This game is really fun so far, my only complaint is the weapon lock seems too easy to get. In chaotic base fights its really hard not to get team kills, I have about a 1.8 KD ratio right now but i's sure it could be a lot better if not for the weapon lock. Also need a key so my friend can play, other then that though its great.
AA really needs a damn nerf, get 5 people on AA in an area and suddenly the skies are shut down.

Are you saying that a plane should be able to survive more than five AA gunners at a time?

Only trouble ive had with weapon lock is people sitting infront of veh pads in the middle of a base fight. Even then, I've never gotten lock - just really close
Its really not that hard to not shoot team mates. Even in a crowded base fight, there are front lines to where enemies are. Dont throw grenades and do stupid bullshit if you know there are friendlies in the target area. It's pretty easy to have a little bit of restraint and hold fire if theres a swarm of friendlies infront of you. If you really want to go after a target, get IN that group of friendlies instead of trying to shoot around them.
AA 2.8 taught me how to play as a good non-teamkilling player. Especially since in that game, if you killed a teammate you got -150 or so RoE (rules of engagement), and if you got enough (usually not much more than that amount) you get booted from the game. RoE also reduced your "honor", which is basically your battle-rank in planetside terms. Players with high honor got first dibs on weapons/classes, which meant that if you had low honor you generally got stuck with the grunt roles.
AKA, you didn't kill teammates. Even if a teammate was stupid and ran infront of your fire, it was said it is still your fault - you should have been situationally aware of what was going on, and not been firing when teammates are crossing your fire lane in a high traffic area.
So yeah, totally possible to be effective and not kill teammates in base battles.
its basically the best feeling in the world to sneak your way around back of a heavy max defense and drop a c4 in the middle of all of them
I never teamkill with vehicle weapons or infantry weapons, but when I get into a Magrider it's TK central. People will just walk into my tank as I'm maneuvering it.
If there is anything that needs a nerf it is the Skyguard and the Burster for the MAX.
Even a SINGLE one of either of those can shut down the entire airspace around a facility. Defending the skies should be a team effort - not something a single man can do.
the biggest problem i have with AA atm is rendering speed and recognition. MAX units have the same render priority as normal infantry, so often times i'll find burster maxes popping into view as soon as it's too late to turn around.
not to mention maxes are fairly small and not immediately identifiable against other types, the latter also applying to skyguard lightnings. i can't really tell what i'm up against until i'm eating a flak sandwich. again, by the time it's too late to turn around

The biggest problem I have with AA maxes is that the enemy can just suddenly shit 20 of them out of their spawn doors if they feel like aircraft are a large enough problem since anybody can swap to a MAX suit. You'll be flying around doing a few strafing runs and kill 2 or 3 people, then suddenly 3 MAX suits walk out with AA guns and shove 50 AA rounds into your ass all at the same time and there's no way to escape it since MAX suits don't have limited firing angles like turrets and the Skyguard does. If I start getting shot buy turrets or a Skyguard, I instantly dive down to ground level and get away as quickly as possible. The turrets can't hit you since they can only aim so low, and the Skyguard can't hit you since (usually) the terrain is in the way. However, a MAX standing on any kind of slightly raised platform basically has no angle weakness, nor do they have a limit on how fast they can turn around and start firing to their hearts content even if you try to shoot them from behind.
Usually what I do when I'm in an AA turret (in my own base or in a hacked enemies) is I'll wait until enemy air units get closer so they don't realize I'm there. I don't start firing until they get to the point where they won't escape even if they turn around. If you start shooting at them the second they pop into render distance, they'll usually just fly away.
Skyguards are insane. A single one will deny air attack for an entire group spread across several hexes.
huge infantry charge to take a facility on a hill and the fucking tech hippie zealots run ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US over with their plastic hovertanks, without firing a shot, just cruising down the hill right at us at full speed and crushing us
i swear there was only five of them but they flattened like 30 people and they didn't even start shooting until we decided to leg it
needless to say, for us survivors it was a tail-between-legs tactical retreat to the nearest facility with the damn tanks and a bunch of aircraft harassing us all the way and picking us off like targets on a firing range, had lots of healing to do when we finally got there
Goddammit the servers went down and took my entire computer with it. I think the last time PS2 shut down properly was over a week ago.
ugh i just realized the suit modifications aren't passive bonuses and you have to equip them
i wasted so many certs on perks I wont use
I was flying in my mosquito and got shot down by a VS manta turret.
Also id like to see some better fly mechanics you should be able to look around in your cockpit just like in bf3 and the outside cam could be a bit better.
If I hold my melee key I can look around the cockpit.
Have to try that out then, also how can you support ground units better with the mosquito?
Because you can get shot down easily because it doesn't have that much health.
Yesterday i was able to help against a fortress where i destroyed the AA and AT guns.
Whenever I run over to a Magrider to get in the second seat, the driver always turns and drives towards me to save time running and ends up killing me
I hope I'm not late.

