I've shot down a couple aircraft as an infiltrator. People never seem to have the small-arms-fireproofing thing certed.
I was almost destroyed once and a single burst from an assault rifle managed to finish me off

I've killed at least three scythes that way. I wonder if there will be a patch today/tomorrow. I guessing not. And even if they tried introducing an entire new continent and performance update in the same patch we all know most things are going to break and be taken down for 24-48 hours.

I guess all certs that are 999999 are not implemented/don't work.

Holy shit. I never would've thought that Sonys Support could apologize properly. After them banning my Planetside 2 account accidently, or for any other reason they did not tell me, with all my purchased stuff. (2000 station points and Alpha Squad) After contacting support and some chatting with that support lady they unbanned my account and added 500 station point as compensation for me being unable to play. :v:
Higby just had a stream showing off the new patch, showing some new features such as: -New shield generator mechanic where attackers plant charges that defenders can disarm, sort of like the rush gamemode in Battlefield. Defenders can still repair shield generators after they get destroyed. -New weapon sidegrades, 2 carbines, 2 assault rifles, 2 lmgs and 2 sniper rifles for each empire. (No shotguns and no new pistols yet but Higby said they will come Soon™) -And of course, Esamir [img]http://i.imgur.com/5iZhU.jpg[/img] Also more optimization. Higby said patch will drop Thursday at midnight (PDT). In the patch, characters are getting wiped and there will only be two servers up, one US and one EU. They're really wanting to stress test the servers.
is there any easy way to find (ground) vehicle resupply points, i can't really seem to figure out a pattern as to their locations

also i really wish they'd make commonpool vehicles more distinct for each faction, if it's out of ID range in a base turret i have no way of telling whether it's a friendly or enemy without shooting

So this next patch is either going to be one of the biggest since the launch of the beta, or follow the trend of the previous two patches and become the biggest clusterfuck of all time. One of the things I don't like that I'm seeing from the devs is that they're confirming more features as "Definitely something we want to do eventually, but not before launch" then they are actual features that we'll be seeing anytime soon. It makes me think that they really need to rethink their release schedule to get some more interesting features into the game to make the best first impression. It'll be interesting in the case of sniper rifles to see them starting equal, because as far as I'm aware the TR auto-sniper is already a two-shot kill from a distance. I wonder how the NC rifle will compare to it?

Nearly every Planetside 1 video that I've watched (never played it myself, though) has contained some portion of water combat, which looked like it would fit the whole "MASSIVE BATTLES ON A MASSIVE SCALE" theme they're always pushing. It would be pretty cool to see an entire armada just roll up onto a beach D-day style and rush a base. That, and I see it being asked about constantly, so it's clearly a feature people want them to build continents with and around.
I can't really tell because people/Higby were throwing out "Thursday night/Friday morning" which I assume means around this time, but the patch IS coming tonight, right? I think it was, actually. If things are being stresstested, that makes more sense.
Just saw the video. I'm excited, especially since we'll only have a total of two servers now. Hopefully we'll see a lot more combat now. Esamir looks great too. I like all of the changes he mentioned, and I really do hope that the optimization will make me able to play as I used to before.
Yeah I just finished watching the video. Esamir looks more like a true planetside cont. Big walled bases separated by larger distances of mostly open ground. The server reduction and increased pop cap is going to be nice as well. [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] Also HA battlerifles are coming hnnngh, sadly not in the next patch though.
