You idiots need to let there be gunners in your magrider. You get points and you don't look like a huge douche.
Speaking of Magriders what should I grab for mine, the magburner, side armor, or a chassis upgrade?
ghost i think, but from what ive gathered its pretty bad my friend bought it, the only time it 1 shots people is if you headshot them, otherwise after the first shot they run away. he stated also that he dislikes the fact that you have to hold your breath, which makes it fairly hard to get the second shot on a person if they don't run way.
Wot But that's how it goes for NC snipers [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] That gun seems like it's almost exactly like the default NC sniper rifle
Speaking of Magriders what should I grab for mine, the magburner, side armor, or a chassis upgrade?
Magburner is good if you get stuck or to get up hills, the chassis upgrade does the same thing more or less. And get Frontal armor, by gods why are you being hit on the sides? You turn on a dime and can strafe! No reason to not take a frontal hit! I got the chassis first, I like hover power too much; rolling around on top of other tanks is too much fun.
My friend got stuck in a pit on Esamir.. Map designers are assholes
I think that's just a missing crystal spike.
Eheheheh... I bought a new PC yesterday, first thing I did was download this via steam and max it, felt so good. Especially since it'd crash on my old pc after 20 minutes, cause a 15 minute freeze or BSOD; despite graphics being low and draw dist limited. So yeah, I'll be playing this from time to time now.
You idiots need to let there be gunners in your magrider. You get points and you don't look like a huge douche.
i lock my tanks gunner seat now because 8 times out of 10 the person who gets in shoots at planes with rockets. they didnt know i was there before, but they do now!
Awww yeah, yesterday me and my friend were flying around with mosquitos and shooting rockets at anything that moved. I got around 65 kills and 7 deaths, so awesome. Also, liberator Dalton 150mm + night vision = epic win.
i lock my tanks gunner seat now because 8 times out of 10 the person who gets in shoots at planes with rockets. they didnt know i was there before, but they do now!
I find it amazing that gunners in sunderers will legitimately shoot tanks that weren't looking at them, and then suddenly we're fucked.
I find it amazing that gunners in sunderers will legitimately shoot tanks that weren't looking at them, and then suddenly we're fucked.
bonus points if they do it with the kobalt. the only time its acceptable to shoot at a tank in a sundy is if its almost dead, or its the back of a lightning.
It's the same for people who don't understand that it's hard enough to fight the one tank turning around about to return fire without another tank noticing us.
You idiots need to let there be gunners in your magrider. You get points and you don't look like a huge douche.
its better to grab a second magrider then use the default turret.
2 mags of cannon and 2 of rocket is a long time, pretty much anything you're shooting would have the capacity to kill you first, if it can fight back
16 rockets shoots off in what, 3 seconds? while it's reloading, shoot your main cannon which is probably another 3 seconds, then 3 seconds of rockets and they're either dead by then or will be by the time you reload again. effectively it's a 10 second kill on any tank, not sure of too many tank drivers that can take down a mosquito really i do that with any vehicle i can. shoot the main, switch to secondary while main is reloading and continue shooting. or while i'm trying to defend my sunderer while it's deployed i just switch back and forth between the 2 gunner seats while the other is reloading. really awesome that you can do that
16 rockets shoots off in what, 3 seconds? while it's reloading, shoot your main cannon which is probably another 3 seconds, then 3 seconds of rockets and they're either dead by then or will be by the time you reload again. effectively it's a 10 second kill on any tank, not sure of too many tank drivers that can take down a mosquito
That's way too much. I think the rockets should fire slower and do more damage with less capacity. Right now it feels like balls of air with, really, no impact.
That's way too much. I think the rockets should fire slower and do more damage with less capacity. Right now it feels like balls of air with, really, no impact.
Well considering the fact that is for a heavy tank, and you can upgrade the amount of rockets you have with certs. I don't think it's all that much. Plus, if you're flying around chances are there's a base nearby where you can resupply. i do agree that slower firing rockets with more damage and less capacity would be preferable, but it looks so damn cool at night when you see a massive barrage of rockets flying around
Today a galaxy full of maxes dropped on me. Just suddenly ten maxes dropped on top of the roof I was on. rip
WoAh!! The big laser cannon secondary on the Magrider is insane. I hit an enemy prowler in the rear armor, and took half its health! First time using the thing, and I one-shotted a couple of flashes, took about five Lightnings, and landed the killing blow on at least three MBT's. Plus, exploded a Mosquito that thought it'd be a good idea to dive at us. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] PCHOOOoooo PCHOOOoooo PCHOOOoooo
I just woke up from a dream where someone in this thread posted a video showing new common pool humvee-style vehicles and a revised vanguard design. It was so awesome until someone posted "You guys know this is fake, right?" I know this thread too well.
I don't see what wrong with the vanguard design.
But then my bullet well ran dry, and the air cavalry descended. Rockets rained like frogs on plague-day, and I closed my eyes and looked skyward.
Pretty much sums up my first 3 hours I seriously have no idea what I'm doing, and I feel like I'm wasting peoples time by just driving around shooting random people, any tips?
deploy into heavy combat areas from the map, follow the zerg
99% of dogfights without A2A missiles end like this - you ram in to the back of them because they're constantly stopping instantly and starting up again, you both die - he rams in to you because he takes a tight turn after instantly stopping, you both die - a teammate rams in to you because he's trying to chase the same guy, enemy gets away, you and your teammate die - another enemy rams in to the back of you because you're constantly stopping and starting trying to keep up with the guy you're chasing that's just randomly flailing around in mid air, you and the random enemy die they did a great job of making A2A missiles essential aside from the fact that they're OP, but because dogfighting without them is atrociously bad due to the fucked flight controls
A mosquito and I were trying to out maneuver each other when we ended up with our aircraft facing each other literally nose-to-nose. We ended up hovering in place and shooting each other until one of us died. I won and it was glorious.

And what fucked flight controls?
So i've played this a few hours and its major fun, but i definitely feel i need to be involved in squad/platoons to get the full experience out of it. Is facepunch actively squadding?
Using after-burners and the up/down thrusting can make for some wicked maneuvers. Look at how crazy it turns when you turn sharp and press ctrl with after burners. Too bad none of these help against A2A. I hope to god they dont add anymore weapons to this game. I dont want this to take the route of tribes ascend [sp]which is about to recieve its final and last patch [/sp]
I probably wouldn't mind A2A missiles as much as I do now if you could somehow out-maneuver them easier or if it took longer for them to lock after popping flares. I don't know, I understand A2A missiles are essential to a game like this but in the state they're in now it's difficult to survive long while flying.
Only 2 dog fights I had not involving A2A missiles ended in a ramming. And what fucked flight controls?
when i refer to flight controls, i mean how the plane itself controls. not the actual buttons to control it. instant stopping and hovering and such really fucks with how dogfights are actually.. fought. BF3 is a very good example when they added in the harrier which could stop and hover, the dogfighting in this aircrafts was retarded and there weren't any manoeuvres which someone would do to get behind the other, it was just random stopping and starting until (just like PS2) they rammed each other or got blown up from someone else. with the other jets, it`s actual manoeuvres which people pull to get behind the other. rolls, spins, AB turns to get the edge. in PS2 i don`t actually see any of this in fights that don`t have A2A missiles, i just see a majority of them ending in rams and the other ones just complete luck that the other guy eventually after several minutes of random flips dwindled away on health and blew up.
I want the VTOL from crysis, that was awesome at flying.
I want the VTOL from crysis, that was awesome at flying.
after the patch you mean, because the default version rapidly loses altitude whenever you fire the chaingun