Anyone else feel like the game is very sluggish?
I always have around 30 fps and i feel like the game isn't smooth anyone got any fixes or similar you would think you could get 60 fps with a GTX670...
Anyone got more cdkeys? I want to play this game so bad
when are they going to let us use our station cash?!
Hooooly shit, it's never been more satisfying to move in a group before. I was just moving up against a NC facility as a TR and there were 2 Galaxies and 3 Sunderers (all packed, with air support from mosquitoes and liberators, with 2 lightnings alongside the Sunderers), and about 20 men (with 5 in MAXes). It gave me the feeling that I was actually contributing to something bigger. Ridiculous, I know, but God, that was some morale boosting shit.
Are you saying that a plane should be able to survive more than five AA gunners at a time?
Across a canyon? Yes. Point blank? No. AA needs to be that deterrent from getting closer to the base to provide air support rather than the thing that keeps you out of the area in general.
I know this has been asked before, but does TR have a Eurydome (Is that it's name, can't remember) outfit?
I'd love to play some later today, but I'd rather play organized than with a bunch of randoms doing shit all to co-ordinate.
Well today me and Hezzy are getting off our arses and set up Ministry of Love. With all the wipes and server changes we've not bothered yet.
I'll buzz you on steam later.
Couple nights ago, I was defending the Crown on Lysibea East (or something) as TR
The Nickelback Conglomerate were storming up the sidewinder road to the north, and our dumbass defenders kept getting their heads shot off as soon as they peaked over a hill.
I grab a Prowler, and my buddy hops in the gunner seat. I turn it down onto the north road, and floor it, crushing a dozen NC Heavy Assaults under the treads, then I fling it off the side of the cliff and land on top of a Vanguard. I die, of course, but it was fucking badass.
We repeated it again with my buddy driving, me gunning. Some dumbass NC parked a Flash or something on one of the switchbacks, with the headlights on, so we could see the approaching shadows of incoming smurfs. We got several dozen kills as HAs kept rounding the corner only to eat a pair of 100mm HEAT shells, or infiltrators thinking they could sneak past my twin 20mm cannon.

I'll be home in around an hour, I'm logged on my desktop just as a FYI, so don't go typing shit I'll miss. :)
The only time I get TK's are for trivial crap like accidently crashing my aircraft with teamates on board or for accidentally running over people who walk in front of my vehicles before I can slam on the brakes.
I do not understand the whole "Stop walking in front of my line of fire" bullshit. Guns stop fireing the nanosecond you let go of the trigger. If your situational awareness and reflxex are that poor then you shouldn't be playing multiplayer games. (I don't direct this at you KorJax).
Press H to enlarge your mini-map and look where your teammates are
Press T to enter third-person in a vehicle so you can see behind you to check for teammates
Approach landing pads slowly, firing warning shots if needed
Seriously, it's not hard to not kill teamates by doing stupid crap.
I've found avoiding TK'ing teammates is actually not at all as easy to avoid as you guys think it is. And a lot of it is in their stupidity and lack of situational awareness. For instance, I was briefly in that crown assault that TR guy talked about on lydia or whatever east.
In those erosion beds, fellow NC troopers and squadmates would constantly and stupidly attempt to run to the top and get gunned down. What did I do? I got as low as possible and popped some TR's in the head as soon as they tried the same thing. The trouble was, when I was in a pitched firefight with one or two TRs some fucking moron would run through the middle of an already tight and extremely confined spot and take a shot or two from me either killing them because of the fire they were also taking from the TR guys, or hurting them, and blocking my shot.
Yes firing stops the moment you release the LMB, but when fighting someone in an an extremely close fight, you don't have the luxury of checking your minimap. Teammates should know better not to run in front of another teammate in situations like that, which happen quite frequently in this game. If they get TK'd by me for their own stupidity, boo fucking hoo for them I say, learn how to avoid stupid shit like that.
Now if I am genuinely at fault, I'll revive them and say sorry, but otherwise I feel like they have to learn somehow.
Same thing for tank assaults on towers. MANY,MANY fucking times have infantry thought it was a spectacular idea to wedge themselves in between tanks or to stand right next to one while it is trying to avoid rocket or other tank fire. It's fucking ridiculous what I've seen. Like there was this TINY narrow passage between my tank and a rock, and despite there being a slightly longer route around the rock, that was even safer from enemy fire they still chose the more direct one that I was constantly backing my tank through.
I mean come on I'm trying to kill enemy heavies and other tanks and in general trying to keep a very valuable and lethal piece of equipment functioning, so no I'm not going to look out for teammates that get underfoot in tight scenarios, I'm trying to stay alive.
I mean who lacks more situational awareness; a tank driver that's trying to avoid rockets and tank shells or a fucking moron that plays chicken with a gigantic hundred tonne tank that's maneuvering as best it can in a narrow space?
and on that note to infantry; STAY OFF THE FUCKING ROADS!I mean jesus christ, you may run down the middle of the street in real life making car or truck noises, but when a whole column of tanks and sunderers is trying to book it to defend a territory or tower you are either going to get A) SQUICHED TO ALL HELL or B) Slow us the fuck down as we wait for the children to get out of the street.
I do think friendly vehicle damage needs to be nerfed to hell though, like at the worst, it should take out the bumped infantry's shields or something, maybe even remove a couple health bars. Killing them instantly is just stupid, and is especially annoying for engineers repairing vehicles.

Woo! I will speed even more quickly towards my shotgun!
I have like 2580 or so Aux, and it has been really grindtastic considering all the revives caps, kills and everything I have been doing lately.
Looking for a beta key!
Do NC and Vanu often work towards taking all of TR's hexes? Every day I log on that seems to be the case.
*Spawns tank*
*Dumbasses on the Vehicle pads get TKd*
*Weapons locked for god knows how long*
