Somehow I saw this coming.
Me too.
It's not big surprise.
Maybe they're going to show off source filmmaker, and how it's the best filming tool in the universe and is infinitely better than the beta version or any current ingame filmmaking tool due to ingame raytracing realtime destruction customizeable everything and maya animation and they're just gonna spend the entire event explaining the individual tools of sfm and what is possible with it and then they're gonna start launching portal 2 with the sfm and then it's gonna bsod again with info about the arg.
(watch as i'm completely correct about everything here)

I swear to god, I don't care about any other Valve releases anymore, especially not Portal, If Valve comes up with another excuse not to continue the Half Life series I will fucking firebomb them.
Pretty much this. I wouldn't mind that much if:
A) The whole point of Episodes wasn't to deliver one every year or two,
or
B) Valve didn't end Episode 2 on such a FUCKING cliffhanger.
I honestly doubt that they're even working on Ep3 anymore.
I'm starting to lose interest in the halflife series because of them not releasing any information
According to Valve's history of release dates, I'm calling Fall 2011.
I guess this teaches me to get my hopes up when it comes to Valve releases.
Like anything, this could be a sign of Valve having Episode 3 at E3.
Fuck the fucking world

Indeed, I mean, Episode 2 took a long time, but by now we'd be swimming in trailers. Here is my idea of a Valve meeting:
"Alright everybody, We just released a teaser, teasing the Engineer update. But we need to delay that for about a month. What else can we do other than work on Episode 3?"
"Ooh ooh!"
"Yes?"
"How about we update Counter-Strike source! It'll be just like when we updated DOD:S when we weren't working on Episode 2!"
"Fucking briliant! But the update, and veritable bug-fix updates will only take a couple of months to run their course. We need more."
"HOLY SHIT! I have it! We bring a shit-ton of our games to Mac!"
"YES! YES! MORE!"
"AND WE UPDATE ALL OF THE HALF LIFE 2 GAMES TO SOURCE 2007!"
"Awesome! With all this, TF2 updates continuing for many years to come, Left 4 Dead 2 mutations spewing forth, and Portal 2, we won't have to dedicate more than two people to Episode 3 at any given time. Oh yeah, next week's meeting is on the next Pyro update. Don't miss it!"

Except that the E3 "surprise" is still Portal 2 related... And they already said that the portal 2 and hl2 story line is not connected or something.. correct me if I'm wrong on that last bit..

Obi Wan = Us
Qui Gon = Portal 2
Darth Maul = Valve
Lightsabers = Delaying Lazers
:saddowns:
Didn't even have to watch the video to know what happened.
I find it hard to be upset by valve games being delayed because I know they just make the final product better, hope to some gameplay from one of their games at E3 though
Welp, fuck you Valve. I'm done.

Portal and Half-Life are connected. You must not have played Episode 2.
Portal and Half-Life are connected. You must not have played Episode 2.
He's saying Portal 2 isn't connected, though, because it takes place hundreds of years later. The only reason they put Aperture Science in Episode Two was to promote Portal because they weren't sure how it would be received - now that Portal's a hit and becoming its own franchise, it makes sense for them to distance it a bit from Half-Life.
If this is true, then dammit Valve for delaying it on my birthday.

So, valve, ever gonna release a game the public has been wanting?
Fuck. WHY THIS ON MY BIRTHDAY?!
*sobs*
He is dead already.
really? I thought he went and delayed his death.
Please let the surprise be they're pushing foward the release.
Please let the surprise be they're pushing foward the release.
They did push it forward.
Away from now.
Ok, Valve. Enough of your games.
Of all the game developers and publishers out there, the one I like the MOST has to be the most cryptic. You don't need to taunt us like you do. Make sudden release dates, I don't care. Just stop getting our hopes up and then realizing you haven't gotten used to your own damn workflow, resulting in more delays. Best way to handle this is to STOP TELLING US.
