 map where you capture flags so god damned fast, it's stupid fighting over a huge facility only to capture it in like 2 minutes once we actually get to the "flag" room then the fight is already done and everyone just goes somewhere else, it's really anti climactic.
it feels more like Battlefield 2142 2
couldn't put it better
Spawn a liberator because my prowler was on cooldown and TR needed air support. Friendly mosquito rams it off the launchpad and it explodes the second I hit spawn button.

People need to realise that idling gets you fuck all aux and shouldn't be the primary method to judge how much Aux you can potentially make an hour. It's like judging how many certs people will earn simply by counting the passive cert gain. I'm sure they'll change it easier though, but not by much. I mean ultimately they do want a reason why the 50% aux booster for smedbux to be attractive, or to buy weapons directly. The whole business model to to get people to pay for shortcuts, because they are not going to be running the servers on camo sales alone.
Debating if I should buy Alpha Squad, I've read some of the recent changes and it seems they're doing decent with PS2 and want it to be better instead of have their heads up their collective asses babbling shit about how PS2 > PS1 when the community agrees that PS2 is Lacking in comparison. I love the Galaxy losing spawn ability, the devs were clinging to that shit like a vintage porno. Sunderer will finally be useful. [editline]20th September 2012[/editline] What will I be able to do with the Station's cash, will I be able to buy shit and get it wiped clean?
I wouldn't go as far as saying the community prefers PS1 over PS2, beyond a few splerglord length bittervet threads. PS1 was a broken mess also. But yes, it's nice to see they're actually listening. And yeah, I didn't mean that PS1 is clearly superior to PS2 but PS2 had some major flaws in the game design that i'm glad they're actually fixing and listening to the community.
Yes its granted upon purchase. It doesn't mean there is anyway you'll be spending it ingame. Smedbux is used over several other games.

I joined an Aussie NC outfit recently and last night we just went around capping small bases for a couple of hours. I'd spend all my aux the night before so I only had about 150, and by the time we were done I had around 2400. We didn't even set foot in any of the major facilities, and NC's passive gain was 30 for most of the time.
Another week for Esamir :( At least we'll hopefully get some good gameplay tomorrow. [editline]20th September 2012[/editline] Or not. The 12v12 event that was supposed to showcase Esamir tomorrow is canceled, pushed back to next week when we're all getting Esamir anyways. They might be doing another Esamir even tomorrow instead for the FNO but I highly doubt it.
Jumped off a cliff yesterday, trying to jetpack down below to sneak up behind the enemy. A galaxy comes out of fucking nowhere and i faceplant right into it. Pretty embarassing. I hope nobody saw it. Shame i can't be like the guy in the trailer.
Once I was flying a Mosquito as light assault and bailed just before it blew up and managed to land on an enemy Galaxy. After shooting it with no results for a little bit I was gunned down by another Galaxy.

I have survived a landing ontop of one once, but i just recall gliding off the side.

I have a 2.1 k/d and my outfit plays very aggressively, so I see a lot of action, and I didn't get anything like that.
It's a hella more accurate than 11 hours lol
I remember fell i jumped of a high cliff. But instead of getting death i skied of the ground like I was in Tribes. No damage.
