I get mana crystal and 1 hp pot and 1 mana pot. From there I will either go tears of goddess or catalyst depending on how your lane is going(getting focused or having a hard time? get catalyst, if you're doing good get tears of goddess so you can spam your sapling more)If you get a tears of goddess first then get a catalyst and vice versa. Then upgrade to whatever RoA or AA first. After you upgrade one of those get boots of swiftness then upgrade the last one. From here you can either go BV or Sunfire cape. I enjoy going mana crystal, 1 health and mana pot
rush a chalice for more mid-early game harassment
then i get boots of mobility because maokai is slow as shit. ive yet to try swiftness though
usually build into a frozen heart with the mana crystal, getting the catalyst first
then banshees
then build tank depending on enemy team
i dont think RoA would be very good on maokai, but i havent tried that yet
hes such a fun tank late game though

Yeah, I usually just go build RoA and into SF cape but the mana problems are a bitch but I didn't want to just go AA because I felt like I would be too squishy so I mixed them together :D
I got the Maokai bundle too! I tried out both skins... Default and Charred are my favorite.. Totem is pretty cool but idk.. he doesn't have the tree-looking feel

I haven't tried boots of mobility yet.. swiftness are pretty good since it's movement speed 3 all the time.. I get around 395 movement speed which is something I can live with.

His saplings are awesome for totemic but that's the only thing I really like.. I think charred and the default look more BA. Then again I only played totemic once... maybe I'll play him more later on.

i find mobility boots great for getting to lanes w/o teleport and just chasing with your stun
AND THE STUN IS AN AMAZING INITIATE

teemo and i were having a fight in bot early game, he killed me with poison and ignite, but i threw a sapling into the bush hoping i could kill him.
when it didnt do anything i was pretty sad, but then i watched him run into the bush and die by the sapling.
i was laughing so hard

both are amazing early game harrassers, but unless you get super fed as morde, you wont do much late game, i think.
teemo has mushrooms and early game poison and ignite and CHRIST
if you build him dps/ hybrid you do so much fucking damage (a teemo that did this destroyed us one game)

I'll try it out later. I remember me and twitch turret dived for renekton and malphite. Malphite was destroyed in less than a second so we then go for renekton. Twitch told me go ahead kill him since I gave him 4 kills and saved his life numerous times so I root him and do my smash skill but he stuns me and starts to run away with 10 HP! So I took my sapling and tossed it on his head and he died ^_^
Morde's Siphon spamming early game is good for annoying the shit out of other players. Mid-late game his ulti comes in handy when pushing, if you manage to get a ghost pet

Maokai seems pretty awesome, but I'm afraid that if I save up my IP to get him, he'll just get nerfed in the next patch or two. Which would be a real bummer since his cost is so much.

im pretty sure he will get buffed and not nerfed
He's extremely fun to play and don't worry about him getting nerf. The only thing that could get nerf is his saplings but I don't think they will.
his sapling range will probably be nerfed
i can throw one over the wall into the brush in the outer top turret
his hp per level will get buffed though

You needed no skill to do massive damage with his E + R skill after hitting level 6, and so they made her more difficult to play as a easy nuker
