Light assault ought to be renamed infiltrator. At one of the tech plants I wanted to infiltrate the heavily fortified base and overload their main generator. So I rolled a LA and flanked the huge zerg battle which was going on. I used my fully certed jumpjet to take cover from rooftop to rooftop, balcony to balcony. I had several opportunities to get an easy kill on unsuspecting enemies but I had my objective in mind. So avoiding any conflicts I made it to the main facility which was crawling with enemy resistance. I flew straight from a rooftop and on to the roof of the facility which had several roof exits for the landing pads. I made my way down using my jumpjet and managed to completely avoid the mass of troops on the lower floors. Then made my way to the generator which was being guarded by another LA. A short burst from my silenced assault rifle and he went down, made my way up and overloaded that motherfuckeer. Then I hear my squad leader on the voice com say "Yeah, we got this now" All this while all the infiltrators on our team are sitting on a hill sniping the zerg :v:
Yeah, they should really give infil a jetpack(Maybe make it share the power from the cloak?) [editline]8th November 2012[/editline] Also I love how everyone on the forums are bitching about the health regen that isn't even an issue, while being silent on them DOUBLING the exp needed for a cert.

It takes 40 seconds for a full regen, plus 20 seconds for the healing to start in the first place . Most people don't even wait for medics to heal them anyway as it is, it takes too long for their aspie brains to sit through the 2 seconds a medic needs. Not a fan of giving jetpacks to the infil class though. I would just like to see more stealth gear for the LA, like a better suppressor for the carbines and stuff like that.
The doubling the cert exp need isn't that bad guys. They're increasing the amount of exp sources while plugging the exp bug holes. Plus they'll balance it like all F2P games on those who partake in the premium schemes. We're still going to see maxed character classes in like a month of release anyway.
We had a guy stuck in the dead pose next to our generator in our base, he was invincible and couldn't attack us but he could sabotage our generator... That was so annoying.
That has happened to me before. Being able to run around like a invincible war reporter getting everyone to shoot me.

It's so easy to spot a "cloaked" person.

And yeah, let's give the grunt infiltration abilities, not the INFILTRATOR.
There was regen in the tech test, which was still really slow but not as slow as they're suggesting. It was fine, and nobody complained.
I want a dense Jungle continent to fight in
I want a volcanic continent with lava rivers and steep hills and lots of bridges to fight on
I want a dense coniferous forest with 200ft trees. like this:
Holy shit they doubled the XP needed for a cert? Well I'm never going to get those photon rockets now.
no, not without that 3k certs they pumped out.
no, not without that 3k certs they pumped out.
I only got 1k :(
Where do you see if you have any beta invite codes to give?
Where do you see if you have any beta invite codes to give?
Emails. Speaking of which: HR3T-PKTE-RZ7C-A32Z-XXXJ
If the Infiltrator gets a jetpack, it should replace the sniper rifle and stick him with just his pistol or some kind of SMG.
John Smedley ‏@j_smedley We have listened to your feedback and we are implementing the ability to try weapons before you buy them - for launch.

If the Infiltrator gets a jetpack, it should replace the sniper rifle and stick him with just his pistol or some kind of SMG.
The infiltrator will likely never get a jetpack, but they seriously need to give him some sort of tool to move around with vertically. It doesn't matter how good you are at infiltrating when you're stuck outside a base because the shields aren't down yet and you have no way of making it onto the walls.

grappling hook like in BF2?
So, how do you make a squad with a custom name? I can invite people to join my squad, which is the only way I know how to make them, but I can't find a button for "make squad" anywhere in the actual menus.
Had my first pitched tank battle today. When the VS and NC tank zergs actually collided. Was pretty awesome, especially being in a AT/AT fagrider with a good gunner on teamspeak.
A thrown grappling hook would be a good engineer or LA ability, actually, as a support option.
yes because we all need walls to be even more redundant

Minus the Jetpack, you can infiltrate and do exactly what you just described with any class at your disposal with some intelligence and a suppressor. [editline]8th November 2012[/editline]
A thrown grappling hook would be a good engineer or LA ability, actually, as a support option.
Why in hell would the LA need a grappling hook? Their jump jets to the job just fine. In fact, that would make jumpjets totally useless as a traversal tool as you wouldn't need to worry about fuel consumption.
There was regen in the tech test, which was still really slow but not as slow as they're suggesting. It was fine, and nobody complained.
The only problem I see with health regen is, well... why bother certing into triage?

Replaces invisibility ability, so its more balanced (you'll be able to go through shields but you won't be able to easily sneak around everywhere). Though I guess that would kind of undermine an infiltrator, that couldn't cloak. Because the cloaking is best for actual infiltraton, but the most valuble targets to be infiltrated will always be behind shields which means you'll never go for the thing that makes you invisible if you want to actually infiltrate bases.
