I wish there was more tools for the ACE. Maybe a deployable sensor and/or a radar jammer.

Probably shoulda just said engineer deployables but no big deal
Damn, the Dalton-Liberator sure is effective against infantry. Worth the 1000 certs. I wanna be a liberator gunner, but I don't know any liberator pilots. I've been trying to get my friend to join, so I can gently coerce him into certing into the Liberator for me.

Declare the vehicle squad only and off you go.
Yeah, but then I'd have to cert into it, and the useful guns are expensive. What use is having friends if you can't exploit them?

I kinda want the 50 cert optics but it seems like the 200 cert optics would be best.
Is that the night vision or thermal optics? I kinda want the 50 cert optics but it seems like the 200 cert optics would be best.
It's infrared vision. The rest isn't really worth it in my opinion. The range is just too limited.
It's infrared vision. The rest isn't really worth it in my opinion. The range is just too limited.
Is the view range on the infrared about the range of the render range of the infantry and can you toggle it?
Is the view range on the infrared about the range of the render range of the infantry and can you toggle it?
On tanks (at least, for the Magrider), the IR range is considerably shorter than the draw range for infantry. It's really only useful for landing face-shots at close range and seeing through smoke. The range for the aerial IR vision is much higher, though. It gives more than enough bang for your buck for picking out infantry. Hell, for only 50 Certs it's probably the best unlock you can get for an ESF. [editline]27th November 2012[/editline]
Is the view range on the infrared about the range of the render range of the infantry and can you toggle it?
IR is currently a much better value, also. The Thermal costs 200, and it does pretty much the exact same job (with a shorter range). And yeah, the special vision filters are activated by holding the right mouse button, like when zooming.

It's just too effective against infantry in its current form. Knowing the F2P business model, they're probably waiting for enough players to spend actual money on it, before they make it useless against infantry.
Is the view range on the infrared about the range of the render range of the infantry and can you toggle it?
Depends on your settings I guess. You zoom in to activate it. I hope this gives you an idea of the range: [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/578974165133747584/4AAE6A98493386CF70760B5740E94C4908C20732/[/t]
How do you actually get 1000 certs? Do you get loads of them when you unlock particular ranks, or do you really have to grind them one by one? or, you know, buy them
one by one, and the occasional packets from earning medals. So far I've earnt 2600 certs. I've got my magrider where I want it to be and some upgrades for my heavy/ I'm going to take a break from the game for a week or something so I don't overplay it.
If anyone plays TR Waterson, I'd really like to join a competent, goal-oriented squad/outfit or what have you.
There is TCC (The Confed Crew) which is the outfit I play with. We are somewhat competent, we've undermined enemy zergs on our own and even held biolabs against 2 factions at once using half-assed teamwork. :v: There are probably better outfits, but I like this one because its not huge. We always have like 2-3 full squads when we go into platoon mode and we usually have decent tank lines going when we go deep into enemy territory. My highest was only 14000

Any VS players on Waterson?
Alright. [editline]27th November 2012[/editline] I gotta say the AA rocket launcher that heavys got is damn nice, even though it doesn't do that much damage everyone who gets a lock on gets terrified and runs away, really clears those stupid aircrafts out of the sky. And you can use it just fine against ground stuff too.
So twoshotting reavers/scythes/mosq's isn't a lot? okay.
Every time I tell that to myself I end up never playing again, or not often.
Well I normally stick to it, if its an online game that is. I'm going to spend this week catching up on eve online ready for the big patch on the 4th. But this reminds me I need to finish XCOM.
I wish the TR soldiers sounded like that ingame.
The speech gave off a huge Helghan vibe. Now if only TR soldiers had orange glowing goggles...
Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to release the game without being able to rebind the mouse Axis'? Seriously? Not only can you not remap them, you can't even change them in your control config because the mouse axis' seem to be hard coded into the control scheme. Fucking stupid.
Every time I tell that to myself I end up never playing again, or not often.
Same here, it happened with World of Tanks.
How's a battle Sunderer fare against infantry/light armor? I was thinking of saving up enough for Blockade armor and a couple of AI grenade launchers with IR vision enabled, for doing heavy-hitting drive-by's on infantry forces with my friends, and for some light artillery. Useful at all, or would it make more sense just to cert into a lightning? I really want a vehicle that I can tool around in with my two friends, and the Sunderer seems like the only one that puts us all on mostly-equal footing. The advantages of the Sunderer, as far as I can tell, are that it's pretty darn beefy, and two AI grenade launchers might put out more hurt in a greater period of time than one HEAT cannon. It's also not prohibitively expensive, so we could all theoretically cert into one in pretty short order. Downsides, I guess, are that it costs a ton of resources.
What does ESF stand for?
Easy Soldier Fucker [editline]27th November 2012[/editline] Emergency Situation Flipper
man how do people get so many cert points, I cap at 100-200 before it slows down to a near halt, and after a week of getting almost no certs I buy something and start getting kills again
