Ok apparently his realmlist was faf.beta.worldofwarcraft.com and his patchlist or whatever was patch.faf.beta.worldofwarcraft.com. I guess someone can try it out. I've asked him for pictures and he says that the pictures just come out as black, even the ones in the Screenshot folder. So unless that realmlist works, this myth has been busted.

Tell him to try harder, the friends and family alpha realmist is public-beta.logon.battle.net and eu.version.worldofwarcraft.com, patch.faf.beta.worldofwarcraft.com doesn't even resolve to anything so it wouldn't connect anyway
