Why do people even use lights? I disabled them on all of my vehicles so I'm not as much of a giant target at night. It also makes it easier to hide which way you're facing.
The thing about PS1... well, for your sake I'll talk about PS2 exclusively: most folk that play join squads. Right now squads are kind of iffy (and even worse when there's four squads in a platoon because platoons are glitchy as hell). Typically you squad up with a few guys who talk on VOIP and go from there. If you play with me, I can rally up a twelve man squad in about ten minutes, kick the retards like infiltrators and other guys who run off and do their own thing, and fill it up again at warpgate and we'll be rolling out and capturing back points immediately afterwards. It all boils down to your social level and your comfort level. I'd say since you're new, find a squad that's active. The squads that have more players are usually the ones that have better organization but sometimes that's not true. Listen to the squad leader if he's giving orders and try to communicate back. That doesn't mean you have to do it via verbally or by typing. I can communicate to a twelve man squad as a squad leader and not have them say a single peep to me. I give out orders, drop a waypoint and watch them get on it like hounds. They highlight targets with the Q key and scuttle an objective marker, capture a zone and we're mobile again and ready to go. VOIP makes the game 200% better because that's what it's made for. When you join a functional squad and participate with a team, the game plays out like no other. You'll have the time of your life and hours will fly by once you do that. Also, a quick fix to your game is to just buy a reflex sight. TR has the best and it sounds like you're TR anyways. I think the visual issue will just always be there so it's something you're going to have to live with like I did.
I am new conglomerate, how do I find a squad? Also I am not going to play until this video issue is fixed, I am not joking when I say it's really really really bad. It makes the game unplayable and it's really disappointing because all the footage of this game got me pretty excited for it.
I was having a hard time acclimating to Planetside 2, but after a few days this game is starting to grow on me.
Any TR on Adrastea want to play? I'd be more up for playing with people on here than some random pubbies.
where's the performance patchhhhh
It was already released. It reduced performance.
-snip im DUMB-
"My experiences with the grounder consist of having my mosquito drop to half health because a stock mosquito has no flares. So in my mind the downside is unless the target just wants to hang out, the grounder probably wont drop many aircraft. I'm thinking it might be good for support or as a nuisance, but it can't do much alone." quote from my planetside 2 outfit forum
Would it be the same damage even for the NC Hawk? If so, that's really disappointing then. I had put a lot of certs into Heavy Assault to get the 3 extra rockets, basically trying to play "Anti-Vehicles" role but if that's all it does it seems kind of worthless. What would people suggest I get when I get to 12.5k then? Rocket Pods on the Reaver?
Goddamnit, what the fuck do I have to do to get this game not totally blurry as all shit.
I posted how to a while back. Although you have to basically edit an xml file after launching the launcher, or else it won't work. File gets rewritten every time you start the launcher too. Super crisp game after I disabled it, though.
Uh...
Cont locked! [editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
where's the performance patchhhhh
Well it wasn't in last weeks patch notes. Hopefully the one tomorrow.
Apparently I got accepted to the beta, but I cannot play it because I have 3 different accounts on the same e-mail and I have no idea which one received the beta. Another problem is that I forgot the password with all of them so I must reset them, however, you can only reset one password per 24 hours, so now I must wait. :| [editline]24th September 2012[/editline] I just remembered the password to one of my accounts but " All users need to reset their passwords. Please click below to start this process. " So I do this, but: " We currently have a limit on the number of times you can reset a password within a 24-hour period. The account in question has reached the maximum permitted number of resets and must wait until tomorrow to reset again. " I mean really? Are you fucking kidding me?
I too have this problem. How to fix that? T_T
Oh man. VS gunplay is fun. A lot. Still... TR FOR LIFE.
It was already released. It reduced performance.
It didn't just reduce it. It cut its legs off and handicapped it for awhile until it gets prosthetics. (Read as, till it's patched.) I personally was able to max it out with everything, and hit 120FPS. Now I can barely play on low with 30FPS.
Why do people even use lights? I disabled them on all of my vehicles so I'm not as much of a giant target at night. It also makes it easier to hide which way you're facing.
I disable mine when just driving around, but when fighting infantry at the dead of night I usually turn them on. It's damn near impossible to pick out the dark purple of VS infantry against the dark blue of the dirt.
Did anyone manage to bypass error G25? Is there a config file where graphic settings/resolution can be configured?
Why does it feel like the NC has the worst Heavy Assault machine gun? It seems like pretty much every other gun in the game can out DPS it in a fight, even if I activate the shield.
Why does it feel like the NC has the worst Heavy Assault machine gun? It seems like pretty much every other gun in the game can out DPS it in a fight, even if I activate the shield.
Because it's inaccurate as fuck.
Because it's inaccurate as fuck.
I'm using the IRNV and the grip. I decided to see if the suppressor was reducing the damage, and apparently either A: It's just a placebo and I happen to be doing much much better, or B: The suppressor reduces the damage by a ridiculous amount. I expected it to reduce damage, but not this much.
I hear it just gives you a slightly slower projective with slightly more drop. [editline]25th September 2012[/editline] Either way it is insignificant
I hear it just gives you a slightly slower projective with slightly more drop. [editline]25th September 2012[/editline] Either way it is insignificant
I think it also prevents you from showing up on the map when you fire.
Yeah that is the primary purpose.

Dear god I tried playing again, I have no idea whats going on, I get killed instantly, the game is still forcing that blurry weird shit again and I can't force AA therefore the game looks terribly jaggy, the game runs at 30 fps on all low and 30 fps on all high. I think I might just wait to play this when they release the full version. So far this game has been TERRIBLE for me, it takes me forever to find an enemy and when I do I get instant killed because I can't aim in this 30 fps mouse laggy bullshit. Yeah and I don't know how to get rid of this mouse lag, nothing should be causing it at all. All this shit has really put me off of one of my biggest anticipated games.
that's too bad dude. you're missing out
Just got invited to the beta today, have had a whale of a time! Trying to get better at flying Liberators and doing more support roles since my PC isn't strong enough (or at least, the CPU isn't) to handle the crazy battles on the ground and not get horribly murdered. Although, my framerate doesn't seem to change dramatically from full high to full low, so its a good excuse to play at highest settings! (well, shadows set to medium but OH WELL)

My computer really isn't all that good compared to what they recommend, but I had it running pretty good up until the last patch even in the craziest of battles.
Who has the beefiest and hard hitting fighters? NC? For some reason I never tried out any of the other two fighters. I just love the design of the Reaver so much. :v:
I wish they would add some kind of system that detects when your game crashes and it would refund you the cost of your vehicle and reset it's vehicle timer. I'm starting to get kind of tired of buying a Reaver and flying around for 5 minutes then suddenly crash. It doesn't happen every time, but when it does, god damn is it irritating.
I just wish they'd stop spawning you and forcing you to drive forward
