decided to buy composite armor / helmet for my medic. looks fantastic! also, anyone else play on mattherson NC?
I play on mattherson NC! KarlL is the name.
Decided to join and play, me as an infilitrator and 2 light assaults (I think they were) snuck into a base while a battle was going on outside, I hacked a veh terminal and they both spawned tanks on the inside. Raped the enemy vehicles from behind, eventually we took the base. I love this game.
As far as I can tell, EU servers are down, lovely.
I play on mattherson NC! KarlL is the name.
word, my NC char is Octavius
I'm playing on one.
So, in the month since I stopped playing and they released the game what notable things have they done?
So, in the month since I stopped playing and they released the game what notable things have they done?
The last few patches really upped the game. I'm not sure of the details because I stopped playing weeks ago aswell until release day. Still a long way to go but its certainly playable. Not to mention having no more wipes, ever is a nice feeling at the back of your mind. Worth trying again.
Holy shit the Nyx is godlike, too bad it will take ages to get the 1000 certs needed.
Holy shit the queues on EU servers. I sure hope it won't be this bad in the future.
They've just put up two new servers. But that would only overflow new characters. People who have already invested time in the current ones are likely not to switch, unless to play alts.
so is there anything to stop people buying the best weapons and raping l1's? Seems like people with station cash have a bit of an advantage this early on.
The fact that most of the weapons aren't really upgrades at all but different playstyle changes or something I.E. you can get a shotgun for certain classes that is really awesome, but the downside is that you basically are regulated entirely to close-quarter situations (and the maps can often feature large distance engagements). Or you can get a sniper for Vanu that one hit kills on headshots, but its bolt-action (instead of semi-auto) so you have to rechamber after every shot, making it have a very long time-to-kill unless you happen to get that headshot (which is hard, unless you are the right distance away). The only things that are straight-up upgrades are getting stuff like Rocketpods for the aircraft, since that literally adds a second (damaging) weapon to your fighter. Or getting something like the 2nd buster arm for the MAX unit if you want to focus purely on AA (MAX units start with one of every weapon type, but if you want to duel weild two of the same weapons at the same time you have to buy the 2nd weapon in the store with certs or SC). And even taking into consideration the weapons that do add better firepower to you like rocketpods, you are still really effective with the default guns, so it's more or less more up to the skill of the player rather than how much stuff you have. Having more things basically just means your class is better specilized to do exactly what you want it to do instead of it being a jack of all trades, master of none. Getting stuff for infiltrators to make it better at infiltrating, or getting something to make them better at being straight-up sniping at long distance, or getting stuff for them that makes them better at recon/scouting, etc. Thats the thing I love about PS2 - its extremely playable without even having any unlocks. Sure, if you want to be credit to team you might have to switch classes more often, or use a variety of vehciles more often than normal to get the job done, or you might take longer/have to be a bit more creative to get things done, etc. But by and large you are pretty effective at BR1 compaired to a guy who is BR10 or 20. The big difference is the BR20 guy is much more specilized to do exactly what he wants to do, and do it well, and his abilities/certs may or may not be focused on giving him a small boost in overall capability (like having the certs that make the HA's shield recharge faster). There's not a single gun or cert in the game I don't think that straight up goes, "Okay, you do 20% more damage and you take 20% less damage, with no trade-offs".
I always thought that the clubby, pounding type soundtrack of Hotline Miami fit the VS perfectly.
So whats the catch with the weapon trials?
You can only trial one weapon every 8 hours, and when you trail you have it for 30 minutes AKA its a way to test something out before you buy, so you can see if you like it or not. The 8 hour cooldown between weapon trailing is to prevent people from just constantly trailing different weapons isntead of buying some. [editline]21st November 2012[/editline]
After all the time I've spent playing Bad Company 2 vs. Battlefield 3, I must say I like shooters much more without prone.
Prone is fucking awesome if its a very tactical or semi-slow paced shooter like America's Army 2.X It's not really that needed or nessicary in something like PS2 though, and to a lesser extent BF3 since that is a very run+gun shooter as well. [editline]21st November 2012[/editline]
They've just put up two new servers. But that would only overflow new characters. People who have already invested time in the current ones are likely not to switch, unless to play alts.
They really need to: 1. Put in a server migration feature, once every 3 days or something. Or just do what WoW does and charge a fee for it (would be stupid). 2. Put in an overflow server feature, for when your main server is full. I.E. if your character's server is full you'll get randomly placed into an overflow server and put on a que to join your main, much like how Guild Wars 2 does it. That way, you can still play on some level even if your server is full.
Alright, I know that I'm really really late with this, but I don't want to skim 198 pages for a fix. I'm loading, but then it brings me back to desktop and a web-page with "Genericgameerror 87"
what are some of the must get items/packs on the cash shop i got some station cash and i'm overwhelmed by all the choices
what are some of the must get items/packs on the cash shop i got some station cash and i'm overwhelmed by all the choices
The 2000 pack that was up yesterday was one of the deals my outfit vouched for. Though besides that it depends on your faction. Scratch that, if you're going into the air, rocket pods annihilate everything.
Hooray, more G37 errors.
There an FP outfit on US East? If not, can a freemium member like me make it?
nvm late have a list of error codes instead http://help.station.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/33981/kw/G37 [editline]21st November 2012[/editline]
I'm still trying to decide what my main class is going to be I know as an infantry man I want to be an infiltrator. But I love the idea of being a full on hardcore ESF pilot. Problem is, I'm not going to be able to use ESF's all the time, not to mention they don't exactly bring the certs in all that much if everybody is fighting inside a biolab. And many squads/outfits don't really roll with ESF's at all, unless you happen to join one that exclusively is air cavalry (which would mean, I wouldn't play a trooper at all). Also if you are going to focus on vehicles in any measure, you pretty much HAVE to be engie.
Well, to be fair, the game pretty much just came out, it's okay for a few bugs.
How many certs are Rocket Pods? I really need them to even remotely start flying.
How many certs are Rocket Pods? I really need them to even remotely start flying.
1000 certs or 700SC(US$7). Though with them you'll rack up loads of kills and certs.
That feel when you ram a liberator into a scythe that's been dogging you for a while and just rip the poor sonofabitch a new asshole.
How many certs are Rocket Pods? I really need them to even remotely start flying.
Dumb fire ones are 1000, but you definitely dont need them to "fly at all". Default machine gun or anti light armor chain gun are quite good. And you dont just fly around with no second weapon until you unlock pods, you fly with external afterburner fuel.
Ah NC music It's a good kind of stupid.
So i got some of the stuff i bought yesterday, but only for one of my characters. There's still a camo pattern, a helmet + a rmor set that haven't showed up yet. Anyone know how to fix this or if SOE is working on a permanent solution for it?
Just don't buy it twice they say and you'll get it soon.
Thank god i didn't buy the stuff twice, thanks for the fast response.

I just like exploding things I guess. It's a similar aim of destroying shit, but different playstyles to keep it interesting.
