I finally got my ass round to getting into the beta. Question is, New Conglomerate or Terran Republic?

Or Vanu Sovereignty fuck
TR all the way, NC and Vanu are pussy-ass rebel scum and tech-hippie spacepixiewannabes respectively.
been playing for 2 days now
holy shit these graphics are AMAZING for a F2P game
are they going to limit the free players more when the game is released?
Vanu is the only path to enlightment.
Tr & NC? You are better than this rabble.
Fuck it, going Vanu
More glow-in-the-dark target practice for the Republic, excellent!

What you get now is what free players are getting. (don't forget the server queues, if you don't log into prime time)
Speaking of which, apparently they did some amazing optimisation. so im on indar right now on ultra graphics (i've overclocked my card) waiting for sundown, gunna record some.
Is PS2 flat out crashing when trying to load into the main menu?
Are EMP grenades worth it at all? Saving up for them.
I've only used them in combat situations a few times, and I have no idea what their effects actually are, but either through a conveniently timed glitch or a feature of the grenade I believe it locks down the weapons of anyone caught in its blast radius along with bringing down their shields. I base that on the fact that I accidentally EMP'd myself and my HUD stopped giving me readings and I was no longer able to fire my gun, so me and a Vanu heavy assault were stuck looking at eachother for a few seconds before they came back online.

"Enlightenment" in this instance being a funny glow all that radioactive alien laser crap gives your balls.

I would say that yes, especially with a scout rifle, emp grenades are a must have. especially when used against a large group of enemies.
I've seen the results when one of my squadmates tried it.
I also really want to used the SOAS-20 scout rifle. It actually seems to be a bonafide semi auto.
some vanu outfits look dope but their weapons are just too alien for me.
Their weapons are much more interesting than the others.
Also they have a tank that's pretty much the Wraith and that makes me nostalgia over years of playing Halo CE.
Aaaaand the EU servers are down, great.
Just finished a session of Planetside 2 in my outfit.
First I pulled a reaver. Shot down 4 scythes, 2 mosquitoes, and a liberator. After getting shot down I rolled a light assault. I overloaded 3 generators including the main one in an enemy facility, destroyed a tank and several tank terminals with C4. Moved on to another base, took that with my outfit. Then rolled a MAX and took on a TR tower. Using the dual scatterguns I managed to assist my team mates in breaching the upper floors and eventually taking the facility. At this point I was 2 hours into my session, and I had a K/D of 24/3.
All this and I only earned 9 certs..

My point is that I don't feel rewarded at all for my efforts. If I need to spend money to make any kind of progression I'm probably not going to bother playing at release. I was hoping I could play this game free and sometimes splurge money on it for cosmetic items and some "boosts". But now it seems you NEED to spend money to get anywhere. I'm really hoping this gets changed.
How in the hell do you guys fly these things?? Half my flights wind up in upside down freefalls to the ground and an explosion, the other half are the receiving end of a tank shell while i'm trying to fire on it...

But it's not actually progression in terms of power, it's allways sidegrades, it's an artificial feeling in the first place. but maybe its because i just play for fun, seeing as its the most fun ive had in an FPS since BF2.
Also oddly my pc didn't completely melt during a bit of action on ultra. ill upload tonight, wish i could've found a big battle to record though.

Yeah but it's not just improvement I'm looking for. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wants variety in their game and Planetside 2 has it. But I feel like the unlock pages are taunting me, saying "HAHA YOU CAN'T HAVE ME UNLESS YOU PAY". Also most of the upgrades aren't straight up upgrades, but a lot of them are damn useful and do make you more effective. Like dual scatterguns in close combat or dual bursters for an AA max. Not only that, but I'd feel pretty badass as a TR max with those dual chainguns.
Before they nerfed the cert gain I felt like I was able to work towards something like a new upgrade for my weapon. Now It's just hopeless to even try. I'm just playing to play which I guess is fine when I'm having fun. But honestly it was shitloads more fun before they changed it.
I see what you mean, the 700 ones are retardedly high imho. at the very least theirs some 50cert ones for early progression.
One thing that is dumb is there is no cheap-cert scout rifle. :c
The upgrades for the weapons are horribly expensive compared to the gain you get, let alone unlocking a new weapon. I played in a platoon last night where we were just wrecking territories for at least three hours straight, and I only made around 12 certs.

They've done this to give players more incentive to spend money on station cash. Honestly it's just had the opposite effect on me.
Slow cert gain is something that should be expected from a game that is free to play. It is a fantastic game and they need to make money from it aswell.

Bind turn left and turn right to keys. If you learn to use them you'll be a hell of a lot more mobile. Those two keys also help with magriders but can be annoying with the other tanks.

The last cert method was too fast, but this one is too slow. Like someone and many others said they don't feel rewarded for their efforts.
Also is defense certs/exp broken? That's probably killing the whole system atm.
Don't get me wrong, I understand that, but this is looking like Tribe Ascend did back in beta, where prices ended up getting as high as 30 good rounds to unlock a single weapon.
Could someone post the ultra graphics settings with where the ini is?

Holy shit
Sounds like the best grenade replacement to get then. Concussive is nice because it makes you move super slow and you are all blurred but this straight up prevents you from fighting back and also taking out shields from the sounds of it.

Well to be fair you can do ALL of that without paying into certs, which is more than what most F2P games offer. Usually you are locked into very specific classes/vehicles. Here, the entire scope of the game is open from the get go, but some side weapons or a small handful of flat upgrades you can spend certs on, so they aren't nearly as nessicary to have as say... MWO or Tribes: Ascend (if you want a specific class).
That said it would do them more good than harm if they just increased the rate they used to have, because it was perfect. You'd end each session with 5-10+ certs minimum and sometimes up to 20-30+ if you played really well. It felt great, and considering some weapons cost 720 certs to get, it's a nice rate of having 1-2 new weapons per month or so, or a good chunk of class certs, all on a free user. If I had money to spend, I'd still be tempted to spend money in PS2, but without grudging agianst the system for making me feel like I HAVE to spend money on it.

What graphics card do you have? Using an optimized 670 myself(MSI 670 FROZR)
Ive always found flying in planetside 2 so much easier with Mouse & Keyboard than with a joystick for some reason.
Oh god. On Euroydome Or whatever the territory reset itself again. We start capping shit for 5 miniutes then it goes down again.
