It's not just you. You almost always end up wasting time by sniping if you do end up sniping, and they are generally worse at close quarters than every other class because of their primary loadout choices. They have a place in the world, but most classes have more of a place than infiltrators.

Anyone else having issues logging in? Keep trying, getting stuck at 98% on loading textures. Was playing just fine an hour ago. Okay suddenly I'm downloading new files, probably was some update or something.

We can't see enemy names unless we spot people, which we didn't.
Amerish patch preview: http://www.twitch.tv/las0m/b/337499276 Coming "Wednesday Night". Also no beards.
The most annoying thing is the launcher requiring an extra 4GB free if you drop below 8GB of free space at any one time. All my rage when I deleted a bunch of things to free up an extra 4GB and it downloaded a mother fucking 2kb file.
Yeah and people actually store downloaded videos and old games on their harddrives.
Thank fucking god anti-air is getting nerfed in the next patch. I want burster max's to be effectively useless on their own.
I want burster max's to be effectively useless on their own.
I want the ESF to be useless on their own :downs:
Tried it first time since being in the tech test.. Performance still not great on decent machine. Thought it would've been better due to being released in 3 week and giving them time to do something.
How the fuck are you meant to evade another ESF in a scythe considering it's "ability" is 'gains altitude faster' Remind me again how that is of ANY use in a firefight? I'd take TR's 20% damage increase on the cannon or NCs better speed and manoeuvrability any day.

The easiest way to win a fight in this is to just come to a dead stop and use vertical thrust to continue moving while keeping your target in your sights. You basically just fly circles around them and they won't be able to get a decent shot on you.
I guess I'm really lucky because I have had zero performance issues the whole testing period on mostly high settings on an i5 2500k and 8gb of ram w/ a 560ti. It's a good machine sure, but it runs perfect on it. Sure I don't get 60+fps all the time, but to me 30fps is perfectly smooth and I can't remember the last time I got below that. If I really wanted more than 60FPS I would have invested more into stronger, more high-end hardware. I think the performance issues mostly stem from the fact that lower settings aren't very optimized at all for any hardware (meaning if your hardware has to run on lower settings than high, it probably will run bad universally), and higher settings are only optimized for certain hardware configurations. In other words, the game runs perfect if you have the right combonation of things (and a lot of combonations are supported) but runs terribad if you don't. AKA it doesn't scale with hardware very well at all, you either have the right stuff it looks for and can run everything perfect or you don't and it will struggle to get above 20-30 fps, even if your hardware isn't "bad" by any means.
Yeah I have the same rig as you but with a 7850 and I don't run into any real problems. ~60 highest, 35ish lowest and about 40-50 average. I'm going to try overclocking again to see if I can get better.
You guys don't have anything on my rig: Windows XP 32-bit LGA 775 socket Q6600 Quadcore @ 2.4 Ghz RAM: 3Gb DDR2 666mhz ATI Radeon 5770 in a basic PCI Express x16 (1.0) slot because my motherboard (Asus P5B) doesn't even have a 2.0 slot. Yet, somehow, with this age old rig I can still get 40fps at the Warpgate and about 20fps at The Crown. This is with all settings on low (though when I change it to all high settings, I only lose about 5 fps from my min/max values). I have no idea how this computer even works anymore with newer games. Eventually I will be screwed when games start to require DirectX 10+ since XP doesn't support it, meaning I will need to upgrade to either Vista, 7, or 8.
i found out last night you can fly a scythe down the bridges with a steady hand. Take that reaver pilot.
Has any faction managed to lose all of their territory in any of the current servers? Last night on my server the Vanu were close to losing all of their territory, but they managed to push back right before I logged off.
Yes.
AMD Athlon II 640 AMD HD7870 8gb DDR3 RAM @ 1600Mhz I get max 35fps, average is probably about 20 and my lowest in big battles is probably about 10. I have the shitty CPU because this PC is very old and when I originally built it I had a small budget. Since then I've bought new ram and a new graphics card. The best part is I only have a 19" monitor and I play on 1440x900 but still get terrible performance. When I put it on my dad's 23" monitor @1920x1080 I got the exact same performance so it's quite clearly the CPU fucking it for me.
Intel i7 3770 8gb DDR3 GTX 670 HDD I can get 60 FPS on max graphics everywhere but in battles greater than 40-50 per side which it will drop down to a stable fps in the range of 30-35. Only time it dropped below there was when it bugged out when I joined a squad and somehow turned into a power-point presentation.
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4ghz 3gb DDR2 GTS 450 1gb Average FPS (two patches ago) was about 10 Haven't played in a while because of this. I remember when I just got in the beta my FPS averaged around 35 (aka playable). [editline]31st October 2012[/editline] hello page 146
i7 950 @ 3GHz 6GB DDR2 GTX 460 1GB All High. ~60 at warpgate, 30-40 average, dips to 25 in battles, 20 in big battles.
Athlon II X40 630 8GB DDR HD5750 60~ at warpgates, tanks to ~20 in big fights.
Core2duo 3GHz 4 Gigs RAM ATI 5770 2Gig On medium settings I get max 40 FPS and min 15 FPS in big battles.
I put everything on low with i5 + Gtx 260 and I get 30 fps minimum. Still looks great.
Q6600 3.2ghz 4 GB ram ATi 4870x2 crossfire 20-30 fps on low. what is this shit.
I finally got a beta key, time to give this game a try
The controlled territory can change rapidly within a few hours. When I logged on earlier, we were down to almost just the Warpgate, but over an hour or two, we had taken back a nice chunk of the map.
Did you own The Crown? Whoever owns The Crown is doomed to be warpgated until they give it up. Your entire empire could defend that fucking tower and it still wouldn't be enough.
Quoting someone from in-game chat yesterday: "We (TR) managed to take The Crown back, but is it a blessing or a curse?" I instantly replied with "Curse." Taking The Crown isn't really all that hard if you can get a slight amount of organization. Just get at least 25-30 people and like 4 Sunderers. Have them all rush up the hill and just get somewhere around the base, then have them all deploy so you have 4 spawn points around the base. After that, the first thing you'll want to do is have a majority set up around the spawn, and the rest go clear everyone else out. In the end, the only important part is whether you can get set up around their spawn or not. As soon as a side is set up around a spawn, victory is basically assured. After saying that, a major issue with this game becomes apparent. Spawn camping is a massive problem in this. It's not even as simple as "spawn at a nearby base" either. Sometimes the terrain between 2 bases is ridiculous. Even if the terrain is decent enough to get across, you would still need to get "a few" people to spawn at the next closest base, and I put "a few" in quotes because it completely depends on how many people they have attacking your base, and how many tanks and aircraft they have flying around. If it's a zerg rush, there's basically no chance of holding a base. The only bases that can even survive a zerg rush are major facilities, and they're able to survive because they at least have decent defenses, something basically none of the outposts have.
