is it me or is it that when people uses the voip it sounds like they're speaking through a radio? I'm not sure if it was one guy's mic that I kept hearing or if it's a neat little feature.
From the few voices I've heard they came through very clear, I actually thought it sounded too good.
Gahh, i am giving up on trying to get a key, i've waited on three seperate twitters waiting for 3 hours.
They post
Someone else takes it.
it really really annoys me that, due to the fact that I live in the great southern land, I don't ever get to play for more than 10 minutes a day before the servers go down.
Is there a reason the servers aren't 24/7?

Smed rushed the open closed beta, and everything's broken.

The only chance I get to play is when the servers open at 11PM, and that is only for an hour at most before I go to sleep for school the next day.

same here, bro.
Playing on EST1, vanu seems to always have the lowest pop at around 20% but past right after the servers start up we hold our shit as if we were on equal ground.
If vanu is at 20% pop, then the other two factions are split between 80%, or about 40% population each. meaning every vanu soldier is worth two NC or TR soldiers. What does that mean for you smurfs and elmos.

By the way, the spawning system is somewhat confusing. it seems as if it only lets you spawn near where you die, which sucks especially if you join a squad thats consantly moving in a galaxy and you end up being forced to spawn at a base you died at during a drop, after they've already moved on.
There's always instant action btw tbh i dont see the reasoning on preventing players to spawn near their squadmates if not just being able to pick spawns anywhere. Perhaps they did it to try to give the world a more persistent feel where you actually have to move around the world map instead of spawning? But that doesnt really work in a game where you die so often anyway and when the front lines move so much.
So I can finally try out this game after waiting for so long with my Twitter Key, but I only got to know that the beta opened for me as I already was not at home at my gaming station. I tried playing with my laptop, but being built 2008, it runs 15 frames a second while standing still, and when I walk it has these 1 second stutterings every 3 seconds. On the lowest setting.
On Wednesday, I will come home, and then I will finally be able to play. And not suffer.
Is there a reason the servers aren't 24/7?
Because there is no point for them to be open 24/7 from a development point of view at this stage, I don't think they're doing it just to piss people off.
They perform background shit all the time so the servers will be going up and down all the time anyway.
probably to focus 100% on fixing stuff instead of having to spend time on keeping the servers working fine (which I would imagine, takes some effort for so many players)

Nodachi are you on EU1? I think I was in a squad with you 2 days ago or something

Servers going up
[editline]28th August 2012[/editline]
except EU1 as of now for some weird reason :v:
Wow, Vanu, as a TR I take back all the shit I've said about you guys, being on your side is by far my favourite at the moment. Escorting three Sunderers with five scythes, spotting SIX TR tanks (4 big, 2 small) and pulling off some serious shit that happens mostly in singleplayer games. The trucks had to stop on one side of the hill while we took out all the tanks, it was probably the wildest experience I've ever had! And your iron/reflex sights are sexy as fuck.
dat shockwave...

annihilating a squad of six with liberator missiles in five seconds is one of the greatest, most evil feelings that a game can give you
guys planetside 2 is desensitising me to the horrors of war. goddamnit smedley
The fight for the Indar Excavation Site tower on EU1 is amazing.
NC attacking the TR tower with lots of tanks and aircraft, looks great man.
I love fights on the northern region, with big planes and stuff perfect for vehicle warfare

Is that in-game or a picture of the developers? I wanna know what that is.
Woah! Thanks again to Talkbox, for giving me his account! ^^
I've been looking for a game like this ever since I was a kid. I thought MAG might pull it off, but that was total disappointment. . . This on the other hand, is something else entirely, and epic times were had.
First life ever, I drop podded onto a completely empty enemy based and capped two points, then stood there, not knowing what to do, until a huge squad of 10+ with mics arrived and I chased after them, getting gunned down from someplace.
I'm really liking flying the tiniest aircraft, I feel like Anakin. Flew across the map, had a bunch of guys tailing me, and was pulling all these sweet stunts with the afterburner, twirling and ducking and flying in between terrain and beneath bridges. Shit was cash. First round in the thing, I flew and found two enemy galaxies(They were in a badass convoy), and felt like one of the German fighters during the allied air raids. Shot them a bunch, mostly missed, then decided to go Japanese and turbo crashed into the first one. My ship bounced off like a harmless mosquito and I exploded :c
This morning, I dropped into an enemy base and our guys were being mopped up, we had like 2 bars on the scale, so I thought it'd be cool to spawn one of those armored cars. I got in, nobody joined me, and I had the greatest time ever speeding in between tanks and shit from the enemy team, considering I was like the only guy left from my faction while both purple and red were in full force, battling, they'd see the one dumbass in a bright blue truck from the hillbilly faction doing figure-eights in between them. The shields to enter one of the main buildings were down, and all the purple dudes were gathered inside, so I kept looping in and out through the doors, running over 2-3 guys each time. Eventually I bit off more than I could chew, and faced a sneaky mech-suit guy who blew the shit outta me. Epic.
I joined the hillbilly rebel faction with the horrendous rock music because my friends already had, so *shrug*
Been on twitter for 3 days trying to get a key. Got one reply and the guy didn't even send it.
Does anyone have an extra one?
I'm beginning to think the e-mail beta signup means nothing

Wait 6-7 hours until Tolmek or whatever his name is signs onto twitter, then ask something along the lines of " I am ready to embark upon a quest. " He'll tell you to do something stupid, like paste a picture of cats, then he'll send you a key once you actually complete the task.
Trench warfare at EU 1 zurvan amp
TR with a galaxy behind the hill on one side of the road, vanu with their base on the other.
