I was getting 10k per hour at 20 FPS and using Vanu guns.
Why does everyone have such bad framerates? I was getting 70-80 constant on max settings, and my machine isn't all that much.
Because the game is optimized like poop.
I'll be interesting to see what the difference the latest patch and my cpu going from 3.3ghz tro 4.5ghz will pull with the performance. I got 30 fps in big firefights to begin with. Which is ~playable~ but not ideal.
Now I don't know about you, but I'm not getting 5000 XP per hour. My play style nets me more like 1500. Now we're up to 126 hours of constant play time. At the rate I play, that's something like 3-4 straight months of grinding. I don't like grinding, and you shouldn't either.
Then what the hell are you doing, exactly? You could get over 1500 xp an hour if you captured 1 facility and 1 territory. Or 3 territories. Or killed 15 people with no bonus or anything whatsoever. Seriously, are you just sitting in some completely useless ass location just watching the game? If you are really being that useless and doing jack shit, then yeah you can expect yourself to get an incredibly slow cert gain. I don't see how this applies to the people who actually play the game and are even mediocre at it. The game rewards you for preforming any myriad of actions, just because you aren't, or are just plain bad at the game doesn't mean they should reduce weapon costs to cater to such a low energy play style. I'm actually really curious, what 'playstyle' are you talking about that gets you so little xp per hour? I honestly can't imagine one that has so little energy in any sort of shooter.
You are only allowed to kill people with the flash. Not guns on it either. Pure ramming speed.
I'm kind of mad they still have yet to place a biolab where you can use the flash's boost to get inside. Can get a scythe in there with room to spare but a flash is right out.
Tbh flashes should be able to use jump pads. That would be hilarious.
So, im' probably going to waste my SC on appearance related shit. And guns. I got about 5000 from the facebook thingy so i'm all good. What are you guys going to spend it on?
different means to a same end. I say give the player more certs, you say make them need less [editline]20th November 2012[/editline] and what I mean is "everything is too expensive"
To be fair These are only the highest end/most expensive weapons that are like this, like the Lasher and rocketpods or shotguns. There's plenty of weapons to buy that are much cheaper, not to mention certs which are really cheap if you aren't trying to max out a single skill (only things that cost expensive cert wise are the stuff thats like... 1000 certs to upgrade flare times from 25 sec to like 20... AKA the stuff that is there to give you something to spend it on if you already have all that you want). And, unlike almost all F2P games, you can do everything in PS2 without having to pay a dime. No classes, vehicles, maps, playstyles are totally locked out to you. This makes getting weapons less of a necessity, and more of something that would be nice to have to change the role of a certain class you like (i.e. getting a shotgun for your LA would be a great way to tweak that class to play it exactly how you'd like). So that's why its expensive - because they aren't required, much like cosmetic items, to really enjoy the full game experience. Plus it gives you an incentive to actually buy them. Buying them is pretty cheap too if you count discounts/promos. $7 for a single gun is a lot by itself, but its much cheaper of a figure if you figure into the fact that you didn't have to pay anything to get the base game (which effectively makes the purchase cheaper compaired to doing the same thing to unlock a bunch of guns in Me3 or BF3), SoE frequently does promo events where you get double or triple your SC for the dollar (making it MUCH cheaper than $7), and you can be positive the game itself will run promos on certain weapons, i.e. having a daily sale where rocketpods are $4-$5 worth of SC instead of 7, or a bundle where you can get all the ESF weapon unlocks for $8 or something. [editline]20th November 2012[/editline]
Didn't use to be. Used to be the point was making you buy cosmetics.
They never said this They only said that the only thing in the game that is locked out to free players is cosmetics - you can get every gun and cert in the game without paying a dime if you really wanted to. And this is true, it would just take a really long time.
ONE HOUR 45 MINUTES OMGFGWQERQ-3FQWRQ3R!~!!!!!!

Looking forward to getting back to quad biking around the map.

This was funniest when it was Todd Howard.
Looking forward to getting back to quad biking around the map.
Then flipping over and exploding.
Then flipping over and exploding.
Does crashing your vehicle into an enemy's vehicle damage them? Because if it does then I'm going to take every opportunity to divebomb convoys and low flying aircraft from clifftops. Edit: When it's finally released, are there any plans for someone to make a Facepunch outfit? Nothing's going to be more fun than shooting up Vanu alongside the rest of you lot.
So what is everyone planning to spend smedbux on when it goes live? I'm thinking battle rifle, AA and AV missile launchers, and maybe a LMG. Then cosmetics. The rest I'll hold for boosters and shit.
Do we get anything from being in beta, or is everything wiped and we have to start everything all over?

Soon
Do we get anything from being in beta, or is everything wiped and we have to start everything all over?
Wiped. Everything is wiped. Nothing has ever suggested otherwise.
I need opinions on what faction to play as. In the beta I played the blue and yellow looking guys, but I mainly picked them because of the music for them on the option screen. I don't know if I want to go as them in the live game, I was thinking of going to the purple dudes but all my choices are based on looks/style rather than any actual merit. Thoughts?
I'm stuck between the TR and VS. So I'm going both.

How many characters will we be able to create now?
How many characters will we be able to create now?
3 for free players.
How many characters will we be able to create now?
I think it's a limit of 3 per account. Can't remember where I read that or if it's a reliable source.
