It's semi auto though. But I agree, I like bolt-actions better.
And sorry Thebe TR yesterday, not conquering Indar today!

I have literally never died to a vanu sniper, if they even manage to hit me first(Do they even have x10 scopes?) I have plenty of time to get into cover before he can line up another shot.

I only get killed by TC snipers
And occasionally friendly NC snipers
fuckin idiots, there needs to be a little tutorial or something to educate people on friendly fire, called "How to not shoot teammates or jump in front of moving tanks"

It will happen when they teach the tank cunts to stop backing into engineers repairing them.
TC snipers have killed me once or twice, but my x10 scope usually takes them by surprise.

Wait, really? I thought that I was just hitting people non-lethally. Super lame.

The vanu sniper rifle is a mass driver that sends purple popsicles to your enemy, aka don't bother using it :v:
It will happen when they teach the tank cunts to stop backing into engineers repairing them.
Its not just the tanks fault, if the tank is engaged in combat its more than likely its going to need to back up if it's in a spot of bother. Engies should always be ready to swiftly move out of the way too.
Ideally the tank driver and the engies should be communicating.

Not to shift the blame, but it is common practice in real life to always stand to the side of a tank, never in front or behind. Think about if every tank took the time to turn and look behind them before backing up. In a retreating situation, they would likely be dead before they were out of the line of fire.
I mean, I'm all for the Medic having a better gun than the light assault because my main class is Medic, but it just seems weird that the main frontline maneuver class not do as much damage as the guy who should prioritize healing people. It encourages the wrong thing.
The idea behind the medic is a "combat medic", in the sense you are basically the frontman guy. It gets more people into medic roles so more healing is going on
Of course, I think having a combat medic that fills multiple roles is unessicary when you have 6-7 classes or so, especially when you have heavy assault (big LMG guns) and light assault (lighter guns).
That said, I don't think LA's should get full assault rifles/carbines and such, because it doesn't make sense for a class that is so mobile. SMG-style weapons, shotguns, and support weapons (like snipers) are perfect for it though.

Terran Conglomerate?
[editline]November 15 2012[/editline]
Also, any decent engineer knows never to stand in front or behind a tank. Especially in combat.

I'm not talking in combat scenarios, there I use the tank as a cover on one of the sides.
I'm talking the cunts that has run away from battle with like 5% left, stands still screaming for repair, then as soon as they think they have enough, which usually isn't even near 100% for some reason, they, without warning, while knowing someones still repairing it due to it saying "HEY CUNTBAG, SOMEONES FUCKING REPAIRING YOUR NOOB ASS" in the bottom right.
Always, ALWAYS use third person when outside combat, if you don't you deserve getting weapon locked/banned for TKing.

Kinda hard to stand next to them since they usually hide by squeezing themselves between two buildings.

No. Tarot Cards.
Of course we're talking about the Terran Cunts :v:

[sp]its TR NC, and VS[/sp]
Also, if they position themselfes so it is impossible to repair, dont. Simple as that. Tell them to back dat ass up for repairs or be a flaming ball of swiss cheese.

