Looks awesome, almost makes me wish I still had my Wii.
Even though I have it paid off at gamestop went to walmart to see if they were selling it at midnight Swear to god one of them told me that there is no such thing as galaxy 2, the attendant kept pointing to the first game and trying to sell it to me. Wow Anyway, 6 more hours
Got 120 stars and here's the dealy yo. [sp]"Cosmic Jewels" (Green stars) Become collectable There's the same amount of Green stars (In form of prankster comets) in each galaxy as regular stars. So it actually IS 240 stars. (Though 121-240 are kind of cheap) The green stars are hidden across a normal stage (You can even get the translucent star of the stage's star at the end). You can get any of the green stars even if you select the "wrong" one. In the same "form" of the galaxy only though; the stars may be in different forms of the galaxy and you obviously can't get one of form 1 if selecting a form 2 star They're pretty well hidden (Only found 1 yet in the first galaxy; maybe I'm missing something though) Can collect with either Mario or Luigi Chomp Chomps have got to be the coolest enemies ever. Woof Woof.[/sp]
Great game. It's fun (even though the levels are linear) and the music is great.
So what levels are in the Throwback galaxy?
I wish they would put a level editor in. :sigh:
. [editline]04:51PM[/editline]
Present for everyone in this thread
Holy shit, those musicians at Nintendo are fucking amazing!
So what levels are in the Throwback galaxy?
[sp]Throwback galaxy is only 1 level. It's the whomp fortress seen in the Video with 2 stars +1 prankster (2nd star in 3 minutes) In the final world, there's that cone shaped galaxy with all the rolling big guys from SMG1 (http://www.nlgaming.com/images/uploads/20070913_SMGalaxy14.jpg) (I think it was the galaxy that started with a small beach and you had to open a door with a fire flower). Except it's really fast and really hard. 1 star + prankster (time) Then there's boss rush galaxy. All the not-bowser bosses from SMG 1 in a row + prankster same in 5 minutes.[/sp]
I'm debating on if I should sell my Xbox and get another Wii again, this is one of the games that's probably going to convince me. How is it? I played the first one and I loved it, is this one better/the same or worse?
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/supermariogalaxy?q=super%20mario%20galaxy http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/supermariogalaxy2 the same according to metacritic
I think those two games are the reason why one should have a Wii (SMG 1+2)

[editline]04:18PM[/editline]
I think those two games are the reason why one should have a Wii (SMG 1+2)
Well, yes, they are worth owning a Wii for, but clearly the best Wii game is Monster Hunter Tri. :smug:
Oh god the game is pure awesome juice.
Been playing all day, it's like nintendo found a way to take concentrated fun, grind it up, and pour the result straight into my eyes. This shit is fantastic
I wanna get this game so fucking bad, It looks amazing and I haven't had any game on the Wii since NMH2. I'm definitely gonna buy this game very, very soon.

Goddamn, this game is fucking awesome. Still playing it since I got it a few hours ago.
I picked up the game this morning and have been playing it a lot today. I'm at world 5 currently, and, with some research, I've discovered that the game only has 6 worlds. I kind of expected it to be more like the length of SMG1, which took me around 15-20 hours to complete.

So [sp]anyone know the secret for getting all 240 stars?[/sp]
I hope there are more levels like super massive later on, giant world was always my favorite in mario 3 and SM was just flat out fun
Ive beaten the game at 71 stars and it took me 7:52 All thats left is the Special World and the other stars from the older galaxies.
Am I the only one who thinks that there is no way this game would've gotten such great reviews if it wasn't a Super Mario game?
Am I the only one who thinks that there is no way this game would've gotten such great reviews if it wasn't a Super Mario game?
Yes. The game is a perfectly executed platformer.
The story is far from perfect, there isn't really one. The characters aren't interesting, there's no multiplayer and it's not very original.
The story is far from perfect, there isn't really one. It's a sequel to a game that was very original. [editline]07:27PM[/editline] That's like saying "lole tetris and pacman sux because they don't have kewl stories and zomg the characters are like sewwww uninteresting". You don't get the fucking point of playing a game like Mario. It's always stuck with the same formula - and that is to play through the levels to get to the end. That's it. No complex stories with plot twists and shit, just pure platform gaming. [editline]07:30PM[/editline] Like, holy shit. I just can't comprehend you could be so stupid.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm just saying it doesn't deserve the scores it's getting. I've played it for a couple of hours, and it was fun, but I don't think it's anywhere close to a score above 95%. Imagine a FPS with no story. You're told to go there, do that but never why. Can you imagine it getting a perfect score from the biggest gaming website in the world, even if the gameplay was flawless?

There isn't a single thing wrong with the game, I don't see why it doesn't deserve a 95%, it's not like there's an absolute standard that must be met by all games to be given a high rating. This game does what it should, it doesn't need a good story, it doesn't need character development, it's just a great platformer, and that's what the reviewers see, a great platformer.
