Is it possible to move the game files from the original install in order to make the steam download go faster? I like having all my games on steam.

Shit my download speed has hit 400kb/s. It's at 50% now though. I'm going to try switching to another countries CDN.

Although that always seems to happen when I download games on steam. I get around 2Mb/s till upto around 50% then it piddles along at around 500Kb/s for the rest.

Switching from london to Manchester (which is actually technically closer aswell) I've gone up to 2mb/s again. It's not brilliant but it's much better. I'd advise everyone to switch to another CDN rather than London if you're from the UK.

I just changed the download server to Manchester and it made no difference. Guess I'll just have to be patient.

Does anyone know of a method to force Steam to recognize copied+pasted content? I'm trying to just use the content files from the beta, there is no reason they shouldn't be valid for the most part, but this new way Steam handles downloads just seems to completely break being able to copy and paste content.

It's obviously for a good reason, not just trying to be dicks about it.

Got an email saying that i get special rewards for beta testing, but when I click the link it just brings me to the regular PS2 website.
