Right not all companies have said this though making it a theory and I was also talking about the other reasons you proposed.

Bioware stated that Mass Effect 2 had too much awesome to contain on one disc, so with that same logic; Mass Effect 2 contains too much awesome to fit into 2009.

Also, I personally believe that several great games have been released this year, prior to the Holidays. It kinda of makes room for a good development space, then more releases next year.

Anyone in their right mind would rather wait to play something excellent, than to have a sloppy, rushed finished product. I do understand the want for some good Christmas releases, but the ones beforehand, and the ones coming soon after far out-weigh the void in between.

I think your playing into the vagueness of your statement too much. I'm pretty sure only a few companies have come out to say they are dodging the MW2 release. I also fail to see how releasing in January will somehow dodge MW2?
Advertisements for games released in December would still be playing in January for large titles like Mass Effect. And why would fucking BioWare need to give a shit about MW2 anyway? Use [b]your[/b] head.
Notice you get beat down every second and then it takes you forever to come up with something else to say, because you have to think of a way to foolishly sustain this dead horse you are beating.
Also, at the Dodging of MW2, a thought is that it will be a large portion of game sales at this point due to the history and hype. Devs often don't care about other releases, and conflict is fine. But, it gives them a great time to put on some shine to their new creation. A great developer would avoid the timeframe of release like this even in the Holiday season, under certain circumstances.
