Now if I only had friends to play splitscreen with... :smithicide:
The answer to this thread... "Wii" I hate it but it has is.
Wii isn't an answer. We want splitscreen on a HD console. Every game should have splitscreen (not really every but nearly all)
Yeah, whenever my older cousin drops in, we have hour long sessions of Goldeneye on the N64 using 4 way splitscreen. Can't do that with any other game though.

I'm missing the power cord to my N64
Splitscreen/lan/system link =
I fear for the future of Gaming in general... 12 month Subscribtion to Xbox Live - £40 New Map pack your forced to buy to play with some mates - £8 2 player splitscreen co-op/match on Timesplitters 2 and 3 (or goldeneye if you perfer) with a few cans of coke or beer with a best friend: Fucking Priceless moments.
Goldeneye/ perfect dark is the shit. Can't wait for the remakes.
Some part of the issue is the demanding graphics of today's games. That's why when you play a game like Resistance in splitscreen there is a noticeable drop in rubble and random objects lying around.
This is why im getting New Super Mario Bros Wii for xmas. I don't give a shit about fancy graphics if i can't play one damn game with my family on xmas day.
I'm fairly certain that the reason there are less games with split-screen these days is because the games are getting more and more graphically intense, and the console can't really handle rendering for more than one client.

THEN raped the draw distance to the tip of your nose, and just to top it off, low resolution textures were loaded instead. Splitscreen is a dieing trend, and I hate this industry for it.
Splitscreen. Oh man, the memories :D I remember playing the entire Perfect Dark Campaign on N64 with my brother in 1 sitting, got through many cans of coke and crisps but it was such fun :D We tried it when he bought World at War on the 360, but it was just unplayable. Terrible. The nazi zombie mode also used that godawful screen splitting method, and you couldn't get someone online in on the action. Damn industry!

Maybe we should start an online petition, I mean they ALWAYS work.
I remember playing 4 player nightfire on my ps2
This is why I have 1000 hours on my brawl game... fun with friends IN the room.
Mario kart double dash was the shit
Mario kart double dash was the shit
If they had brought back the same multiplayer for mario kart wii I'd be in heaven.
RE5 doesn't have any framerate drops or any less random objects even when playing splitscreen. Maybe their engine is more suitable for it or something? And I wouldn't mind if there would be some graphical difference between singleplayer and splitscreen games, graphics are not something that should overrun gameplay, and splitscreen offers a lot of gameplay value to any game.
SNIPTY DIPTY SnAP
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Well I only own a PS3 so...
The issue is that it isn't as easy anymore to do splitscreen. The fact that you expect graphical beauty, great AI, everything else, AND splitscreen and the console in question to do that TWICE? Most games are too much for that to be done, some games manage it, but all the same, not many are going to be able to. Yes, it sucks, but until the technology is so much better than it is now, it's not going to work.
Mario kart double dash was the shit
Just a couple weeks ago I replayed MKDD for the lols. I spent 4 days playing nothing but it. I beat every cup on every difficulty.
Well I only own a PS3 so...
Sorry didn't mean it that way.

If you want lots of splitscreen/ same screen multiplayer games, Wii is probably the best option.
Yeah, but wii doesn't have so many great shooter/action etc. games that are the best for splitscreen play.
Fucking super smash brothers brawl
Fucking super smash brothers brawl
There's one. Is one enough?
Maybe we should start an online petition, I mean they ALWAYS work.
No sarcasm. Take L4D2 boycott, give us tf2 back and dedicated servers mw2 petitions. [editline]11:32AM[/editline]
There's one. Is one enough?
one of what?
This is why I have 1000 hours on my brawl game... fun with friends IN the room.
To bad some first gen wii's can't play it (like mine) so melee has 2000+ hours on it.
