Planetside 2 Thread v2 - Beta floodgates open GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY

Yo, a friend of mine would like to test this game out with me. Could anyone throw a spare beta key? I'd pass it on to him in Steam right now if you got any. I didn't get one in mail, as I understand beta players get one in mail to pass on.
Lol so much for that

Nothing is better than finding a spawn sunderer surrounded by a ton off infantry and just shooting in the pond of NC scum and scoring 20 kills in 1 minute.
Shotguns! YEEEAAAHHh! Time to get surgical with those bitches!

Wow if they mean this then does that mean you will be able to get gun parts and level your characters abilities really fast but have to work for your new guns or do you think they will just change every things prices again.
This will be really interesting and probably very un balanced for a bit until they get the cost right for everything considering how much stuff will be all under cert unlocks.

i was just thinking this
since the auraxium would be tied directly to exp gain why have it at all, just use exp to purchase things
Wow that is quite the change.
I didn't have very high hopes for PS2 during the first few weeks of beta, but the dev team has been very receptive towards feedback and they've dramatically improved the game. Even though it's only in beta, I've had some of my most incredible/fun gaming experiences playing it. Hopefully the team maintains this attitude post-launch.

This kinda makes sense though. With the shop it was a bit confusing, for new players at least. You had to buy weapons and then cert addons to these weapons with certs, no buying. Now you just, like, have access to everything, except you have no idea how to use it, so you cert it up.
It also makes 1 less thing to worry about, as in balancing the passive gain, tying it to XP etc.

This is where I was until about a week ago as well, but now it's fun as hell. If they optimize it a bit more and reduce the grind I'll probably buy membership.
Every time I log in I get a little bit more into this game. Today, I somehow managed to get into a thirty-odd tank column in the Terran Republic Wargate. It was pretty epic, except my game crashed about 700m out.
So I'm guessing weapons and stuff will be bought with certs.
right? :c
Vanu Infs already spawn with a shotgun, so it's okay
Man, I can't wait to put some hellfire rockets on my mosquito and provide some close air support for my teammates on the ground. I'm not having any fun at all with that dinky little machine gun.
Is there a way to prevent jetpack to stop working ALL the time?
i've gotten pretty good at mossie control, so i love that dinky little machine gun. great at any range
Is it me, or is fighting a NC 1 on 1 impossible?
With the higher amount of players per server, flying the Gal has become a lot more fun (until a friendly ESF says "fuck you" by flying into you). I just hope i can gain some more Xp in a future patch, around 10-20 xp per drop if the soldiers are competent.
Another key for you fine gentlemen.

That's hilarious because It's true (unless they are attacking with a tank column)

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating actually. I was in two squads, in two separate engagements we ultimately lost because no one thought it was a good idea to flank, or revive.
I was in a squad after that was actually very successful and fun to be in, and even as we lost or had to give up ground we were wiping the fucking floor with VS and TR.
Our platoon leader actually had our squads doing different things. As in being in two different territories and communicating status and instructions to both. One of the best fights I had today was in one of the centrally located hydrophonics labs that bordered VS and TR territory, and our other squad was in an adjacent territory to help but of the zurvan amp station.
Essentially we were battling TR for the beginning, probably because they needed to pass us in order to get to the amp station. And we were getting trickles of VS infiltrators or heavies. Soon the focus shifted to a more VS oriented assault, as the TR troops bled away. It was a pretty heavy attack too, waves of 4 mag riders and a massive VS infantry assault.
Also, I'm about half way to getting the auraxium needed for a shotgun. Anyone have one yet? Are they good? NC by the way.

According to the forums, the certs for them are currently messed up, and the NC has the certs for the TR shotgun and vice versa. I don't know if they still work since I don't have the shotgun, but I figured I'd wan you just in case.

Yeah, I noticed that. I looked in the store and saw the NC shotgun was the Pounder or something, and the certs was the nightstalker or something.
This makes me a little nervous, since I was saving up certs for the Slug ammo.
I'll consider myself wanned though.
i've lately been doing nothing but healing and reviving people, i'm such a friendly person

Huge fight at one of the camps surrounding a Biolab at Indar, I played medic, constantly healing and reviving for about 15 minutes. Shit felt like the Civil War.

Was it Rashnu Biolab? Because I was doing the same thing, but inside the thing.
I just got into the BETA ! :D
I feel like I'm one of the most murderous medics on the planet sometimes. I kill so many enemies.
