I hate gamespy.
I still dont get why VALVe linked portal 2 stuff to it... :suicide:
They get their parents to give them some money.
Another reason not to buy Crysis 2. Also, wasn't Gamespy H.E.A.T. back in the day? What happened to H.E.A.T. I remember playing UT99 and Sin through it.
I remember using gamespy to play Sudden Strike online... Damn game is dead and so is the gamespy lobbies for it!
I am using it for Renegade and Crysis Wars, but I think it shouldn't be used in new games.
Gamespy's been around since Quake 2 and the original Operation Flashpoint. Man, I still remember trying to play on their shitty 'Gamespy Arcade' thing, it never worked right.
Uh early than that dawg. GameSpy used to be called QuakeSpy originally. I remember spending ages trying to get a game going for QuakeWorld, but that wasn't really QSpy's fault. There were just not enough players in my country back then.
I remember back on windows 98 trying to use it for age of empires 2, seeing it was total shit and going back to MSN Zones. (Alternative to it is now Voobly)
I used it to play Operation Flashpoint during lunch from middle school when I was in grade FIVE. I was a hardcore motherfucker. I'd come home and play a game of RTS mod and then head back to school. I got introduced to it by trying my Dad's copy of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. I remember that's when I discovered chat rooms too. Not that I ever really used them, but people would always talk trash in the lobbies and I'd be too scared to talk or anything. I remember playing with these crazy army clans where the people were 20-28 years old. No one ever guessed I was only 11. I wasn't like the degenerate kids on Xbox Live, I was really polite and stuff, even with all of my typo's. Reminds me of how sadly I never realized BF:1942 had online until about 3 years after I bought it, I used to play that game for hours just against bots. But I always thought it was sort of "dull" because I couldn't get online to work :(

Gamespy Arcade was excellence back in the day. If it weren't for GSA, I wouldn't have been introduced to online gaming, and all those hours staring at a screen, tossing grenades last second, cappin' points, and spinning a huge minigun barrel tossing hot lead at would-be scouts and soldiers will all be but for naught. I love you Gamespy Arcade. But I happen to love Steam more.
It's still alive?
I'm sure there's some kind of community still kickin'.
"LAUNCHING GAME" Sometimes i just fire up Gamespy to hear that [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] :allears: those where the days
Awwwwwwwwwwwww yeahhhhhhhhh. I remember telling myself that when I hit the proper age, I'd be subscribing and getting a registered version. Anyone want to remind me why I wanted it so bad? :v:
On the other hand, good ol' times with The All Seeing Eye.. Haven't used it in a loong time, is it still used a lot?
I used it for Jedi Academy and Elite Force 1
This thread reminded me of playing Worms 4: Mayhem online. :unsmith:
