Stop crying, you obviously edited your UserOptions.ini, that's the only way to get such a short draw distance of 300 meters, the default draw distance is a ridiculously high number, far beyond 1500 meters.
Enemies magically disappearing at far away distances is a bug.
eh, there isn't even a setting for rendering characters, you have no idea what you're talking about buddy. Thats for terrain. This bug appears often on walls when your using jump pads to get around, you use the jump pad, land, wait 5 seconds, and are suddenly surrounded by 10 guys that just pop in late.
I dunno but outfit play has some of the best gameplay, typically when we roll sundies/gals we either lock it with the intention of ferrying out squadmates rather then everyone else. If you're not in our squad we assume you have your own ride/plan.
In short, stick to your squad/platoon.
imo defending a facility is a great way to get kills so who gives a shit about the capture bonus, you get 5 kills and you've already made up for it
You have to remember, for every dude who's getting five kills, there's five dudes who just chumpnutted on your side too. You need to convince those guys to stay, because the horde of incompetents still increase your survival time as a skilled player. One to 12 isn't good odds even if they're just morons firing blindly, just because the raw volume of fire guarantees you'll go down. Get a few ninnies, the fire is diffused, and you have more elbow room for actual defense.
I mean, sure, even by the time you're spawncamped you get 3 kills per spawn just for pressing W+M1, 5-7 if you're using a grenade, but it's not really fun by that point, it's just CHARGE *pingpingping* /dead CHAERG *pingpingping* /dead.
You can follow a tracer back to Vanu people firing for some seconds after the shot hits somebody. They definitely have the most obvious and easy to find tracers during the night.
um.. how? they are no more visible than the red or blue tracers of the other facs
um.. how? they are no more visible than the red or blue tracers of the other facs
only vanu tracers are really visible from the most direct angles.
which would be better to get
the 20mm machine gun or the 40mm grenade launncher for the flash.
and on that note, the AP lightening turret, or the HEAT one?
D'oh! I unlocked the nightvision cert for my Magrider's primary cannon, after having such luck with it on my Scythe, but its vision range is way smaller. With the Scythe, I can see pretty much the whole landscape--or at least as far as I need to for Anti-Infantry purposes. I thought the Magrider's IR vision range would be identical to the Scythe's, but the falloff is so short on it that it feels like a bit of a waste! I mean, I guess it helps a little bit, since you can see through smoke and stuff with it on, and it does highlight the enemies for landing those close-range shots a bit easier, but overall it seems like a bit of a waste. :[
Does anybody have it for the Lightning? Is the vision range longer than it is for the Magrider? Does the thermal vision have a longer range than the nightvision?
Also NC tracers are yellow, not blue.
my whole life is a lie
Running it maxed with i5 3570k at 4.9ghz and SLI GTX 580s at 60-75 FPS constant 1920x1200.
It is the most amazing thing.
Hell no, the point of friendly fire is to force people to be more careful, more tactical. How easy would it be to take a base if a couple dozen people ran in guns blazing. The attackers could fire in every which way, not worry about hitting teammates, while the defenders struggle to get a bead on one person. Splash damage without friendly fire would let armor/aircraft dominate even more then they do already.
Ye, problem with this is that that's what people do anyway! Vehicles just cut straight through their friendly infantry with zero regard for how many buddies are being squished beneath their treads. Meanwhile, nfantry just zerg into every engagement with their guns pointed in the approximate direction of the enemy, doing the deadly weapon equivalent of windmilling their arms in a fistfight.
The only class I've had some success at not getting teamkilled by is the Light Assault trooper, since I'm usually in trees or on top of buildings. But, according to the handy dandy death charts included in the stats screen, my current "death by friendlies" percentage sits at, count it: 16%

