What a fucking surprise, each faction practically has their own continent now.
Having 3 continents on launch was fucking stupid.
Having 3 continents on launch was fucking stupid.
Having three continents, with three footholds was stupid. It wasn't the amount of continents that was the problem, just the execution.
Is there any news about this being preloadable on Steam? Whenever I can I like to have my games Steam-supported. [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] Translation: I'm uninstalling so I can reinstall it through Steam. TELL ME I DON'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL RELEASE.
Having three continents, with three footholds was stupid. It wasn't the amount of continents that was the problem, just the execution.
Their utter refusal to put sanctuaries in is going to really hurt the metagame.
So FPP made a Planetside 2 video
Terrible flying huh?
Their utter refusal to put sanctuaries in is going to really hurt the metagame.
There wasn't utter refusal. Higby said more than once that it's something they're going to have to look at post-launch.
There wasn't utter refusal. Higby said more than once that it's something they're going to have to look at post-launch.
That's a bit late for a problem that exists right now.
Well at least they're not doing an Age of Conan, build a good base of an interesting MMO, then ship without adding any mid/end game content. "pls still play we're working on it" "nope" ..oh wait. Shit.
We almost shut Vanu out of Indar on Thebes. We were two tiles away from their warp gate but they suddenly pushed with a vengeance. so closseee
John Smedley ‏@j_smedley After reading many threads of feedback on the subject we have decided to reduce the time to get weapons via certs by approx. 30% overall
Thank fuck.
here's the full statement btw
Hey all - Based on a lot of feedback on the current weapon cert prices being too high from a time investment point of view, we're going to be making some adjustments to both cert gain rate and cert costs for weapon unlocks. This will affect both vehicle and infantry weapons. Some notes: 1 - Our goal here is to reduce the overall time investment for weapons by about 30% on the top end weapon unlocks. 2 - StationCash prices are remaining exactly where they are. We're doing two things to accomplish this change. First, we'll be changing the XP:Cert ratio to 250:1. So you'll be earning cert points twice as fast as the current build. Second, we'll be adjusting many of the cert prices to compensate for this increase, most certs for things like class abilities, attachments, etc. will be doubling to maintain the same overall time investment as current, but weapon certs will be increasing by a smaller amount or in some cases staying the same, effectively reducing the total time investment for unlocking items. The new weapon cert costs will be: SC Cost | Old Cert Cost | New Cert Cost | Overall time investment delta ----250 --|--------- 50--------|---------100--- ----|---------0% ----500 --|---------250------| ---------250-------| ---------50% ----700 --|---------375------| ---------500-------| ---------33% ----700 --|---------550------| ---------750-------| ---------32% ----700 --|---------725------| --------1000-- ---| ---------31% At launch all weapons will fall into one of those 5 price categories. As you can see, these prices combined with doubling the cert gain rate effectively cuts the total time investment for the top end weapons down by 30+% for all players. As always, thanks for your continued feedback about the game. And remember, that doesn't end when the beta does, we want to keep hearing from you throughout the life of the game.
Say what you want about the game itself, they have a pretty amazing dev team behind it.
Say what you want about the game itself, they have a pretty amazing dev team behind it.
It's too bad they get shit non-stop on the official forums. All I ever see over there is "OMG THEY ALL SUCK AND THIS GAME SUCKS I WONT RECOMMEND IT BECAUSE <insert tiny issue here>" even though every time there's a complaint it gets fixed pretty quick.
Is it worth buying the $40 package? Also if you do and buy weapons with the ingame currency, will it all get wiped when beta is over or will you be refunded the credits?
I'm very happy with how they handled anti-air weaponry. They seem to have a fairly happy medium between aircraft being powerful forces and still being weak to anti air weapons.
Is it worth buying the $40 package? Also if you do and buy weapons with the ingame currency, will it all get wiped when beta is over or will you be refunded the credits?
Station cash purchases for in game stuff are not currently active until release. All Alpha squad stuff is received on release (Station cash and beta access already awarded if bought).
Is it worth buying the $40 package? All of the characters and progress in the beta will be getting wiped for release. Also the beta ends tomorrow so there's not much point in buying if you wanted beta access. Besides, you could have easily got a key for free in the past week.
What a fucking surprise, each faction practically has their own continent now.
I'm honestly secretly hoping each faction holds their own cont and then just is satisfied and declares peace with each other Just to fuck with the devs

Next thing you know higby's been banned for disturbing the peace and smedley's desperately trying to wipe the game off the net.

Maybe the Vanu can get a religious victory or technological victory rather then domination.
I agree with the TR in the notion that immortality systems should be regulated.
I'm not going to invest as much time as I'd like because I simply cannot play an FPS at 20 FPS.
To you conservative space commie TR fuks who held the crown until the server shutdown on Thebe: YOU BETTER GIMME MY KNIFE FIGHT
Anybody else think TR should have english accents?
