Spawn TR Liberator. Fly out of warpgate. Immediately be engaged by a lone scythe. Land on the side of a hill to repair. Fall through the hill and "suicide" 200 meters under the world. gg Sony
The NC people of Facepunch need a motto, something like. "You can't spell Massive Faggots without V and S." I do remember seeing someone in this thread who posted something similar to that. For that you have my love.
All the NC pilots on my server are good at is running into walls and killing prowlers. There's the occasional decent pilot but they get like two kills then promptly get shot down by a mosquito.
I use a scattergun and a messer? on my MAX, currently trying to max out the boosters to negate the short range. I was backed behind a rock because of a turret and he thought he had me pinned down, never saw it coming when I charged at him head on and shot him from the side.
Does AA in general just suck? I find that on most bases (TR) we just get swarmed with Galaxies and gunships which, unfortunately, even our own planes do fuck-all to dent them while they're pounding the shit out of our ground troops.
It balances out on most servers because most NC are too dumb to successfully fly an aircraft out of their territory.
It balances out on most servers because most NC are too dumb to successfully fly an aircraft out of their territory.
I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a terrible pilot and I'm in NC. I stick with a MAX when I can.
the crown is suuuch a fun place though, I can't blame the people wanting to fight there :v:
I'd like to upgrade the liberator, but it seems like 2/3 of the vehicle occupants get the shaft, when it comes to experience. The pilot, who actually has to buy all the upgrades and whatnot, only gets half the dough (or less!), while the tail gunner gets diddly, and the dude who hopped in your belly and hasn't pumped a single cert towards the machine rolls in the income. I'd prolly do it if I had a friend who could be my dedicated gunner, but otherwise it seems like you get stinted a bit! Course, I guess it just depends on how well you do, huh? I haven't actually flown a liberator regularly. Consensus??????????????????????????? ?? ?
Just got this game a few hours ago. Opened it and was overwhelmed with all of the everything. Even with that though I instantly loved this game. I missed BF2142 and this seems to have everything from that I loved. I see some mods etc require 200cert. Is that going to take a ridiculous time to get? Loving the medic class. Also driving that transport vehicle. Played with a friend and it seems that if you had a cluster of just 3 people communicating correctly the advantage you get is stupidly big. I'm okay with this.

I'm okay with this.
The 200 ones will take you a bit, but it's the 1000 ones that will murder you. Game's a bit of a grind! It's a fun grind, most of the time, but it's still honestly far too long an investment to unlock some of the "top tier" gear. I'm a very average sort of player, and I rake in about 30~ certs an hour right now.
Was just part of the most orderly reaver squadron I've ever seen. It's the only time I've ever seen anyone in PS2 pull of formation flight. Also, during one of the R&R sessions, one of the really bored guys flipped his reaver over while still on the ground, proceeded to pull a three stooges for ten seconds, lift up off the ground inverted and survive the incident without a scratch. I love this outfit I randomly joined.
It's worse with vehicles, though. The infantry upgrade paths are all pretty fair to get into, in my opinion! It's just been a few days, but I've gotten my Light Assault Trooper to a point where I feel pretty strong with him. I can continue to specialize in him and maximize his potential, but I'm already rolling with an upgraded default weapon, upgraded resistances and health, faster run speed, longer jetpack times, etc, etc. Nothing's maxed, but with most of the key elements at level two or three, I've got no real complaints! Specializing him further would start to take a lot more Certs, but I don't feel a rush to get it done, you know? Like, I could save up and buy the regeneration kit certification, which would give me more long-term survivability in the field, but I don't really need it to do what I do. Beyond this point, I can choose to start upgraded other roles I enjoy to about the same level, or I can start to really specialize in light assault. It'll get more and more expensive from here on out for Light Assault, so I'll probably buff up a vehicle or another role before I start specializing, just so I can jump into something else every now and then to keep things fresh. So I'd say that the infantry certification costs are pretty fair and rewarding, for the most part, but the vehicle upgrades will you an arm and a leg, and some of the vehicles really need the 1000 cert upgrades just to reach a state of general usability. The fighters are gimped without 1000 cert missile pods, the Lightning tank needs a 250 cert main gun upgrade before it can really make much of a difference, the Liberator will have a much harder time fulfilling its role without the 1000 cert belly cannon upgrade, etc, etc.

I say you just up their firerate. If the Shilka can shoot faster, the skyguard can too.
Ye, but two looks pretty cool. [editline]25th November 2012[/editline] Do you get experience for people spawning/resupplying/etc at your deployed Sunderer? If so, how much is it?
after loosing two of my friends to the grind, i used my 100 or so certs i was saving for a belly gun on my sundy. one ams, an ammo dispenser and 200 more rounds in each gun later im ramming the TR in the crown with a tank zerg. it was glorious. anyone else play on Helios? it seems so lonely here...
The launcher is very broken for me. When I start it it just allocates a small amount of memory then freezes up. Not even taskkill /f /im launchpad.exe will end the lingering process. No launcher = no PS2.
I have a group of 4 friends but Planetside 2 doesn't seem to work for us. What happens when you take a flash or liberator to an enemy area (just the 5 of us) and one dies? He ends up getting seperated and walking back, or we have to fly all the way back. Anyway for this to work out better for us? We like our small individual base capturing though.

If you're doing something like that you generally need to bring an AMS Sunderer. A squadleader spawn beacon might also help.
i just read that the nightvision upgrade available to most vehicles/turrets is hugely helpful for spotting enemy infantry, because it makes them glow. How is its range? How noticeable is the glow? Would it be effective on a fighter geared towards anti-infantry? Or possibly an AI Liberator? My biggest problem with using the aircraft for taking out infantry is how dang difficult it is to actually see the people you're shooting at.
