Oh snap I missed the fact that it's free to play, that's awesome. So if not through alpha squad, how can I get into the beta? Also would the beta progress even carry over to full release or should I just wait a month?
Does the cert thing still work?
you forgot the part where there was fanatical techno zealots who worshipped aliens and rebellious teenagers who blasted rock music too loud for TR ears to handle
The NC are not really the rebellious teenagers in PS any more. They're just supporters of Corporatism where as the TR are trying to maintain Republicism and the VS are trying to worship Vanu dragon-dildos. [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline]
Seems like regular army vs Regular army vs purples.
Although the NC has always been portrayed as SPACE AMERICA, and is the defacto poster-faction in the game.
Ti alloys. EVERY GODDAMN TIME NC
Although the NC has always been portrayed as SPACE AMERICA, and is the defacto poster-faction in the game.
The default poster... thing... should be the planet of Auraxis itself, fair representation then.
TR represents a totalitarian government that restricts personal freedom. They are in some ways similar to Warhammer 40k's Imperials. That said, this government also ensures that all of its citizens are cared for in an almost communist fashion. It's not that the TR government doesn't care about its people, it's that it cares too much. NC troopers fight for freedom and think they're doing the right thing, but their fight is backed by major corporate sponsors, who also control much of the NC army. It is obvious to everyone but the NC soldiers themselves that the corps intend to take over government with the illusion of free will presented in the form of "democracy". NC is basically America in space. VS believes that the alien tech is the way of the future. They believe in the unrestricted study of science and technology and consider themselves free-thinkers. On the other hand, the TR/NC abhor their human modification and their integration into the alien technology, saying they are going against the purity and/or natural progression of mankind. VS is basically run by a council of scientists and other men considered especially intelligent, who claim that the NC and TR are just ignorant fools. VS is sort of a quasi-religious group that is committed to furthering science, but is willing to do so no matter the cost.
Would be great if we ever get a webview of the current state of each server's maps...
All that is planned for post launch.
So I had 48 certs to get a Skyguard. As soon as I buy it I capture a base, and get 2 more cert points. I see that suddenly I have 50 certs, so I buy a Burster too. Aircraft, prepare your anus. I'm going in dry.
i'm hoping they bring back the phantasm and the flail
How come a scythe going at 320 m/s can't outrun a missile anymore?
This seems like a hard thing to design honestly.

Massive, lumbering mechs a la AT-ATs would be fucking awesome imagine something where platoons can pool their resources together to build one at a main base
There, fixed. Also, only buildable on Esamir. :v:
Here's my extra beta key for anyone that wants one: HR67-RZZD-J2H4-ZTEN-4D9A
Here's my extra beta key for anyone that wants one: HR67-RZZD-J2H4-ZTEN-4D9A
Thanks, my friend has been dying to play.
So there's different continents that all look differently? I think i've only been to esamir.
So there's different continents that all look differently? I think i've only been to esamir.
There will be 3 on launch with many more coming post-launch.
80% of my beta installation through, got invited just today. As with many, many others, the most I can expect so far is giant-ass Battlefield (in other people's words, not mine). Any advice or things to expect / know ahead of time for a newbie?
join vanu
yeah vanu is great for people who have no idea how to play the game
yeah vanu is great for people who have no idea how to play the game
I would much rather use NC power rifles with accuracy that is piss easy to manage than lower damage Vanu rifles with good accuracy all the time. Vanu probably does help a lot of newbie FPS players, but if you've been playing FPS games for years and years and years there's not a big difference between any of the factions, at least with the standard weapons.
NC is where its at. [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline] We have cool start up music! [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline] I love how vehicle weapons are now like 200 certs [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline] /sarcasm
Just something to note, the Vanu consistently hold a third of the map even with ~30% population.
Just something to note, the Vanu consistently hold a third of the map even with ~30% population.
So it's well balanced? The NC can hold half the map with about 28% pop
And then the NC gets a 40% pop around the corner. I just wanted to say that the Vanu hold their own when they're consistently underpopulated.
The Vanu just got the shit end of the stick, pretty much. It's a shame because lore-wise it's the faction I'd want to go with. [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline] Except the Magrider, that's pretty cool I guess.
So it's well balanced? The NC can hold half the map with about 28% pop
NC has trouble holding anything for more than 5 minutes
Consistently dominating with the lowest pop is part of the reason I'll probably play VS when the game comes out.
Consistently dominating with the lowest pop is part of the reason I'll probably play VS when the game comes out.
Vanu 4 LYFE Speaking of which we just had a concerted effort between 3-4 gal pilots and some sundies/tanks to basically capture all of TR territory on Indar west of the warpgate all using pubs This is probably why vanu gets things done~

Everyone is beating up on them. Last night the VS and NC beat them back to the warpgate. Then we went against the NC for a bit, TR got to the cliffs, and we just pushed em back again.
I managed to down a Galaxy with less than 2 mags using a Skyguard with very little help Skyguard is super OP