Disable friendly fire. :I

I've heard HEAT is the best option for the Lightning, as a rule. It still puts a hurt on tanks, but can also mess up infantry much more effectively than the default cannon. If you go with AP, you'll sacrifice all ability to take out infantry, and vice versa with an HE cannon.
Plus, the HEAT cannon only costs 250 certs!
Is it bad that I fucking love the stalker scout rifle? Shame the ridiculous rate of fire and clip size can hamper it's effective range by quite a bit.
For the Liberator: Zephyr or Dalton Secondary gun (belly gun)
Every time I see an enemy on a Flash I can't help but burst out laughing
I bought the explosive cannon thing for it, its fucking hilarious no one sees it coming.
Every time I see an enemy on a Flash I can't help but burst out laughing
i bet that one gunship pilot was laughing his ass off while shooting me and my mate's little Flash squad to bits
three Flashes, driving in the middle of a flat glacier in plain sight, at night, with headlights shining bright; suddenly, autocannon fire and rockets
talk about moving targets
Hey GoonSquad!
Thanks for letting me roll with you guys, was fun while it lasted <3

Also let it be known that I should never be allowed to even approach an aircraft in the game, let alone fly it.
Also let it be known that I should never be allowed to even approach an aircraft in the game
but gunner's a good job mate
Well today I saw NC and VS all gather round the western biolab in esamir and violently argue over whether or not white people are destined to dominate the world, with VS initiating the argument.
It got so intense that VS began to focus more on the argument and less on the actual battle to the point that we (NC) managed to fight off a 2:1 joint strike without drawing anyone from the rest of the front.
CHKilroy even attended. It was weird imagining the insults he threw in his voice.
For the Liberator: Zephyr or Dalton Secondary gun (belly gun)
I know I prefer gunning with a Dalton. It allows you to fly at much greater altitudes, and it doesn't require as much precision as the Zephyr. I believe that Zephyr can put out a bit more DPS, and is probably more efficient against light armor like Lightnings, but it takes longer overall to take out most vehicles since you basically need to hit them directly or the damage is patootey. With the Dalton, it's a friggen breeze. Faster projectile, more damage, greater splash area, and better at higher altitudes (higher altitudes are also safer from all ground-based threats).
Shot down a Scythe with my standard issue TR sidearm.
felt so good
how does one do vehicle stuff like kick passengers and lock it? also is it possible to let other people drive?

40mm if you're good with grenade launcher type weapons
how does one do vehicle stuff like kick passengers and lock it? also is it possible to let other people drive?
pgdown by default.
you can let squad and platoon members drive if it's set to that. I don't think a setting exists to allow randoms to drive.

For Flash: 40mm. The 20mm is okay but the 40mm is awesome if you can land the shots. Highly underrated weapon.
For Lightning: Either work well, though AP will kill non-Lightnings in one less shot than HEAT. Personally I liked having AP and HE and switching between the two.
I spent the last 6 hours deploying a sunderer and transporting people and for some reason it was fun

How's the experience gain from people spawning from your sunderer? I was thinking about certing into that stuff, but I wasn't sure whether or not it'd be worth it.

well said, but it's my hope that the current idiocy is just due to an influx of steam retards, as I've noticed much more TK than in the beta, and that over time the population will thin down a bit to people who actually know what they're doing and we wont see such an issue with friendly fire
I'm still on the fence about friendly fire, they should have turned it off for a few weeks back in beta just to see how it goes
How's the experience gain from people spawning from your sunderer? I was thinking about certing into that stuff, but I wasn't sure whether or not it'd be worth it.
2XP per spawn. put it in a good location during a major base assault and you'll literally have hundreds of people spawning on it throughout the course of the battle
Biolab fights are a great place to see how much friendly fire adds to the game.
Seriously, every death is 31% [weapon of your faction].
I never have issues with friendly fire. target identification is pretty easy for NC, just shoot everything that isn't blindingly blue
I never have issues with friendly fire. target identification is pretty easy for NC, just shoot everything that isn't blindingly blue
I have difficulty with the NC as a Vanu, because the team colors are pretty similar, especially with some of the special camos from the cash shop. I don't have this problem when playing as the Terran!

Seriously, I swear while flying around in a reaver at night NC and vanu sundies look exactly the same.
