Thanks Dr Bob. And what's the command to disable autoaim? I hear it's on by default with the new update. (And can I just toss it into the autoexec file?)
Thanks Dr Bob. And what's the command to disable autoaim? I hear it's on by default with the new update. (And can I just toss it into the autoexec file?)
Oh lord, autoaim is on? OK, open up the config.cfg file in your hl2/cfg sub-folder. Find
sk_autoaim_mode "1"
and set that to 0. See if that makes any changes, as I have not tested this. Alternatively, place
sk_autoaim_mode 0
in your autoexec.cfg .
It's a subtle thing, but I think the autoexec one did the trick.
I always hover around that area, unsure if I want to go in. Use mine - it's a modified version of the shitty one, for optimum performance and no useless commands. no
I mean the //'s before the commands with lines like //mat_software_aa_strength 1 not the actual comments.
For me for some reason all the Eli maps load as fullbright on Gmod. THE HORROR! THE HORRORRRRRRRR!!!!

Also, my monitor can display 1280x1024 at 85 Hertz. Setting max FPS to 60 would just be dumb. But since I know how to tweak stuff, and I'm definitely not going to use your config, I'm not complaining.
Sorry I'm late to the thread but does anyone have an autoexec config that makes HL2 / EP1 look their best?
Yah.
I don't want to use that other one posted earlier since everyone is complaining about how crap it is.
So you don't want to use my autoexec because people like to throw stones at it?
I just want one that most people can agree is good.
Oh, so you want one that is good in popular opinion! :downs: Seriously, people. Why is it that you find my CFG so hate-able, and yet Dr. Bob's is perfectly fine? Also,

multithread is broken
Explain.

As for,
r_radiosity 2 // Congratulations, this actually makes the game look worse.
please explain.
I never did get explanations.

I just noticed, they added the combine shotgunner in Hl2.
Well they have Orange eyes now. They didn't before.
The flashlight is still on the sprint battery :downs: They did change it in the Console HL2 and EP1 however.
