Yeah you can dive turrets. Usually it's called tanking the turret and a ranged carry downs the fucker while you eat turret shots.

New favorite kill, ever.
Triple kill with Urgot, down to small sliver of HP. Morde chases, he's got almost nothing. If I stop to attack him he'll kill me. Run onto shroom, use ult. He dies, we ace, I laugh so hard I almost cry.
