I've got an X45 which is close enough, works fine after mapping some of the buttons to keyboard commands with SST. It can flake out and require remapping a lot though, but it's early days.
Doesn't ps2 have joystick support? Thought smedley said something like that, or is it just smedley being the prince of lies again.
also it's way easier to tell what some enemy units are from a distance since TR and NC can look pretty similar. [editline]16th November 2012[/editline] fuq
I tried Vanu today because the population was so skewed on my main server which I play TR on, I gotta say since i'm always wearing a headset the guns are fucking beautiful, no more harsh blat blats just soothing thuu thuus. Along with trying out some other stuff like vehicles I've become a convert
I prefer NC myself, I could just fire their weapons at nothing, love their sound.
I just like how the TR weapons feel and have the best recoil, allowing for better actual accuracy when putting fire down range.
Doesn't ps2 have joystick support? Thought smedley said something like that, or is it just smedley being the prince of lies again.
It has rough support just now, hence the flakiness, they are meant to be polishing it up though.

Along with trying out some other stuff like vehicles I've become a convert
This is the exact same reasoning with me. The assault rifle sounds are just the gateway to a more crippling addiction. Luckily I put a stop to it early and returned to the true, Terran way. Vanu Sovereignity: Not even once
It has rough support just now, hence the flakiness, they are meant to be polishing it up though.
Can I set up multiple axis for things yet? I wanted to use a hybrid joystick/mouse setup. Joystick for flight, mouse for VTOL.
Last night we came to the consensus that this might just be the best looking f2p game we've ever played. Fighting the Vanu at night, especially at a place like Esamir just looks really nice.
I can't not play NC, specifically for the rocket launcher. I don't think I've had a weapon feel so good for a long time, so memorable, that reload is so awesome.
Certainly on scale. Where you're part of a 50 man infantry zerg rushing forwards towards an outpost with shells exploding and streams of tracer fire spilling across the night sky it can look pretty sweet.
I just like how the TR weapons feel and have the best recoil, allowing for better actual accuracy when putting fire down range.
I would agree except for the fact that the actual damage at a range seems terrible. I've never been killed by a non-sniper TR beyond close range.
also it's way easier to tell what some enemy units are from a distance since TR and NC can look pretty similar.
It's also way easier to distinguish between friendly and enemy fire via audio because there's nobody in VS that goes "bang". Something that drives me nuts, though- why is the color for "friendly" units on the radar blue? Why not green (or have every faction just use its own color)? It's nothing that confuses you, but it's just weird to be blue and have your units be blue and then be purple and have your units be blue.
I've yet to even touch TR, been too preoccupied with Vanu first, then I found my calling on NC. Though one thing I don't like is the heavy's HMG. The accuracy of the damn thing drops off into shotgun like spread past 25 feet.

I found stuff to shoot, but not any friends.

they should've just made it red is enemy, green is friend on minimap but whatever goes, I'm NC so I have no issues
Dunno 6. When scouting for enemies use height to your advantage. Rotate your aircraft so that you can use first person freelook to look down. http://filesmelt.com/dl/Height.jpg
What is this first person freelook of which you speak? Is it using regular first person mode and using your A and D keys to look around and scan the area or is it some button you press which allows you to use your mouse to look around without tilting your craft like in ArmA?
Soooo Now EMP grenades are totally useless because all they do is take out shields, despite having the same range and general -effect of normal grenades. Except of course, normal grenades actually killing you. I hear they also blow up mines and stop abilities from working (like cloak), but seeing as the TTK is reasonably small, and abilities just generally add a small boost to your class, and you can't use abilities while you are DEAD FROM A GRENADE anyways, it's a totally useless perk to have.
is it some button you press which allows you to use your mouse to look around without tilting your craft like in ArmA?
Yeah, you can do that. Quite useful. I think it's middle mouse button?
Yeah, you can do that. Quite useful. I think it's middle mouse button?
It's a shame that it's very limited and only works in first person though.

In PS1 emp grenades disabled the weapon systems.
What do they do to vehicles? In PS1 emp grenades disabled the weapon systems.
I want it so that if you by some huge ass lucky throw, hit a plane with it, it just drops out of the sky :v:
Did they doubled the attachment price for guns in this patch or those are same as before ?
Did they doubled the attachment price for guns in this patch or those are same as before ?
same as before due to halving the exp needed per cert.
It's a shame that it's very limited and only works in first person though.
It would be way too powerful if you could do it in third person.
Did they doubled the attachment price for guns in this patch or those are same as before ?
They tweaked the cert rate (it's back to 250:1 again) and adjusted cert prices.
Anybody else think TR should have english accents?
TR should have any voices that aren't the ones they have I can't take a fight seriously when the guy in heavy armour next to me shouts out "ENEMY SUNDERER" in the most nerdy voice ever
TR should have any voices that aren't the ones they have I can't take a fight seriously when the guy in heavy armour next to me shouts out "ENEMY SUNDERER" in the most nerdy voice ever
At least they aren't like the VS shouting "I NEED MORE BATTERIES"
At least they aren't like the VS shouting "I NEED MORE BATTERIES"
Batteries are the way to enlightenment, yo
What are some good buys for a NC engineer? I was leaning towards c-4 but would anti-vehicle mines work just as well if i were to shoot them? Or should i upgrade repair speed or armor? I really have no idea.
VS owns Indar. NC owns Esamir. TR owns Amerish. Only logical thing to do: Logout
