You are asking for a SUPER specific feature that is not widely used because it really doesn't serve much purpose.
It wouldn't be that useful unless everything was interactive. But you should seriously consider Elite Force 1 Voyager thing. I don't remember the specifics but you really get to see a lot of the ship, plus it's got great missions in general.

You shouldn't be complaining so much because these people are making the effort to try to get you some interesting games that may be even remotely close to what you want.
That Bounty Hunter game.
You could get out of the cockpit and walk around your ship while in-space, however the ship was little more then a large shuttle at best.
I'm complaining? I didn't mean to. I just wanted a good list of games related to the common interest. We even got some Eve Online talk going too, even though it was off topic.

Your right, I've only seen this ability in Star Wars Galaxies. This is the total reason why I started this thread, to see if there are other games in the similar gameplay of the Star Wars in space (land combat isn't that great)

Being able to walk around the ship is not a feature planned for Infinity's release. The only game that has what you want, is Galaxies i'm afraid.

EVE is boring even when you do things the combat is so shit for a space game.
There is a cockpit mod for X³ Reunion and X³TC, its quite cool.

Yeah, the cockpit mods are all really nice. Much better feeling of being in a real ship and stuff.
In the bigass ships you even get an empty bridge (since the ships are computer controlled).
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Noctis. I mean it's not much of a ship, but you still walk in it and do everything in it.

It's not really a fully-fledged game. All you do is explore the big procedurally generated universe.
Oh, also, Unreal 2: The Awakening lets you walk around your ship in between missions but that's all you can do really.
Well, that and talk to the crew members.
And Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty will let you hang out on the main character's ship in between missions as well and do tons of things.

Okay, I just decided to stick with Star Wars Galaxies. I tried the trial for Eve Online, I've got roughly 12 days left as of now, and I got to say; it's hard take in all at once when you first start playing. But the fact that it has a player run economy and player run corporations (guilds anyone?) I even saw a corp call "I like female genitals."
