OP needs to add Silent Hill Øranges and Silent Hill Homecoming. Also, in the synopsis for SH2 you say the monsters are made from James' lust and passion for his wife. They're not. They're made from his repressed sexual desires and needs, cause she was sick they couldn't have sex. And some of them are manifestations of James' second thoughts of remaining faithful to Mary. Big difference, breh.
I used to have this big guide on the story of Silent Hill and all the info about each game. I wish I could find it.
i guess it's just me but silent hill 2 was great but i loved silent hill 3's heather char. She was just so....angry and emo....and nothing really bothered her even though it was such a messed up enviornment.... I really wish they'd go back to the old style of silent hill games- namely 1,2,and 3 the lastest silent hill 5 was HORRIBLE. I mean, great graphics and all and some scenes were nice but the story and gameplay as an abysmal failure of an RE4 knockoff. The whole idea of silent hill was to have main charecters that were purposely everyday folks who weren't crack shots or superstrong. That's what made it scary. Knowing that James would get winded if he ran 10yards since he was a nobody clerk and Heather was just some anorexic narcoleptic that could hardly swing a pipe
But Alex Shepard ISNT part of the military :O also, Alex Shepard is one of my friends' name. It's quite weird. He spells his name Alyx though.
I wonder how would people feel if they took out the Pyramid head and the Nurses (Which is pretty much fan service)
Where's the Silent Hill game for the PSP? Also, love the series, I loved every part I played except the 2nd one, felt too recycled and had a lack of atmosphere in comparison to the 1st and 3rd one. SH1 is my favorite, followed by 3 and 4, I didn't manage to finish Homecoming, I'll hopefully reinstall and finish it during the holidays. I loved the 4th one, I think it's better than, like, every RE game except the 3rd one. All in all, yeah, I love the SH series.
Silent Hill 2 is my favourite. I just love the athmosphere, the enemies, the story. Everything. I also owned SH1 when I had a PS1 but I was too scared to play it back then :saddowns:

That's what I get for never playing any of them. :v:
This series is awesome.
Here's a pretty good informational site that describes the first 4 games in depth. http://www.translatedmemories.com/
I have a question about Shattered Memories.. Do you really not fight enemies at all? Like, it it kind of how the girl (Sherry, I believe is her name) is in Resident Evil 2, where you had to run past zombies? Also, where is Silent Hill: Homecoming?
More delays on updating the OP, I've been gone all day today with relatives. And Shattered Memories is more or less run the fuck away and don't look back. Seems to have mirrors edge-esque movement flow from the gameplay videos.
I've been hearing many mixed reports about Shattered Memories, is it worth picking up? Or pretending it doesn't exist?
Yes, it is amazing. I played for a good four hours with a friend who owns a Wii. The game feels a lot more like Siren now (in a good way). I wouldn't quite put it in the same class as SH2, but it definitely got close. Scared the balls off me on a few occasions, and running away from enemies is intense. [editline]08:01PM[/editline]
Also, where is Silent Hill: Homecoming?
That game isn't welcome in the same series as Silent Hill. Horrible game, mostly due to the ridiculous combat that slowed it down to a halt.

Or pretending it doesn't exist?
It's a great game, I suggest you pick it up. Just remember to save like a motherfucker. You wouldn't know how fucking pissed I was when I had to start over after realizing there was no sort of autosaving or did the game ever tell me how to save.
It's more scary in the areas that ARE scary, and a lot more well paced in the whole game overall. It's very cinematic and, "Next gen." Think along the lines of how cool Uncharted 2 is, but for a horror genre game. It's very, very well done.
It's more scary in the areas that ARE scary.
"Gasp! A shadow!" "Oh golly! The wreath moved off the tree!" I find scarier from silent hill 1 and 3, Imo.

I haven't gotten out of the police station after you get your weapons back because I keep dying. It's like it wants you to not have ammo.

You could have just said that. Nothing on the wii is more "next gen" or even current gen.

Are there any silent hill chars as npcs for GMOD other than Maria? If i could find james or heather I'd make another SH machinima
No, I highly highly doubt they'll do a SH2 remake. I think they did the UFO ending in this one is to make sense of the UFO ending in SH2.
The UFO endings make me laugh and I dont think they will do a remake of SH2, they probably put James in shattered memories for fan service, much like Harry was in the SH2 UFO ending for the same reason I belive

I say, "Next gen," in the sense that Shadow of the Colossus, and indeed Uncharted 2, are next gen. They're the next gen of actual game design, not consoles.
I bought Homecoming yesterday, so far... It's so bad :saddowns: it's basically Silent Hill: The Movie: The Game -Jacob's Ladder Edition -
