Release can't come soon enough. Eagerly waiting to start playing again.
I was kinda skimming the unlockable weapons, and I noticed that there was a NC battle rifle listed, has anyone used it?
So apparently the ingame recorder doesnt actually record at a decent resolution. :(

So I just had a second session of this game, having played it a couple days ago. I have a couple things to say.
1) This game ran like crap even on lowest the first time I played. Today after the patch I'm consistently getting 30 fps on low-medium graphics, except in high intensity situations where it drops to 15ish. Either way this game got optimized very well and I'm glad I don't have to spend money upgrading my pc just to play this game.
2) I joined an outfit today and it was AWESOME. I know it's been said before but it's worth saying again. JOIN AN OUTFIT. It made a huge difference in my enjoyment of the game. Those 2 hours spent vanquishing Vanu scum were some of the most fun I've had with videogames ever.
3) Light assault is kinda lame compared to other classes and infiltrators are dicks.
FPS has been increased by a lot, but I seem to be crashing now in big firefights.
Has anyone else noticed a huge performance increase after the last update?
I decided to try the Ultra config Kenji posted a couple of pages back, and I still get about the same FPS as before when I ran on medium. Whatever they did for today's patch, it's magic.

Yeah im a bit weirded out. having the same FPS on some ini tweaked ultra and ... medium is odd.
Not that im complaining, if im going to have 15fps in a firefight, might as well have a pretty firefight. :v:
yes
it packs quite the punch, and is still viable in close range until you run out of ammo
'tis recommended
So how long is the time to kill a guy compared to the stock NC LMG? Because they appear to have the same damage and ROF stats, but I can't imagine a 750 cert gun would be that, but with a shittier magazine.
Figuring out what's better between the Reaper and the VS Lasher is basically how I'm picking faction post-wipe.

From what I've seen Light Assault is a bad version of the Combat Medic.
Getting a much better feel for sniping now, something about the scale of this game makes sniping more satisfying, dropping medics and heavy assaults so much as looking at our tanks makes me smirk.
that jetpack can be useful when you're attacking biolabs
so I upgraded the semi auto scout rifle for tr and nc on my friends account and I can definitely say I like the TR one better. I'm liking TR better as a whole, actually.
despite their shitty ass MBT, their guns are the closest ones to feeling natural for me.
You pay for in firepower and utility what you gain in mobility. It's a fine trade-off and light assault definitely fills a roll in this game.
light assault owns idk what you're talking about!!
having a vertical advantage in the middle of a big firefight is a great way to rack up kills, or flank and c4 a max line/enemy vehicle
that jetpack can be useful when you're attacking biolabs
I still think Light Assaults should have a better weapon than Medics. Or at least equal.
the prowler also owns fuck you framperton
if I could get a proper battle rifle for the light assault it would probably be my primary class
I bought the silencer for the LA assault rifle.
Now I just sneak between where the enemy is and my allies, and pick them off from behind.
Damnit. Those laser sniper rifles do like no damage.
I like sniping, but I wouldn't sacrifice damaged and accuracy for no bullet drop and semi-auto.
For those having issues with repairing things, drop a turret next to what you want to repair, use your repair tool on it, then without letting go of fire, aim at what you want to fix.
Also, if you're sitting on a control point of a base you've clearly won, pair up with another engineer and provide each other with ammo while you both reload your handgun repeatedly. May as well get some points while waiting.

first time as an exosuit guy was the best time period in my entire planetside experience
I was in like
a 30 man assault on the terran republics land, turning the tides of war
I was in a sunderer when I crashed though
Any way to get in the beta still?
compared to heavy assault, infil and engineer medics are already bland enough. their weapon is the only thing that compensates for how much they lack everywhere else.
I mean, I'm all for the Medic having a better gun than the light assault because my main class is Medic, but it just seems weird that the main frontline maneuver class not do as much damage as the guy who should prioritize healing people. It encourages the wrong thing.
the prowler also owns fuck you framperton
If I had to choose between stealing an enemy vangaurd with nothing on it and upgrading my prowler with everything possible, I would be selling my prowler to a tin can recycling plant.

I disagree. I think it adds some needed survivability to a class that is often on the front lines. I find myself constantly alongside HAs, engineers and infiltrators, and if I didn't have something witht he stopping power of the AR it would be getting crushed far more often.
Is the twitch streaming option broken? Evey time I try to use it theres a few seconds where everything is ok, then theres a hitch, then PS2 just closes.

One of my friends was whining about how good vanu was blah blah blah, their basic fucking sniper rifle is useless, doesn't kill on headshots, which is a bare minimum for a sniper rifle in a game.

I took a magrider plasma shot to the face yesterday. It pissed me off pretty bad, I had to wipe my helmet off. Slight scorch marks don't come off easy.

Also, to whoever asked yesterday: The scoping time difference between the normal ironsights and the 2x reflex is none at all.
Am I the only one who thinks that shooting down an air vehicle with the Magriders default gun is incredibly satisfying?
