uh well, I havent played mw2...but is this game all abotu the front lines? Women aren't allowed on the front line in real life because the men would try to protect the women, which is a natural thing to do. I know it's sexist..but seriously, there's no way you can be exactly the same =/
if surviving means being just a little discriminatory, then no women on the front line =/

It's hard to really call the fact that a Russian attack on the homes and cities of the United States is a frontline when Russia is outright trying to destroy everything. Whether you people think women should or shouldn't be combatants in military situations, I think this is kind of sidetracked when your home nation is being bombed and attacked directly.
Also, as already mentioned in the thread, there was a female helicopter pilot who got shot down and had to be rescued by you in the first Modern Warfare, so bleh.
I am 14, and I would actually like to see some supporting female characters. Not that I would be well...:smug: But it would make a bit more realistic. Quite frankly I think any country would lose wars if they didn't have women as a part of their military.
No. Women aren't in the military because they can't handle what normal men can. /Thread.

This.

Women generally aren't allowed in the military because the male soldiers are absolute idiots around them. If a woman gets injured in the field, male soldiers might disobey orders and immediately begin shooting at anything or breaking cover to rescue her, thus leaving both of them in danger.

Plus, women can't hold guns or be as coordinated as men can.

That's sorta sad,
Either A) that a soldier wouldn't do that for a male or female, it shouldn't matter, it's your friends life
or B) that the army thinks they wouldn't.
I'm not the only one that chooses to play as the female characters (if any) right?
It would've been pointless for IW to make soldier female models when they're rarely at the scene of a frontline battle.
And most likely the military would have female soldiers help evacuate citizens during a major threat (such as the Russian Invasion in MW2) rather than fight.

That is the most Stupidest thing i have ever heard.
Anyone can do it..it takes training.

I made a thread about why they don't add female characters.
Here's the article:
Didn't we already have some big discussion on this and it all eventually boiled down to the fact that they were too fucking lazy to make an entirely new body model? Since with the males, for the most part it was copy paste faces onto the same body.
Yeah, It was my thread.
“It’s an interesting thing, though because … It’s fun that you bring that up because I can kind of give some insight into development and how games are made. When you actually put in female characters, typically you have to put in an entire new skeleton model and that entire new skeleton model adds an entire new level of animation and an entire new level of rigging. You basically double the amount of data and memory for soldiers that would need to go into your game.

fucked for you.
More like
There's one that I noticed in Call of Duty 2 in an early mission, she's a commander or something but it makes it look like all the guys are chasing after her and doing everything she says, but then she gets shot...
What are you talking about,OP?Silly boy, there were hundreds of female characters!Such a shame that they were all in one level. Also such a shame that they all died in that one level. They added such a nice touch to that airport.
Err. For starters, I've seen more than a few black civilians walking around in RDR. But more to the point, you do realize RDR is set in 1911 right?
[editline]02:11AM[/editline]
Hahaha.
Women are still a minority in almost every military and their notable presence is a recent thing. They still aren't allowed to be in direct combat roles, and SF units will never have women, at least not for the foreseeable future. They have their reasons, some legitimate, some very good reasons, others questionable, but this is not the place to discuss it.
Really depends on the military. Unless I'm mistaken most european militaries have no gender restrictions and the same standards for both genders.
Still the ratios are usually 10:1 or similar.
To expand on what this man said, the helicopter pilot that you had to rescue from before the nuclear explosion. The voiceovers are quite clearly female, although it's hard to tell when you actually see her face (some may disagree here).
Too bad saving her was pointless since everyone fucking dies anyway. Way to spoil the mood, IW.
The male and female pilot have the exactly same body mesh, just different heads.
And to be honest when have people in full gear, you can cheat a bit and give them the same animations.
Just look at female shephard from mass effect. Those animations don't look too female and not many notice. At least until the Kasumi mission
Really the animation line is pretty cheap. Most games don't features females for two reasons.
a) Presence of females that can be shot and killed can often swing a rating towards more mature content, especially in some countries (it's not a deciding factors, but small things add up)
b) Females require a completely seperate voice-actor. You can't just use your 3 or 4 actors to record voices for them as well, you need at least one or two more which costs money.
Still the lack of females in modern warfare isn't problematic. Since it mostly deals with SF or the US army which has pretty big restrictions due to the congress.
I was more surprised at the lack of civilians during the missions on US soil though.
