It ranks you up and gets you certs. Certs being the most valuable resource in the game.
Ah XP gets you certs? Didnt know that. Ranks dont do anything thou right
They get you titles and emblems, but nothing beyond that.
and you can unlock extra loadouts. But you get all three pretty quickly. Oh and you need to be beyond br10 to use squad certs.
Prolly not, this game is wicked unoptimized. Maybe if your processor well exceeds requirements--game seems to be a lot more reliant on that than your GPU.
The game is weird in that it's flawlessly optimized if you meet the right processor specs the game looks for I.E. me running a 2500k i5 and 8gb of ram with a med/high videocard (but nothign really high end) runs the whole game no matter what is going on with flawless FPS max settings and max res. Yet i know people who have $500 video cards and high end core2's or high end phenoms/bulldozer/etc that are technically on par if not better than my processor and they struggle to run on medium. it seems like low end i7's also have problems but if your specs are just slightly off what the game looks for hardware wise even if "power wise" it should be good if not decent, it'll run like ass [editline]25th November 2012[/editline] Also posting on the main forums is totally useless You'll get your thread buried on page 3-5 within 30 minutes by a bunch of mindless spam repeating the same topics over and over
I'll give you my lunch for certs.
does anyone know what the game uses to calculate your certs, their drops seem a bit random
They get you titles and emblems, but nothing beyond that.
Certain things require a certain rank i.e. you need to rank up to unlock multiple class loadouts, all squad leader certs require a min rank of 10 as well
every 250 exp. It's not random.
I'll give you my lunch for certs.
Well if your lunch cost you $5, you could get a 50% XP booster for that amount that lasts a week :v:
does anyone know what the game uses to calculate your certs, their drops seem a bit random
you get one every for 250 XP points you earn

That is weird.I wasn't aware the problems were more pronounced on certain processors! I'm running an i7, which technically should be above the recommended specs, but I hit serious bottlenecking in high-action areas. Of course, my GPU is a few years out of date. I have an upgraded GeForce 275, which is better than the minimum requirements, but doesn't quite meet the recommended level. I'm good on RAM, though. I guess my problems could prolly be attributed to having a processor that, apparently, doesn't jive well with the game right now, and having a graphics card that only straddles the mark. [editline]25th November 2012[/editline]
Well if your lunch cost you $5, you could get a 50% XP booster for that amount that lasts a week :v:
My lunch was a $0.50 cup of Ramen Noodles and a glass of water, because I am literally poor! Much as I'd love to drop fifteen or twenty bucks on this game to support the developers (and as an incentive for them to get their shit in gear!), it just ain't in the cards right now!
Let's just think of weapons as an addition, and think more about leveling. It works, trust me. [editline]25th November 2012[/editline] Another thing is; Go heavy assault, RPG every armoured thing you see, stay close to the spawn, try to get hits on everything. You get so.many.assits.
Need to find a NC outfit on Miller.
I'm in this one. They're pretty chill but also organized http://www.51stregiment.com/news.php Forum->Join/Enlist if you wanna join
Appears that this game is only fun in off peak hours. Everyone just starts warping.
Need to find a NC outfit on Miller.
Same actually. What's your IGN? We could chill together Also, I've fallen in love with the NC Medic AR.
It would be nice if people could trade items.
Holy moly, medic assault rifle is actually pretty jammin. I figured he was pretty much only good for running around chucking revives, but that rifle is a pretty nasty threat! At least, the Vanu default assault rifle is. Accurate at range, from the hip, good damage, and low recoil. Plus, tons o' points! I'll just follow around a group of two or three people, try to snag a kill every now and then, and otherwise wait for my buddies to drop. Don't tell anybody, but I may have let some people die intentionally, by not killing a dude who I had a pretty good shot at until after he'd already gotten my friend--that way I could get experience for both a kill and a revive. Unscrupulous medic bastard.

Miller and Woodman are now fucked at the same time. Release Ready (tm)
Who has a char on woodman?
moi
i just read that the nightvision upgrade available to most vehicles/turrets is hugely helpful for spotting enemy infantry, because it makes them glow. How is its range? How noticeable is the glow? Would it be effective on a fighter geared towards anti-infantry? Or possibly an AI Liberator? My biggest problem with using the aircraft for taking out infantry is how dang difficult it is to actually see the people you're shooting at.
From what I remember from the beta when I had it on my reaver, vehicles seem to glow up to around 500 meters, and infantry at around 200 meters. That's up in the air though, so I can't really say what it's like for ground vehicles. However, this was before the inclusion of infared, and so they may have changed NV in order to balance the two out. [editline]November 25 2012[/editline] Damnit, forgot to refresh. What happened? This thread doesn't usually move that fast.
Infrared is weapons only, ain't it?
You can get different optics for vehicles.
Oh! The only options I saw for vehicle optics were "zoom" and "night vision." Which ones have infrared available?
Oh! The only options I saw for vehicle optics were "zoom" and "night vision." Which ones have infrared available?
Well, mosquito at least has IR for both primary and secondary weapon.

One of my own liberators shot me down last night. I don't even know how it happened.
Nevermind, I see it now. Weird, dunno how I missed that! [editline]25th November 2012[/editline] OOooooOOOoooh. I just trialed the PPA. MUCH better for taking out infantry than the default Scythe weapon! I only managed to get one kill before I got taken out by some dick with Air-to-Air pods, but I didn't have to work too terribly hard for that kill, and I got a few assists from strafing runs, so I'd say that's an improvement, overall! I think I'm gonna buy it and deck it out with some glowy-vision, to make me a menace to infantry. And it's only 100 Certs! That's really not too shabby, at all.
What scope do you think is the best for sniping? I wanna go for a high one but I don't wanna disable any mid-range sniping either.
