I've yet to see a Maokai do half decent... but there's always a first time.

I just find it very shortsighted to immediately disregard certain heroes cause a lot of noobs play them.
The number one summoner that gets insults as soon as it's picked is evelyn and while I do encounter a lot of shite evelyns, I do like her abilities a lot when the player knows his stuff. Same goes for ''idiotic'' teams with a lot of AP or no tank, yeah it will be hard but sometimes the most ridiculous combos get it done.
What do you guys do about team players that don't talk at all? It looks like 3/4 of LoL is from god knows which third world country and will respond with usually the following ''No talk play'' '' r u lady u talk to much'' or when I ping like a mad man and try to warn someone ''NO PING IDIOT'' what follows is him dying and throwing a fit in the chat.

With that logic, people shouldn't even try new champions in any games except for practice ones.
This is bad idea, since majority of practice games consist of people "learning" vs people "learning" aswell, which isn't "real" performance they will have to face during normal/ranked match ups.
I've given Soraka a shot, practice game went well.
Literally afterwards I carried 3 normal solo q games as Soraka without really knowing how to build her, simply following some guide.
The "Custom" Practice game only helped me to learn spells, there was no experience from it what so ever. The normal games have brought me some valuable lessons, like using sidebar portraits rather than manual targeting for spells, conserving ultimate+summoner heal for a strong mid-combat burst and actual importance of Star-falling once in a while.
I never try new champs in practice games. Unless they /JUST/ came out, then I try them once in a practice game to check what they scale with and what to build. Otherwise it's Normal games all the way. :D

Exactly, this is how it should be. I don't want some first time Shaco on my team who dies to blue like an idiot and then builds AP. Oh wait that totally happened.

Bot games are decent, too, if you want to practice. Playing Blitz or Ezreal? Grab a buddy and go mid vs mid seeing how many skill shots you can land. That's what I did with blitz, and it helped a ton.
AP Maokai maxing Saplings first is ridiculous so I don't see the point of "no maokai pls"

with dblade i have 700 health at level one
the ad helps me harass and q
and i don't get hit often, but when i do the lifesteal helps me get it back every last hit.
Only champ I use a Doran's Blade on is Pantheon. I only take a ring on 1 or 2 champs, and a sheild on squishies/people I'm gonna tank or off-tank with. It works pretty well.
Everyone else I get something I can build into something more useful, like an amplifying tome, a sapphire crystal, meki pendant, boots of speed, or something else under 475 gold that builds something else.
my problem is that i don't have any items that id willingly replace it with.
my items (pd, ie) don't have small components that would be better in a lane than dorans.
and winning a lane is a really big thing. especially mid.
I usually wait until I need more room and a better item to sell a Doran's item, and that's not until after laning has ended. Unless I get so fed I'm killing everyone in less than a second.

Ah, sorry. I'm Eastern time here in the US. I read on the wiki that the rotation is usually around 12pm Pacific time which is 3 hours behind me. This will only be my 3rd or 4th rotation, but it is usually in the 3:00 range sometimes 3:10, sometimes 3:40.
Numver One worst thing in this game: Noobs who complain about getting ganked. I had a Twitch yesterday that complained about us ganking him and Nunu 4v2, yes he said that right after he ganked me 3v1.
