Splintercell: Chaos theory :buddy:
Last few days I've been playing some mean MW2 split screen with some buddies. It's amazing.
RE5 doesn't have any framerate drops or any less random objects even when playing splitscreen. Maybe their engine is more suitable for it or something? And I wouldn't mind if there would be some graphical difference between singleplayer and splitscreen games, graphics are not something that should overrun gameplay, and splitscreen offers a lot of gameplay value to any game.
In RE5 you also tend to be in smaller areas with less going on in them.
Time Splitters 2 is best console FPS ever, if all console games followed its standard we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Fixed. :eng101:
They should keep Splitscreen in, put Online multiplayer in and NOT SIMPLIFY PC GAMING.
I think PC gaming is going in the wrong way, due to console gaming. Matchmaking on the PC is retarded, a major benefit of PC games is having dedicated servers, it's worked forever and making a new matchmaking system is just terrible. The multiplayer in RF:G was ruined by matchmaking, if there were dedicated servers my friend and I could just 1v1 until more people joined, but no, we have to wait about an hour and a half just to get enough people in a lobby to actually start a game.
deal w/ it [editline]02:49PM[/editline] pc gamers should just stop being dumb and switch to consoles. they are far superior and the controls are better (User was banned for this post ("Trolling." - Greeman))
deal w/ it [editline]02:49PM[/editline] pc gamers should just stop being dumb and switch to consoles. they are far superior and the controls are better
You have to backwards.
I do sort of agree with you. Online play can be part of the console experience but what set it apart in a big way from the PC experience was how you could just get 4 of your friends to hunker down on a couch and play together, amidst shouts of victory and "Screen Looker!".
Nostalgia. :frown:

Only reason MW2 was that way was because Infinity Ward is fucking gay. So MW2 is a queer fest for PC gamers with the matchmaking bullshit. The only reason Left 4 Dead is sorta kinda like matchmaking is because games only contain 4-8 players. Do you really need a server list for that? Not really so I say it is ok for Left 4 Dead. But if you are going to have a major title don't be gay like Infinity Ward give us our benefits that we deserve on the PC. --- Consoles make me want to facepalm.
Splintercell: Chaos theory :buddy:
Goddamnit i'm tearing my hair out on whether to get this or GTA4
It's not the fault of the consoles that PC games get shitty matchmaking and stuff. It's the fault of the devs of the games, they go all like: "OH WOW WE DID THIS GRATE MATCHMAEKING SYTSEM FOR CONSOELS AND BECUZ WE'RE LAZY FUCKS LET'S USE IT ON ZE PC VERSION TOO AND RUIN ONLINE FOR THE PC PLAYERS!!!1!"
deal w/ it [editline]02:49PM[/editline] pc gamers should just stop being dumb and switch to consoles. they are far superior and the controls are better
:siren:WARNING!!! WARNING!!! IDIOCY HAS BEEN DETECTED! COMMENCING RAGE FLUSH TO PREVENT CATASTROPHIC AND BRUTAL MURDER OF THE IDIOT!!!:siren: In all seriousness the consoles are trying to be what PC's were for in the first place. PRO gaming. The amount of People on Xbox live who think they are "1337" (this goes for PSN too) is astounding. You are not a true gamer until you have played PC. PC gamers are like the Dojo grand masters of gaming. We've been here since it was first started and we know everything there is to know. Just because you killed a million ninjas to get to the top of the stairs does not mean you are now the best. Until you beat the master you are not head of the Dojo.
Shit I remember the original Halo on split screen. Not to mention a lot of classic N64 games. Mario Kart split screen will ALWAYS be close in my heart.
Nightfire was like the Goldeneye of the PS2, and Timesplitters 2 was like the Perfect Dark.

One of the major things I like about PC gaming is the amount of keys available. I mean, fuck, I couldn't imagine playing some PC games on consoles, I like having my 100+ rebindable keys and 2+ mouse buttons. When I was younger I never liked playing WASD so I always rebound keys to match the arrow keys. Inevitably, jump became delete and things got complicated.
This has gone from "remember the good 'ol days" to "Fuck the present is crap."
And you wonder why companies don't listen to customers with brilliant insights like this.
Yes, that is exactly how I would present it to someone if I wanted to make a difference.
I agree with this to an extent. Some people don't have the money for a good gaming rig, so they like having a large screen to themselves. But again, nothing can replace the magic of split-screen gaming. The main downfall of it is people who can only afford small screens.
Splitscreen is fun, just a shame, most games don't have it now days...
I keep my trusty Kirby Airride on me.

It's just not the same as on the PC. The controls make a world of difference.
