If with extra's you mean xbox live, headset, controllers, and replacements when you get RROD,yeah without all of that its cheaper. So i'd like to say it again, the PS3 has stuff worth buying, while most of the stuff on the xbox isn't even worth my time, with a few exceptions of course.
Holy crap, it's a 50-50.
Holy crap, it's a 50-50.
Maybe that's because these consoles are equal. People need to stop raging.
I voted PS3, for reasons already stated. You get a more complete console out of the box. Comes with wireless, a big HD, free online, much lower fail rate (and even then that is looking at the first gen of models). I think the exclusives are much more enticing and unique than what the 360 has to offer. I don't think there is a difference between PSN and XBL, besides one is free. The PS Store has a lot of cool stuff as of late.
PS3 Definetly. Most of the 360 games are on PC. So if you have a decent PC you can run them.
right, i've been away for a few hours and should expand a bit. I have an alright rig... it's just most of my friends AREN'T PC gamers I have more friends on ps3 though I don't mind paying for LIVE I think the 360 controller is better on the hand, better layout... But i prefer the ps3 ability to be a media center as opposed to just a extender, as the 360 is... I like the extra features of the ps3, like the bluetooth, and possibly blu-ray, although I DONT have a HD tv and i'll most likely hook the console up to a monter for better resolution than my TVs, as for the ps3 controller I find the six-axis too light all together, I prefer a bit of weight in the controllers, so i'd probably go for the dualshock controller as for genre, i'd mainly go for FPSs or Racing titles... I don't like the over priced accesories for xbox, but most of them are offical microsoft products and tend to last longer... that's my experience with controllers for the pc, i use a 360 controller /w a wireless reciever, and it's excelent... I also have to consider budget, I might have between 200-300, Do not say anything about how shit my low budget is!!! thanks for anybody who has commented so far... keep the opinoins rooling...
Your mistake if you get one you hate. But i do like X Box 360 better.

xbox, better games, better controller jus go with the one you have the most friends on ?
i just looked at local prices and the 360 is WAY cheaper than even the ps3 base model... i'm leaning very heavily on the 360 side now... as I've said i have a tight budget
If you want extreme colleage douchebags, ghetto rats, and all around annoying rednecks on racing games. Get Ps3. If you want little kids screaming in your ear, go for xbox360.
well it's a case of I have css, i'm used to little kids...
PS3 seems like the console that will sustain a good standard a bit longer. Uncharted 2 already looks better than any 360 game I ever personally played. [editline]01:30AM[/editline] And you get a blu-ray player as well.
PS3: Free online multiplayer, awesome selection of downloadable titles
Use the money you have to improve your PC. :smug:
Honestly $300 or whatever towards your PC is enough for a seriously bitching graphics card, or if you already have one, at least 6 games.
well it'll manage crysis PERFECTLY(on low), but it's a case of I dont' really wanna go fucking with it incase i fuck it up, AGAIN... and the main reason I want to get a console, as I said earlier is to play with friends... as they don't use the pc for gaming as I do... yeah... the pc manages cod4 on lowish... also...
PS3 fat you can install linux so firefox, snes, gba, mame etc
yeah... but the processors are different to ones used in most pcs so I can't run shit via WINE... plus the GPU and parts of the CPU are locked when using linux
if you have friends xbawks360
just out of interest, which is easier to make machinima on?? which has better titles that have easy to use spectator modes, like theathre mode in Halo3
What the fuck? A choose for me thread stays alive for 10 hours? what the fuck are the mods doing
didn't say choose FOR me, and i did say contemplating, i didn't say i was actually getting, it is a case of if i'm gonna get one, which one would be better... at the moment i'm leaning rather heavily on the 360 side... a major factor being cost...
The only thing that matters is which one of the console's exclusive games you prefer more than the other.

Unless you're gonna buy the Arcade model of the 360 which doesn't have a harddrive. And to buy one cost $100
