personally I think they should just have more counters
like make the base ground turrets more powerful, and invinicible, and are disabled by taking out a generator behind the wall
that way you need a strong infantry force, including shield-buster sundies and galaxy hot-drops, to allow big tank assaults to get through
also more classes should have better anti-armour capabilities, like maybe a mini rocklet launcher replacing your sidearm, or more potent and easy to use C4
They're at that awkward phase where nothing will be completely balanced until the game plays out more. If they overbalance they're just going to make more work for themselves and they need to wait and see how the numbers are going to stabilize once the game is released, then balance to that.

can you have characters on different factions? or once you pick a faction are you stuck with it

As far as I know, on launch you'll only be able to join one faction per server.

I some how yesterday manages to coordinated my entire team just by placing a marker on the map. Within the next 2 minutes nearly all the NC was bum rushing a single area I designated with the Platoon way point.

For the most part, people in this game seem to use teamwork and follow the commander's orders pretty well.

The reason is that everyone spam MBTs*, I wish there was some sort of global resource system because as of right now, individual resources are stupid and literally every single players present on the server at the time could literally just ALL buy their own MBT and roll up with nothing but 100% of the population being in a tank.

No, you can have different characters on different factions and servers. Trust me, I tried out all 3 factions before choosing NC.

hey uh, my graphics seem to be stuck on low, because the textures are much worse than what I see in videos and such, is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
also, I've been crashing after playing for a bit (half an hour, or sometimes 10 minutes)
I probably missed some stuff a few pages ago regarding this, so sorry if I'm late

A lot of the footage from E3 with the alpha ect seemed to have much higher quality Textures, I'm assuming theyre rolling out hi-res textures at a later date.

well I mean, just to see if it was just me, I searched youtube for planetside 2 videos and clicked some beginners guide to it, and his textures and others were way better (his gun actually glowed and such)

Times of day, different lighting scenarios ect will effect the way stuff looks dramatically on the Forgelight engine, plus each update seems to change something, beta is beta so give it the benefit of the doubt.
In the tech test there was an Ultra graphic setting, but they removed at near the beta.

Well if you'd like, I think you could unlock "ultra" textures from the ini file. As to your problem, I doubt the change from the Alpha footage to now would make High level textures look like Low. I've played on Low, it's pretty bad. It sounds like a game issue. Would you mind posting a screenshot or something?

Ultra settings are available through the UserOptions ini in the main directory, but few people can actually run it with a decent fps right now.

sure, I'll post a screenshot next time I get a chance, but based off what others are saying this is common
So yesterday I unlocked the 6x scope for my LMG and the AMS system for the sunderer. The scope is near useless without a compensator, but the AMS is the coolest shit ever. I am now the sunderer master.

It took me forever to realize there were attachments and such, now my carbine has a new best friend in the form of the 3.4x sight. Also managed to grind the acquisition timer for the MAX to be significantly lower, NC/VS won't know what hit them.

why would you get such a powerful scope for the lmg?
Could anyone maybe hit me up with a beta key? I'd love to get one.
getting a really awesome spawn point set up with a sunderer feels great, I parked one directly outside a generator that was the center piece to an attack and the points didn't stop flowing until a tank rolled up on me 10 minutes later.
Although With the amount of guys spawning off of me the tank should have been cooked, it bugs me how ignorant most people are when it comes to important shit to do, defending a critical spawn point, not going after enemy sunderers, not helping to repair generators, and generally not working as a team. The baseline for the average player's knowledge seems to be "cap points, shoot dudes" which doesn't work in a serious battle.