TR and Vanu default snipers are more like SPR's than full snipers, in that they are semi-auto and send an accurate shot down range, but don't really have tons of power. The NC default sniper is bolt action though and does kill on headshot
Honestly the default vanu sniper is fucking amazing in the right hands, I can dominate with it (infil is my main class). It's great for techlabs and stuff since its pretty good at fighting in medium/close range. It sucks though if you main plan of engagement is to just sit back and be useless trying to farm kills with it from a long range. It's not made to do that and you'll never kill anyone. The TTK for the gun is less than 2 seconds if you hit all your shots (3 body) and even less if you get headshots (2) - that's super fucking lethal if you are shooting at someone 200m out since most of the time they can't get in cover fast enough.
You can buy bolt action snipers for Vanu though that do kill in one headshot and 2 body shots, but they have less magazine size and are bolt action, which means you have to rechamber after every shot. This is bad, because it means if you DONT get a headshot every time (which is really hard to do in PS2 compared to BF3 or something), your TTK is something like 3-4 seconds. So you have to hit every shot on target to do really well with it, and its good at quickly taking care of threats on headshots, but if you miss or hit the body, you'll often lose your target since the rechambering extends your TTK by a couple of seconds compared to the default sniper (which you can't really run/hide from).
Also it sucks at close range due to wonky hit detection and that long TTK on non-headshots, making it so precision shooting is really hard which is the main advantage of the bolt action snipers.
The problem is that I play sniper as an overwatch style, I stay above, spotting enemies, bodyshotting people that aren't easy to headshot to make it easy for my outfit to follow up, to take out snipers before they can take out my team, etc. Which means I need strong alpha damage.
[editline]15th November 2012[/editline]
That and vanu snipers are easy as hell to spot because they fire fucking lasers :v:
Even while not in combat, never. Ever. EVER Go in front or behind of a tank. If you can't get beside him or he runs off before you're done, to bad, he wants to die. An easier fix for this issue is to get SOE to remove the invisible spinning blades on tanks that only work on friendlies. Or at least switch them to make it work on enemies instead of allies.

Or make the penalties for running people over more severe, I stopped counting how many times I've been run over by tanks just moving place to place even though I'm no where near a road or a good place to drive, and they obviously see me.

Or add an arrow on the hud pointing to whoever is repairing you. That way you'll at least know if there are engy's behind you helping you out. If they're just hanging out back there and not doing anything, on the other hand, they probably deserve to get run over.

And I've lost count of the amount of times ive been driving out of a base/down path and a moron just runs out in front of my and gets squashed. Also stop standing in front vehicle pads (not you, just a general message)
The T button exists for a reason.
I'm pretty sure we've already clarified that it's a pain in the ass to go into third person every single time you want to back up while in combat.

Almost every single time I was walking right next to a building with plenty of space to drive a tank through, or I was standing fucking still :v:

I've been talking out of combat this entire time.
The T button isn't very useful, the camera is shoved up your tanks butt, it should be a bit farther back and above its current position. Though it is true that it is slightly better at letting you see people to your sides.

You seem like a logigal player, but this is a F2p game. Even if it wasn't, it would still be saturated with idiots who don't pay attention to anything about their surroundings. If they are driving, they will almost go out of their way to hit people, and if they are infantry, they will ignore the sound of a vanguard's cruise liner-sized deisel engine, neglect to look anywhere but straight ahead, and sprint right into the road in front of a vehicle like a dumbass kid chasing a shiny red ball.
Especially if the shiny red ball is attatched to a TR soldier's shoulders.
How the fuck do they think this game is anywhere near ready to release, I'm still getting crashes every few minutes.
[editline]15th November 2012[/editline]
Also airfighting has gone from "die instantly to AA" to "Engage in a five minute "who can turn faster in a five meter circle" battle.
And a fifteen minute respawn timer is ridiculous, who wants to wait that long for what is probably the most interesting part of the game?

No. that would be a bad idea. I know getting team killed is frustrating, but having 16 weapon locked tanks in the heat of a battle because they accidentally killed two friendlies over the course of their multi-base campaign would be bad. And at the end of the day, you, as infantry, are expendable. The tank is not.
Besides, more often than not, it really is unintentional or unavoidable. I can't tell you how many times I've had idiots run up to my moving tank, which is either squad locked or full, and killing themselves by simply brushing up against the side. Getting weapon locked for that would be stupid. Fixing the problem so that you don't get team killed would be better, no?

Dogfights are turn battles because that's what dogfights are*. Unless you'd prefer the more realistic alternative of "shoot three missiles from 20km away and down two fighters, one helicopter and a tank battalion."
*Unless you're a person who has common sense and knows that planes can suddenly change direction at any time.
Any one here that i can join a outfit with on a EU server?
Almost every squad i join is all lone wolfers or people who are telepathic and don't need to rell orders.. I can't really work with a team if i'm not given orders.
seriously I wish I could be the exosuit 24/7, he's too fun
