What time did the keys go out?
Around 2 hours ago, but I hear they went fast despite twitter saying IGN had unlimited keys.
Just message me on steam or something and I'll get ya guys in, playing right now.
Also, I found this earlier:

HAS SCIENCE GONE TOO FAR?
I've been looking at that $40 Alpha Squad pack to get into the beta and get some perks.
http://www.planetside2.com/alpha-squad
Is it worth it?
I'm loving how easy it is to shoot down reavers now. NC got all cushy with the earlier reavers and high pop counts, now it shows as they're easily the least skilled pilots. No joke, so many are still literally flying in a straight line and they're not newbs either since I can see the A2A mounted on them.
I wanted to play NC, but all of my friends are playing TR. Didn't have a choice.
The Cycler is fucking terrible.

40$ is pretty steep for a f2p game. Besides, I think earning the weapons I'll be using gives more satisfaction than just getting them instantly.
But that's just my opinion, personally I wouldn't go for it.
I'm going to resist paying for as long as I can after I dumped over 150 dollars into APB.
Friend suggested this game, will try to get beta key

This is so true
The buff AA got is a godsend for me, and I primarily like to fly scythes
Sure I can no longer just solo dive-bomb a tower or base anymore, and I can't really handle attacking all by myself a single glob of people.
But you are still excellent at picking off stragglers, and you now actually have to work with your armies/air force to survive against a hard threat (like a main base or tower, or a fully manned gal).
It also is VERY useful for me since I can now retreat at low health to a tower/base our empire owns, and make my escape. Before if you were being tailed, you were fucked. Now you can draw (dumb) enemies into your own territory to get them shredded by your AA units (of course you need to be somewhere where the front line is - doesn't work so well if you retreat into an abandoned tower).
So now I can't just go anywhere and laugh of attacks. Reavers also don't totally dominate, so I feel like I'm not screwed by the "swarm". What I find works really well as an A2G pilot is picking of idle enemies/strays, making hit and run attacks across a main force, and attacking only with a larger force (so not all the attention is on you). I've yet to die when doing the above things. It's the idiots who think they can solo/fly into a main base and survive on the way out that are bitching about the change. Most of these are (surprise!!) reaver pilots. Especially since you are still REALLY effective when making fast hit and runs - if you try and hover and make all the kills you'll die. Keeping your speed up, and softening the main army - A2G is REALLY good for that now.. almost their primary role. You still get XP most of the time too as long as you did decent enough damage.
It's like the AA dominance they had before, except now Anti-Air units don't have the super range they did either. Before when AA was dominant, you literally had no chance in the air since a single max unit could target about just anything in the sky, or a single turret and dominant. RIght now the spread and bullet drop are far too large to engage any air targets past a certain distance without missing many of your shots. Making AA killer when they come in low, but better as a way to "soften" or "deter" air at a distance (instead of just outright gibbing them there).
This also has a side benefit of making Gal Drops REALLY useful, since you can't afford to just land your gal into a base as a spawn point - you'll get killed. Quick flybys can still do wonders though.

I decided to purchase this, I'll probably play enough hours on it to make it worth it.
Are there any NDA's still active or is it all fair game?
Is there any way to change server?

just a heads up, if you were getting killed by reavers flying in a straight line in the first place, you fucking sucked
[editline]7th September 2012[/editline]
unless they had A2A but everyone has A2A
A2A or A2G with the current patch?
A2A or A2G with the current patch?
well, I don't wanna get A2A because it makes dogfighting cheap, but I don't know what they've done to hellfires in this current patch yet
[editline]7th September 2012[/editline]
I want to know too
So they finally put the patch notes up...
And I don't have the permissions to view them.
Anyone interested in trading? You get me Alpha Squad and I'll gift you something on steam that is worth the same amount.
I can't get the Alpha squad thingy since I only have a debit card and not a credit card... I would appreciate if anybody wants to do this.
I seriously came back from school only to find out i missed my one big chance at getting an IGN key... Does anyone have an extra they picked up that i could have?

"The gunner seat in a vehicle is no longer inverted when inverted flight controls are selected. “Invert Vertical Look” is now the authority for vehicle turret controls."
One of the best changes.
The changes for rocket pods seem okay. Already used to clearing out infantry with my main gun.
"The Vehicle Managment Window now allows players to set vehicle permissions and remove people from their vehicle."
Hope the removing from vehicle is on the ground only. Would suck if you were high up in the air, and some guy wanted to grief you.

VS on EU1 is homesick.

Also, did anyone else get booted off?
Relogged and it said the pop was 0% in every faction, but once I was in-game there were tons of people.
Well, more like every faction is homesick.

Thirty minutes in a game where battles take about two hours to win.
