I just find that strange considering the ESF has one of the highest DPS ingame vs soft targets.
I just find that strange considering the ESF has one of the highest DPS ingame vs soft targets.
I myself found it strange because as I said I spent a good 30 minutes hovering around Rashnu killing infantry and even when I was unstable as hell and could barely pull a shot on infantry, they'd still drop but this one just refused to go down and he was standing still just looking at me.
Just hovering there might not be the best idea when taking on infantry with rockets though...
Or tanks :v: My magrider loves that.
Just hovering there might not be the best idea when taking on infantry with rockets though...
Of course it's not, it's mostly the fact that pulling off unstable shots that barely touches infantry seems to rip them to shreds but as soon as I'm stable, crosshair perfectly lined up with the infantry and I shoot for a full second, I expect him to go down like the others did when I shot them even less than that.
what the unholy fuck why does c4 cost 480 certs. Why does everything cost 500 certs. lol c4 on the heavy assault costs 1200 certs, 3600 if you want too are they high
Are they still handing keys on their twitter? I want to get a key for my friend.

I got a feeling these are not the final cert costs :v:
Is cert gain the same?
no, its much much much much lower. SOE is insane, in other words
God damnit. [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline] I'm not even sure if I want to let this update even finish downloading now, I'm not sure it's worth it.
So, I registered a day or two ago and I heard I'd have to do naughty things to get a beta code. Do I simply have to go and beg somewhere?
is it just me or did they change the NC's tracer fire to yellow?
Gah.. Anyone getting horrible FPS to the point of unplayability in hot zones? I get like 5 FPS or less. :(
Wooo, got a key! Finally. Downloading right now.
Hm, I like the weapon changes. I can actually see where my bullets are going now, and the recoil and such seems to be a lot better now. Did they change the sounds a bit too? Dunno, sounds a bit more "beefy" now. Can't remember reading anything about that in the patch notes.
This is not Planetside. This is Battlefield 3 in space. I am so disappointed.
i dont see space combat anywhere????
is it just me or did they change the NC's tracer fire to yellow?
Yeah. They changed it to be easier to distinguish from the other sides. In PS1, NC had yellow while VS had blue/purple. In PS2, NC had blue while VS had... blue. The change makes it much easier to tell who is firing.
What server Eu guys are playing at?
This is not Planetside. This is Battlefield 3 in space. I am so disappointed.
do people just forget that 2142 existed...
has the performance patch for dual core users come or must i wait longer until i can actually play?
do people just forget that 2142 existed...
Why would you compare 2142 to the abomination that is Battlefield 3?
i dont see space combat anywhere????
Oops, I'm sorry, I should have said "In the future" The point remains. Ironsights, short TTK for the casuals, cert system butchered, MBTs only need 1 person to use the main cannon. Infiltrator is now also the sniper. The extremely good sniping system from Planetside 1 replaced with something more CoD-like, gun-customization and paintjobs so you can be all OPERATOR, some certs give straight upgrades. It's just a bad game right now.
The extremely good sniping system from Planetside 1
oh shit what are you doing
gun-customization and paintjobs so you can be all OPERATOR
I hate to break this to you mr videogame man but real soldiers in real armies customize their weapons to suit their needs.
oh shit what are you doing I hate to break this to you mr videogame man but real soldiers in real armies customize their weapons to suit their needs.
I'll admit my problem with the weapons system may be a bit personal, but yes, Planetside 1 had a perfect sniping system in place. It was a system that forced your engagements to be extremely long range, balancing the snipers by restricting them to their role as long range support.
Okay, you don't like the fact that they're trying to appeal to more audiences so the game has an actual player base.
Why does a game have to simplify itself for the lowest common denominator to have "an actual player base?"
Yeah I mean I find the semi-auto spamming in close quarters in PS2 kind of silly but PS1 sniping was just ass. Complete CoF bloom for slightly moving your crosshair, and when you slightly moved in that game it would feel like guiding the reticule through a grid rather than just moving normally. Which worked for me because I hate sniping and hate snipers even more but it was just objectively awful. Though really I'd be fine if an FPS came out and just didn't have sniper rifles.
i don't know if you've noticed, but the sniper rifles are pretty terrible so it's kind of balanced imo i've only gotten sniped maybe three-four times out of the few hundred death's i've managed to rack up. meeting an infiltrator who isn't a dumb solo little kid who refuses to work with a team is rare enough, and typically when you meet them you gun them down anyway because they don't even have a chance to fight back. plus you can hear them cloak and uncloak like forty feet away too. the iron sights aren't a problem. in fact, i like the aiming system a lot better in PS2 than in PS1. Everything in PS2 is solid enough as it is. The biggest thing that throws me off is the certs. I like how you had to designate your characters to certain roles whereas in PS2 everything is a lot more universal: anybody can drive a tank and anybody can fly any aircraft they want. That's the only thing that throws me off, but other than that I don't see anything wrong with it
but PS1 sniping was just ass. Complete CoF bloom for slightly moving your crosshair,.
No, this was a good thing, and it didn't work like that. The slower you moved your mouse, the less it would bloom. What this did was the only way you could move the crosshair far enough ahead to lead people was at great distances. Twitch shots at close range were impossible because if you scoped in while moving or turned your mouse very fast you couldn't hit jack shit. This eliminated any sort of quickscoping problem there could have been.
The biggest thing that throws me off is the certs. Vehicles should at least be certed like in Planetside 1. It seems whoever galaxy spams the hardest wins in conflicts.
