That is fucking annoying as hell. I often find particularly devious and EASY ways to flank a tower siege. Every time I die, I see that it's either me or two other people outside of the tower, and the rest camping the staircases.
The certification point gain rate and/or item prices feels a bit painful. I mean, it's probably okay for "dedicated" players who don't mind grinding for four or five hours a day ad infinitum, but I've never been much more than a casual gamer. I've pumped about 15 hours into this game over the past three days, but that's because I was off school and work, and I was really into wicked new game! Once the "new game" high has worn a bit, I'll put maybe an hour or two a day into this. At that rate, it'll take me months, or longer, just to unlock most of the basic upgrades for one class!
With how many different classes, vehicles, weapons, and general upgrades there are available, there's no way I'll ever be able to unlock all the stuff I'd really like to play with. I get that they want to force the player to specialize in a specific role, but I can't help but feel they've done it to too great an extent.
Woe be to casual players!

Today I plugged in my ipod to my mic jack and blared sabaton while doing my close combat MAX stuff.
I got 2 AAMAX's and a good group of infantry to follow me into a enemy occuppied building.
If there was blood splatters in this game, the walls would have been solid red.
Really wanted to not spend anything on an easy pass for the weapons unlocks besides few skins, but this Cert system is just forcing you to.
The grind is just too much for classes/vehicle unlocks alone, they just had to add this dirty Pay 2 Win system and offer weapons for wallet warriors on the expense of extreme grinding so they will have a reason to. (while each weapon costs around 1k Certs which is obtained by playing over 100 hours each)
Also this whole Cert system is either flawed or very carefully planned, because I don't see myself spending 1.5k Certs on Grenade upgrades for each class. (and just any other "needed but rather not to" upgrades)
Free to play? maybe for people with no jobs. If you want to take this game seriously you will have to spend money on it or suffer in agony.

If you work a job with minimum wage you can work for one hour and buy it instead of "working" 100 hours in game.
Keep that in mind if you ever even think about certing something you can just buy.

Um. Lots of the certs in the game go up to 1000. The weapons are kind of like "end game goals" from that perspective.
Mattherson had a problem earlier with vehicles not blowing up after hitting 0hp.
We had the road to the crown blocked my a dead galaxy, reaver, a couple lightnings and some magriders too.
I think there was a problem with grenades too, like them not exploding and just sitting there.

So did I, until I found out that they have the weaker weapons compared to the blue guys. I choose firepower all day erry day

If you're an independent adult with low income, every penny counts!
Hell, I'm legitimately on the brink of homelessness here. I can't drop a dime on video game stuff right now, haha. I'm still having a blast with Planetside 2's free features, but I wish they made it a bit more "free friendly," and kept the cash shop purchases limited mostly to cosmetic items, or at the very least decreased the grind needed to unlock things with certification points.
Yeah, fuck me, 1000 certs a weapon is completely stupid.
Vanu pilots must have no depth perception at all because I just got rammed out of the sky by two scythes in a row.

A weapon mandatory for basic play cannot be endgame anything. No amount of calling it a "side-grade" makes a shotgun not essential to actually doing indoor facility capture.

At least the prices are decent!
i fly reaver pretty much half the time I'm playing
my biggest enemy is not AA, it's not enemy aircraft, it's not infantry
it's the morons on my team who buy libs to fly around by themselves and literally push me out of the sky trying to zero in their lumbering shitmachine on an enemy I'm tailing in order to steal the kill
[editline]edit[/editline]
it's seriously happened 5 times, although not always with a lib, and invariably ends up with my dumbass teammate getting outmaneuvered and killed by my mark anyway, while I'm reeling around trying to right myself before I kiss a mountainside
After looking at the exchange rates to buy the Station Cash stuff, I'm disappointed. We have to pay £4 for 500 Cash, which is the equivalent of $6.42, rounded up. That may not sound like much, but it means that for 10000, we have to pay an extra $18. Seriously? Can't they just use the current exchange rates?

It's like people think planes fly by the pilot typing noclip into the altimeter.
I think the NC Character Selection music is a perfect representation of the path this game has taken. It was absolutely horrible at first, but SOE has been very receptive to criticism and continuously changed it until there was a great end product. Obviously they have a lot of work still to do with PS2, but it seems to be headed in a fairly positive direction.

what i was trying to say is
nc best music best faction all factions
Air vs Air combat is so fun but is often ruined by AA guns just shooting you down after a shot or two.
I'm rather liking my A2A on my scythe. Can't wait to upgrade the lock time and range. I just wish the dual photon cannons were primary so I could take out vehicles more easily and air.

Are you kidding, me and my friend and his friend stood on a hill once, all in dual-burster MAX's and all focused fire on a single target at a time and it took us a whole magazine each just to bring down a Scythe.
Saw a TV commercial during prime time in Germany for this.
As someone who mostly provides air support to ground units, should I invest in flares? are they actually a useful counter-measure to AA missiles?
yup very
As someone who mostly provides air support to ground units, should I invest in flares? are they actually a useful counter-measure to AA missiles?
Yes, very. Also stealth.
The launcher is very broken for me. When I start it it just allocates a small amount of memory then freezes up. Not even taskkill /f /im launchpad.exe will end the lingering process. No launcher = no PS2.

But... they're not essential for doing indoor facility capture.

Hahah, then you're doing something wrong.
A buster max can shoot down a scythe in a couple of seconds, and the scythe literally has no countermeasure to it.
[editline]24th November 2012[/editline]
Also, ugh, this game has got even worse performance wise.
Phenom II 3.2Ghz quad core and a 6870 and 20FPS in firefights on medium?
It was better than this in the BETA.
Hahah, then you're doing something wrong.

You're doing something wrong if you get shot down in seconds in a scythe.
Like hovering within 100 meters of a skyguard.
[editline]24th November 2012[/editline]
If anything AA needs a buff.
I can kill a single AA turret quicker than it can kill me in my scythe.

AA turrets maybe - AA maxes?
Tiny little things you can barely spot that can down a scythe in a few shots?
I'm flying at 700 meters up, AA should not be able to do that.
