Planetside 2 Thread v2 - Beta floodgates open GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY

Developers need to start actively punishing people who pick overpopulated teams when the game comes out.
Like, giving people extra resources for joining underpop factions in planetside 1 didn't work, so something needs to be done.
One day i'm gonna sneak up on an enemy aircraft and shout through voicechat.
"Can't let you do that, starfox!"
Hell, it worked for wolf.
To all the people that use A2A missiles: Go fuck yourselves you non-skilled assholes.
my pledge as a reaver pilot: I will never use A2A missiles, and I vow to go out of my way to shoot down people who do
[sub]I will however use hellfires because fuck trying to strafe infantry targets with the cannon[/sub]
How do you even avoid A2A, you get no indication of where it's coming from or anything.
How do you even avoid A2A, you get no indication of where it's coming from or anything.
No way to avoid it except flares, which are 100 certs so fuck that
How do you even avoid A2A, you get no indication of where it's coming from or anything.
get the flares, use them when you see the solid LOCK indicator on your hud, and otherwise try to put solid objects between you and the missile
100 certs no thanks. I'll just not fly the stupid planes then.
Reaver canister shot is absolute shit, don't waste your money.
How much do the A2A missiles cost? and how's their lock/tracking like?
To all the people that use A2A missiles: Go fuck yourselves you non-skilled assholes.
And from what I observe TR are the most with that fucking shit.
I'm renouncing TR and going NC, this faction is filled with tards.
was just flying over a base, got locked on by something, dodged down into a canyon, flew under one of the low bridges, flew round a cliff, and then got blown up by the missile that was fired 20 seconds ago
which moron designed this fucking weapon
How much do the A2A missiles cost? and how's their lock/tracking like?
Apparently you can lock with free look and it's quite fast. No idea though.

the same moron who thinks Flares for 100 Cert points is a good idea.

Someone who got sick of 8billion fucking reavers strafing them with rockets
It feels like the TR mosquito are just flying around unmatched since no once can care to take the scythe and shoot them down. They're just roaming around with A2A and Hellfires raping everything.
There needs to be some infantry AA weapons available from the beginning. Air power in the beta is currently overwhelming.
Also, what's with having to buy multiple versions of the same weapon? A 20mm machine gun on one tank should function pretty much the same on another. I know there are small differences in the mounting and stuff but having to spend thousands of auraxium on it is kind of ridiculous.
Also is there a way to transfer resources to other players? Would be nice if we could. Would be even better if we could transfer resources to an outfit pool where players with the proper roles would be able to transfer those resources back out as needed.

well this is just inconvenient

That's odd whenever someone fires an A2A missile at me I flip my shit
but then nothing happens & the lock on message disappears after a few seconds.
I've only ever gotten shot down by them once
How long should will it take them to send some beta invites? I'd like to play that game but I've got a feeling that I might not play it before open beta.

it used to be the opposite, AA MAXes would deny the use of aircraft practically everywhere, it was horrible
I'd imagine a lot of people disagree but I prefer it this way - that's not to say it doesn't need major tweaking, but it's better than what we had to begin with

The problem is that PS1 turned into the exact same kind of mess: air power > everything else. Reason is simple: aircraft can dump most of their damage in a single barrage, while tanks have to slug it out to get any real hurt in, and the tanks die like bitches while an aircraft's only real threat is another aircraft.
All in all it's just another classic example of multiplayer gaming: high speed and alpha > everything else.
BF3 also has the problem of air power, there is no proper way to take a plane down except using another plane.
Question for you guys:
How do you find the night time?
I personally find it fun, and it's quite dark for me, makes it super hard to spot things sometimes.
Now, I've heard people say it's bright outside, but I'm just wondering if I they "cheat" or incorrectly set their monitors to be bright (a lot of people do that).
How long does it take for the twitterchumps to gib me my key?

And then a new sniping trickshot was born.

It makes battles look really nice. Tracers are beautiful.

But at least you get flares right away, and don't have to like spend several hours playing first before you get countermeasures against flares. 4
they really need to do something about the excessive "one-manning" people are doing, Getting really tired of chasing one or two guys around our territory because everyone else is fucking off somewhere. it doesn't feel like war, just busy work.
We need one of the smaller continents to come in, to much open space and not enough people to cover it on Indar.

You get flares on your first progression in a jet. They're immediate in the Helos. So it could take you hours just to get flares in BF3 because everything will deny you.
Also I have just realized the magic of drop pods. That feel when you land on an enemy gal and insta-gib it.

place squad beacon under enemy galaxy, deny assault by just spawning

I thought you got them right off the bat in BF3 now?
And no, if you are desperate getting them you can take a jet, land on a checkpoint, capture it and bam. You got yourself some flares.
Or destroy some empty tanks people often leave.
