less time off a CD that will save your life/drop your threat if you manage to overtake the tank on aggro, which should be easy to do on a hunter
mend pet, lets say your pet goes from happy to content in a boss fight, you're loosing DPS on your pet what do you do? feed it? oh wait you're in combat, if you're quick with a mend pet this will keep your pet happy
should your pet die though, do you want your revive pet spell to possibly take longer because of damage pushing the cast time back? unless theres a hard interupt coming your way you're pretty much guarenteed to get your pet back...whats not to like...
they're the only real choices for hunters
lets see what your other choices are in minor glyphs..
50% more damage when you take control of your pet, why would you be doing this?
glyph of scare beast, more of a pvp one this one, useful against feral druids and other hunter pets and thats about it..
or a slightly larger radius on aspect of the pack, an ability you don't use in combat (i hope)
can i also recomend you tame yourself a wolf? after 2-3 heroics it'll be level 80 and you'll have a pet that not only increases its attack power, but yours aswell, whats not to like...
oh and don't forget you'll need new glyphs for your survival dual spec

How do you know there's going to be a talent reset? Not every patch has one, just ones with significant talent changes.

unless you're desperately cant-afford-to-repair poor then why wait, they only reset talents if they change something major in a tree, and this late into the expansion i doubt they'll be doing that, and the next patch isn't due for a while yet i'd say

If you actually paid attention to what is coming out in Catacaylsm, they are removing/adding talents. When the alpha first came up, MMO-Champion had the talent editor for the new trees. They have been completely revamped.
you have a LOT of time before your talents will be reset.

I guess I should do it. I will try doing it tomorrow.
so you're going to wait 4-5 months (maybe) just to respec? You can get enough gold for that with 3 dailies, thats like 10 minutes.
