Warmogs is not always good choice for tank characters. It's pure [B]Health[/B], and thanks to theorycrafting nerds we know that [B]magic resistance [/B]and [B]armor [/B]are [B]more valuable [/B]than [B]health [/B]past [B]1500 health points[/B].
Now, if you want a lot of health, what is Warmog excellent for ( but otherwise, good for nothing), it means :
[B]a)[/B] Your hero has synergy with it (i.e. Olafs passive, Shens passive, Mundos passive)
[B]b)[/B] You are building your hero defensively with Atma's Impaler in mind (DPS heros here)
[B]c)[/B] Enemies have a lot of True Damage characters, who laugh at Magic Resistance and Armor ( Irelia, Cho'gath, Olaf,etc)
Otherwise, MR/Armor bro.
Also, Banshee's Veil =/= core tank build.[B] Force of Nature erryday.[/B]

I really don't get why Morde or cho would get warmogs. Out of all the tanky champs that makes the least sense to get it on them. Rammus has his DBC for armour and MR, so flat HP is semi-effective. Cho already has loads of HP, and Warmogs will do nothing for morde's shield.

If it gets people to build Bloodrazor instead of IE + Last Whisper, it's a good item to get.
I can get why someone would want Warmogs on Morde, its for health regen(FoN is a better idea, though)

Backdooring sometimes feels like low-risk high reward. it sucks if the enemy team all has teleport or Panth because then you can't do the same thing back to them.

FoN has more Magic Resistance, grants HP regen that is great for tanky characterse (in-between fights or even harrasments) and lovely movement speed.
Banshee's Veil passive is one of the most useful ones in-game, but it is limited due to spam-a-bility of battlefield. Take a look here :
Bashee's Veil will work wonders against Karthus, but only if you happen to have it active while he is casting his ultimate. It can also deny stun combo of Veigar or nasty taunt.
On the other hand, people won't want to waste their stuns/ults on you till some AoE stuff gets it down, so as a tank you are less likely to be focused and you want to be flashy and drive attention away from your teammates.
Sometimes though, there can be certain heroes against whom you might feel like getting Banshee's Veil and/or Mercury Threads instead of your usual items, so it's never FoN > B.Veil, but it's like this :
You get hit a lot : FoN > B.Veil
You don't want to get hit by that one thing : FoN < B.Veil
Karthus ,Nunu, Veigar, Irelia, Sion enemy team = FoN and B.Veil

I believe it does, since it increases damage the lower his % HP is, and I believe that while 1000/4000 is equal to 400/1000 in terms of %, it isn't equal in terms of survivability it offers.
So what are your opinions on Karthus? I've been playing him recently and I think he might be a bit op. Been doing really well having lots of stacks for mejais and good amount of kills.

You're absolutely right about Fon in the poking sense. If you're against maokai, nidalee, and gragas then get a FoN because it will sustain you longer thanks to regen. If you're Amumu or Malphite or someone who can do boss initiating and force a teamfight and avoid pokes, I like veil.
Yes, FoN has more MR. But an extra 26 MR on a tank that probably already has Mercs and Aegis will be like 4% more reduced damage. Blocking an entire spell will often protect you more than that 26 MR ever will.
Also, yeah B veil might make them not want to focus you. But wait you're the tank they don't want to focus you anyway, they want your carries.
