Downloaded in 10 minutes, hah.
Are people in here smoking something?
All I had was, well, not sure.
It didn't download anything, just started patching a 34 MB patch.
Well shart, PS2 gets a huge update on the day of the BM:S release.

BM:S releases in like 8 hours, bro. You've got plenty of time for both so long as your internet isn't shit.

Try One hour and 42 mins. And I'm going to be at school until 1 PM to boot. I just can't decide what to play first.
Because you are downloading 3.8gb worth of stuff does not mean you are downloading 3.8gbs worth of new content.
I don't want you guys to be disappointed. But small changes often need big downloads to replace the redundant game files.

Yeah, I found that out just now. My friend told me lies :v
FUCK THAT MEANS I'M GONNA COME HOME AND BE LIKE "PLANETSIDE OR BLACK MESA ;~;"

it's not 34000 MB, it's 34000 KB.
So yeah, no Esamir.
So I see a dev running around with what looks like a TR-MCG
cept he was holding it like an assault rifle, and it was smaller.
I.E it didn't look like this

That's just a placeholder, the real MCG will look like in that image when they finish it off

I guess it was just using assault rifle animations as place-holders, and an incomplete model.
Also, has anyone else not gotten certs while logged off? My vanu, which I haven't used in like a week, only has like 2 certs.

Must be 34MB for people recently joining the beta. For me it's 3800MB. So yeah, like NoDachi said.

I've been in the beta for a month now. I don't think that's it.
Jesus fuck they changed a lot.
it's now nearly impossible to cap a 3 or more point base by yourself due to the Influence cap rate buff the defenders get.
Smedly I am pleased.
I just killed 2 people attacking our control point with the Light Assault main gun, then my mag ran out so I killed 2 MAXes (or something) with my pistol
This is my second time playing
Also, what am I supposed to do in this game? I just run around looking for stuff to kill

Long story short, you want to capture bases on the map. You do this by checking the map, seeing which areas are not the right color, putting a waypoint down, going there, and standing near the "lettered" points until they get captured.
It does get more complicated than that once you get used to it: in some bases, you have to destroy the shield generators, and it is usually a good idea to destroy the spawn generator (looks like a triangle inside a triangle on your HUD) so enemies can't spawn. There are other things you can do too, but I won't get into that now.
My suggestion: when you get in game, push F11 to auto-join a squad, and start chatting with them while you work together. You'll figure it out quick enough.
What the fuck. Ingame i never hear anyone voicechatting, but when i minimize, i hear people grunting and stuff. What the shit is that guy doing.
did they fix performance issues or rubber-banding problems in this patch or did it mostly add new stuff?
i hope they fix the shaders because at night time it looks like everything is a space-age war plastic
[editline]14th September 2012[/editline]

Patch notes?
Patch notes?
They seem pretty slow at compiling the patch notes.
Its like they're waiting for the tech staff to pass the information to the public side of things to get it wrote up.
According to the fourms...
The game has been patched to resolve a few outstanding technical and gameplay issues. Players may notice the following changes:
The Vanu Sovereignty M60 Mortar has been fixed.
Weapons have been balanced and will feel slightly different. Learn more here.
"Learn more here" leads to..
Hello, I just wanted to loop everyone into a few infantry weapon changes that are coming soon.
The first change is that weapons are being retuned for slightly longer engagements. This is a bunch of small changes on each weapon and I can’t list out everything, but the major change that almost every weapon will share is less accuracy loss over sustained fire. This mainly means that your cone of fire will bloom out slower when you’re holding the trigger down.
A bigger change is revised recoil patterns on each weapon. We want all players to be able to learn the weapons and get better with them over time so we’re working hard to give each weapon its own pattern and handling characteristics. This means that you’re going to see some shifts in how some of your current weapons feel and it will take some getting used to. As examples, a gun that recoiled straight up before might pull to the right now, or a gun that was fairly steady might have more horizontal recoil.
We’re also going to be rolling out a bunch of balance changes based on feedback and what we are seeing on beta. Changes like a revised VS sniper rifle, pistols evened out between the factions, and more. I want these changes to be incremental so that we don’t swing the balance completely in the other direction, so please keep providing feedback on these and any later changes we make.
Thanks

Also I didn't get a 3GB update mine was only about 50MB so I don't know where ya'll are getting that. And there's no patch notes about anything else added except for the above and some minor technical fixes
Not sure if patch-day-paranoia or not, but Vanu sniper rifle seems to be way stronger per shot now? Like it would take me 4 shots, now 2.
I was just copy'n'pasting that shiz over.
Shame I can't play for another week. Let me know how they changed them :v:
